Beckingham railway station

Beckingham is a village and civil parish in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England, about 3 miles west of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 1,168, reducing to 1,098 in 2011 but increasing to 1,288 in 2021.

St Martin of Tours' Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Saundby, Nottinghamshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Saundby is a hamlet and civil parish in Nottinghamshire two miles west of Gainsborough. Although it comes under Beckingham cum Saundby parish council, by 2011 it had become a separate civil parish in its own right. The parish is bordered on one side by the River Trent. The village Church of St Martin was extensively restored in 1885.

Bole is a village and civil parish in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, England. It is close by the River Trent, on the eastern side of which is Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. At one time the village stood – like the neighbouring parish of West Burton – very near to an oxbow lake, known as Bole Round. However flooding led to the original course of the River Trent being diverted after 1792. The parish now lies within a landscape largely dominated by the West Burton power stations. According to the 2001 census Bole had a population of 140,a count of 247 at the 2011 census (which included South Wheatley and West Burton parishes), and singularly reported as 135 in 2021.

Walkeringham railway station was a station in Walkeringham, Nottinghamshire. The station opened on 15 July 1867 and closed for passengers on 2 February 1959, although freight services continued until 19 August 1963 and trains between Gainsborough and Doncaster continue to pass through.

Walkerith is a hamlet within the civil parish of East Stockwith, in the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It lies on the east bank of the River Trent, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) north-west from Gainsborough and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south from East Stockwith. The name 'Walkerith' derives from the Old English for 'landing place of a fuller'.Walkerith is recorded in the 1872 White's Directory as a small village and township in the Soke of Kirton, with a population of 80 in 252 acres (1 km2) of land. Trades listed included a boat builder, the licensed victualler of the Ferry Hotel, and four farmers.In 1885 Kelly's Directory recorded the village as a township within the ecclesiastical parish of East Stockwith, with its own ferry across the Trent, an area of 253 acres (1 km2), an 1881 population of 87, and a Wesleyan chapel built in 1834. Prior to 1866 Walkerwith was, for administrative purposes, a township, afterwards a civil parish.

West Burton is a hamlet and civil parish in Nottinghamshire, England, located in the north-east of the county within the district of Bassetlaw. It lies between the villages of Bole and Sturton le Steeple. The Saxon name "burh-ton" states a fortified farmstead with the village lying to the west of Gate Burton in Lincolnshire. The recorded population at the 2021 census was 14 residents.

Rose Brothers Ground was a cricket ground in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1851, when Gainsborough played an All-England Eleven. The first Minor Counties Championship match played at the ground saw Lincolnshire play Bedfordshire in 1927. From 1927 to 1961, the ground hosted 18 Minor Counties Championship matches, the last of which saw Lincolnshire play Shropshire.The ground also held two first-class matches, the first of which came in 1931 between a combined Minor Counties team and the touring New Zealanders. The second first-class fixture held at the ground came in 1937 and was between the same sides as the 1931 fixture. The ground closed after the Rose Forgrove company concentrated its production at Leeds in 1987.

Walkeringham is a village and civil parish in Nottinghamshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 908, increasing to 1,022 at the 2011 census, and additionally to 1,118 at the 2021 census. The parish church of St Mary Magdalen is 13th century. It has one public house: The Fox and Hounds. Southmoor lodge, employs 29 local people to care for 40 older peoples. It also has a former station house (now a private residence) and a level crossing across Station Road. The end of Station Road is cut off by the River Trent. Walkeringham's housing was extended in the mid-1960s to accommodate the workers of West Burton Power Station. The village also has a small school, which has recently been extended with a new hall (2010).
