Crawley Down Gatwick F.C.

Crawley Down is a village in the Mid Sussex district of West Sussex, England. There is one church, one school, and a number of social groups. It lies seven miles from Gatwick Airport. The next nearest railway stations are Three Bridges and East Grinstead. Crawley Down lies in the northeast corner of West Sussex, just one mile from the border with Surrey. Crawley Down has a King George's Field in memorial to King George V.

Grange Road was a railway station on the Three Bridges to Tunbridge Wells Central Line. The station opened in 1860 and was rebuilt on an enlarged scale in 1876, with a footbridge added in 1897. The station and railway closed in 1967, a casualty of the Beeching Axe.

The Monastery of the Holy Trinity, Crawley Down is an Anglican monastery located at Crawley Down in West Sussex, England. The monastery belongs to the order of the Community of the Servants of the Will of God (CSWG), an Anglican order based on the Benedictine rule. The monastery includes both men and women living under the same monastic rule. It is a semi-eremitical community. From 1973 to 2009, the Father Superior (head of the monastery) was Father Gregory CSWG. Father Gregory died on August 12, 2009. Fr Gregory stood down as superior in 2008 due to ill health. The community elected Father Colin, as the community's superior; he has remained Superior since that time [1] The monastery community celebrate a sung Divine Office / Liturgy of the Hours each day, using a modal chant within an Orthodox style of liturgy. The community recites the Jesus Prayer several evenings a week, reflecting their links with the Patriarchal Stavropegic Monastery of St. John the Baptist at Tolleshunt Knights in Essex, England.

Imberdown is an electoral division of West Sussex in the United Kingdom, and returns one member to sit on West Sussex County Council.

The Worth Way is a 7-mile (11 km) footpath and bridleway linking the West Sussex towns of Crawley and East Grinstead via the village of Crawley Down. Mostly following the trackbed of a disused railway the path is an important wildlife corridor. It is part of the National Cycle Network.

The A264 is an east–west road in southern England that runs from Pembury in west Kent to Five Oaks in West Sussex. There have been a number of notable changes in this important east–west route which follows the north Sussex border with Kent and Surrey. Originally the route started in Tunbridge Wells, the Pembury to Tunbridge Wells section being originally the A263. West of Tunbridge Wells, instead of following its northerly route to East Grinstead via Holtye and Hammerwood, which was the B2110 prior to about 1970, it followed what is now the B2110 through Groombridge and Hartfield to Forest Row, and multiplexed with the A22 to East Grinstead (which explains the present discontinuity in the B2110 at Forest Row and East Grinstead, the unexpected sharp right at Langton Green when travelling west, and unexpected left at East Grinstead when travelling east along the A264). Both routes are winding and narrow and both have bridges with single file traffic. West of East Grinstead, it multiplexes with the A22 to Felbridge. The section from the west of Felbridge as far as Three Bridges has been improved and partially rerouted. For many years there was no junction with the M23, and the route went through both Crawley and Horsham. In the late 1980s, it was rerouted along the newly constructed Copthorne Link Road to Junction 10 of the M23, and in the early 1990s was multiplexed south along the M23 to Junction 11 at Pease Pottage, and along the then newly constructed SW Crawley Bypass. The section west of Crawley was upgraded to dual carriageway, and the route now follows Horsham's Northern Bypass (opened 1989; traffic previously went through the town) to its junction with the A24, then multiplexes south with the A24 (West Bypass), now also dual carriageway, to Broadbridge Heath where instead of going through the village it follows its bypass together with the A281. The old route is followed southwest to Five Oaks and the A29. Thus, very little of the original A264 now carries that identifier.

Hedgecourt is a 33.6-hectare (83-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Felbridge in Surrey. An area of 5-hectare (12-acre) is managed by the Surrey Wildlife Trust.Hedgecourt Lake is an ancient mill pond formed by damming the Eden Brook. Other habitats are fen, grassland and woodland. There are wetland breeding birds such as water rail, mute swan, sedge warbler, kingfisher and tufted duck.

Turners Hill is a village and civil parish in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, England. The civil parish covers an area of 1,390 hectares (3,400 acres), and has a population of 1,849 (2001 census) increasing to 1,919 at the 2011 Census. The village is located three miles (5 km) south-west of East Grinstead, four miles (6 km) to the south-east of Crawley and stands on a steep ridge line at one of the highest points (580 feet above sea level) of the High Weald, where two historically important routes, the B2110 and B2028, cross.

Turners Hill SSSI is a 0.2-hectare (0.49-acre) geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in Turners Hill in West Sussex. It is a Geological Conservation Review site.This former quarry exposed the Tunbridge Wells Sand Formation, part of the Hastings Beds, which dates to the Early Cretaceous between about 140 and 100 million years ago. It provided excellent three dimensional sections through the Ardingly Sandstone Member of the Formation.The site is private land with no public access. The quarry has been filled in and no geology is visible.

The London to Brighton Way, also called the London to Portslade Way, is a Roman road between Stane Street at Kennington Park and Brighton (or more specifically Portslade) in Sussex. The road passes through Streatham and Croydon, then through the Caterham Valley gap in the North Downs. It passes through Godstone and Felbridge, then follows an almost straight line through Ardingly, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill and Hassocks to the South Downs at Clayton. At Hassocks it crosses the Sussex Greensand Way at a large Roman cemetery. It climbs the South Downs escarpment, crossing the ridgeway and connecting with other local tracks. South of Pyecombe the route is uncertain, and may have continued to Brighton or to Portslade. The road passed through some of the strategically important iron-producing areas of the Weald and was partly constructed from iron slag in those areas, although to a lesser extent than the London to Lewes Way.

Felbridge is a village and civil parish in the Tandridge district of Surrey with a playing field within its focal area, narrowly in West Sussex. Felbridge village forms a contiguous settlement with East Grinstead and had 829 homes and households at the time of the 2011 census. Domewood is part of Felbridge civil parish, which was created in 1953.

Tulleys Farm  is a fourth-generation  family farm, located in West Sussex. Originating in 1937, the farming business at Tulleys was founded by Bernard Beare, and continues to be run by the Beare family to this day. Tulleys is best known for its seasonal attractions, most notably the annual Halloween festival held each October, entitled Shocktober Fest which has become the largest scream park in Europe.
