St Mary Magdalene's Church, Walkeringham

Walkeringham is a village and civil parish in Nottinghamshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 908, increasing to 1,022 at the 2011 census, and additionally to 1,118 at the 2021 census. The parish church of St Mary Magdalen is 13th century. It has one public house: The Fox and Hounds. Southmoor lodge, employs 29 local people to care for 40 older peoples. It also has a former station house (now a private residence) and a level crossing across Station Road. The end of Station Road is cut off by the River Trent. Walkeringham's housing was extended in the mid-1960s to accommodate the workers of West Burton Power Station. The village also has a small school, which has recently been extended with a new hall (2010).

It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894, from the part of the Gainsborough rural sanitary district which was in Nottinghamshire (the rest forming Gainsborough Rural District in Lincolnshire.) It included the following parishes Beckingham Bole Misterton Saundby Walkeringham West Burton West StockwithThe district was abolished in 1935 under a County Review Order, and was added to the existing East Retford Rural District. Since 1974 it has been in the Bassetlaw district.

Walkeringham railway station was a station in Walkeringham, Nottinghamshire. The station opened on 15 July 1867 and closed for passengers on 2 February 1959, although freight services continued until 19 August 1963 and trains between Gainsborough and Doncaster continue to pass through.

Walkerith is a hamlet within the civil parish of East Stockwith, in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies on the east bank of the River Trent, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north-west from Gainsborough and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south from East Stockwith. The name 'Walkerith' derives from the Old English for 'landing place of a fuller'.Walkerith is recorded in the 1872 White's Directory as a small village and township in the Soke of Kirton, with a population of 80 in 252 acres (1 km2) of land. Trades listed included a boat builder, the licensed victualler of the Ferry Hotel, and four farmers.In 1885 Kelly's Directory recorded the village as a township within the ecclesiastical parish of East Stockwith, with its own ferry across the Trent, an area of 253 acres (1 km2), an 1881 population of 87, and a Wesleyan chapel built in 1834. Prior to 1866 Walkerwith was, for administrative purposes, a township, afterwards a civil parish.

Beckingham railway station was a station in Beckingham, Nottinghamshire on the line between Gainsborough and Doncaster. The station opened on 16 July 1867, and passenger services were withdrawn on 2 November 1959, although the line through the station remains open. Goods trains served the station until 19 August 1963.

West Stockwith is a village within the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England. The population at the 2011 census was 327, this increased to 335 at the 2021 census. It lies on the west bank of the River Trent, 3 miles (4.8 km) north-west of Gainsborough and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) east of Misterton. West Stockwith is an ecclesiastical parish in the Church of England Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham with the parish church of St Mary the Virgin's Church, West Stockwith being built in 1722. East Stockwith is a settlement on the other side of the Trent, but within the county boundaries of Lincolnshire. The two villages were once linked together by a passenger ferry.
