Pike's Opera House, later renamed the Grand Opera House, was a theater in New York City on the northwest corner of 8th Avenue and 23rd Street, in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan. It was constructed in 1868, at a cost of a million dollars (equivalent to about 20.4 million US dollars in 2021), for distiller and entrepreneur Samuel N. Pike (1822–1872) of Cincinnati. The building survived in altered form until 1960 as an RKO movie theater, after which it was replaced by part of Penn South, an urban renewal housing development.: 599 

The 23rd Street station is a local station on the IND Eighth Avenue Line of the New York City Subway, located at the intersection of 23rd Street and Eighth Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. It is served by the C and E trains, the former of which is replaced by the A train during late nights.

BurritoVille is a New York City-based quick-service food chain serving Tex-Mex cuisine, established in 1992. Until 2008, there were 16 locations in Manhattan, one in Westbury, New York on Long Island, and one in Hoboken, NJ. The menu items consist mostly of various types of burritos and tacos, as well as salads and nachos. Many of the items are vegetarian. The chain's slogan is, "We're Mexcellent!" Interior decor consists of antique maps of Mexico and classic sensational horror and romance Mexican cinema posters. In September 2008, Burritoville closed all its Manhattan locations as a result of filing for reorganization under the bankruptcy laws. However, the Westbury location remained open for business. In November 2008, one of the former owners of Blimpie purchased BurritoVille and directed a complete makeover of the chain. The Financial District location (36 Water Street), which re-opened in July 2009, was the first of several planned locations in New York City and throughout the country. The 23rd Street location reopened in the fall of 2009. In 2011, Burritoville's website listed only its 23rd Street restaurant in Manhattan as an active location. As of late 2014, the website listed only a single restaurant located in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The GEM Hotel brand is a neighborhood boutique hotel collection in Manhattan, New York City. The brand, which was launched in 2007, currently has three locations: The GEM Hotel Midtown West, The GEM Hotel SoHo and The GEM Hotel Chelsea, which was voted Best New York City Boutique Hotel in 2010 by Citysearch. A fourth location, The GEM Hotel Union Square, is under construction. Owned and operated by Gemini Real Estate Advisors, LLC, The GEM Hotel is an independent hotel collection. Reservation support is provided by the Ascend Collection by Choice Hotels through a membership affiliation. Gemini Real Estate Advisors is a full-service real estate company that specializes in the acquisition, development and management of commercial real estate.

Barracuda Lounge, or simply Barracuda, is a gay bar in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City. Opened in 1995, the bar is known for its nightly drag shows. It is a sister establishment to Industry, a nightclub, and Elmo, a restaurant. Barracuda is home to "Star Search", the longest-running bar show in New York City, which began in the early 1990s and may have served as an inspiration for RuPaul's Drag Race. In the 1990s and 2000s, Barracuda was a popular celebrity hangout, and it was frequently the site of promotional events for new music and Broadway plays. While closed for much of 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the venue underwent a major renovation. It reopened in June 2021. Critics generally praise Barracuda for its intimate, relaxed and entertainment-focused atmosphere, which was unusual at the time of its creation, and some credit this with revolutionizing the concept of gay bars.

The School of Visual Arts New York City (SVA NYC) is a private for-profit art school in New York City. It was founded in 1947 and is a member of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design.

El Quijote is a Spanish restaurant in the Hotel Chelsea in the New York City borough of Manhattan. The eatery has been in the same location (226 West 23rd Street) for some 88 years and, after being sold by the original owning family (under the final aegis of Manny Ramirez) to Chelsea Hotels, it was closed for renovations. The new proprietors have kept the authentic Spanish feel of the place which was reopened in 2022.

The Church of St. Columba is a Roman Catholic parish church in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York, located at 343 W 25th St, Manhattan (Chelsea), New York City. The parish was established in 1845.

Ushiwakamaru is a Japanese restaurant in New York City. The restaurant has received a Michelin star.

The Hotel Chelsea (also the Chelsea Hotel or the Chelsea) is a hotel in Manhattan, New York City, built between 1883 and 1885. The 250-unit hotel is located at 222 West 23rd Street, between Seventh and Eighth Avenues, in the neighborhood of Chelsea. It has been the home of numerous writers, musicians, artists and actors. Though the Chelsea no longer accepts new long-term residents, the building is still home to many who lived there before the change in policy. Arthur C. Clarke wrote 2001: A Space Odyssey while staying at the Chelsea, and poets Allen Ginsberg and Gregory Corso chose it as a place for philosophical and artistic exchange. It is also known as the place where the writer Dylan Thomas was staying in room 205 when he became ill and died several days later, in a local hospital, of pneumonia on November 9, 1953, and where Nancy Spungen, girlfriend of Sid Vicious of the Sex Pistols, was found stabbed to death on October 12, 1978. Arthur Miller wrote a short piece, "The Chelsea Affect", describing life at the Chelsea Hotel in the early 1960s.The building has been a designated New York City landmark since 1966, and on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977.

Penn South, officially known as Mutual Redevelopment Houses and formerly Penn Station South, is a limited-equity housing cooperative development located between Eighth and Ninth Avenues and West 23rd and 29th Streets, in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The complex has 2,820 units in ten 22-story buildings. Penn South is so named because of its location southwest of New York Penn Station.

The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (shorter UCB Theatre) is an American improvisational theatre company and training center founded by the Upright Citizens Brigade troupe members Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh.Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, UCB had locations in the New York City neighborhoods of Hell's Kitchen and the East Village, and on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. UCB was located in Chelsea West 26th Street location from April 2003 until November 2017, after which it moved to Hell's Kitchen, 555 West 42nd Street in December 2017. The second NYC theatre located in the East Village opened in 2011, and the Los Angeles expansion started in 2014.Members of the Upright Citizens Brigade originally trained with Del Close at Chicago's ImprovOlympic where they created their signature ASSSSCAT show, the success of which led to the troupe founding the UCB Theatre in New York City.
