Farnhurst is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The site of two historic hospitals (one now gone) and a number of cemeteries, the community once had a post office, school, and rail station.

Minquadale is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. It is the location of the southernmost interchange between Interstate 495 and US 13. It was the site of the Lobdell Estate, Minquadale Home. The Minquadale Community Methodist Church was built in 1943.

Lobdell Estate, Minquadale Home, also known as the Minquadale Home for Aged Men, was a historic home and retirement home located at Minquadale near Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built in 1864, and was a two and a half-story, five bays wide, stuccoed, and gable-roofed dwelling in the Italianate style. It featured large decorative brackets and a large cupola atop the roof. It was originally built by George Lobdell, a manufacturer of car wheels, as a summer home. In 1891, his vacation house was made over into a retirement home for Lobdell's employees of both sexes.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973. It was demolished between 1984 and 2002.

Dunleith is a suburb of Wilmington, in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. It was built in the early 1950s, and was the first housing development marketed for African-Americans in Delaware. In 1990, the population was 2,600.

The Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) is a bi-state government agency of the U.S. states of New Jersey and Delaware established by an interstate compact in 1962. The authority operates the Delaware Memorial twin suspension bridges, the Cape May-Lewes Ferry between Cape May, New Jersey, and Lewes, Delaware, the Forts Ferry Crossing, and the Salem County Business Center. The authority operates several aviation facilities in both New Jersey and Delaware, including Wilmington Airport (ILG), Cape May Airport, Millville Airport, Delaware Airpark and the Civil Air Terminal at Dover AFB. The Wilmington Airport (ILG) is the largest air facility operated by the DRBA and is an FAA back-up facility to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

Holloway Terrace is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. Holloway Terrace is located on the outskirts of the city of Wilmington along Delaware Route 9 and Interstate 295, southwest of the Port of Wilmington.

Wilmington Manor is a census-designated place (CDP) in north-eastern New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The population was 7,889 at the 2010 census.

The Pencader Charter High School of Business & Finance was a high school in New Castle, Delaware that opened in August 2006. It opened with 350 students (200 freshman, 150 sophomores) and was the first high school in Delaware with a business and finance focus. The plan was to enroll 200 students each year thereafter and achieve a student population of 800 by the Fall of 2009. As of 2012, it had approximately 410 students. It had two nearly identical buildings overlooking the Delaware River. It shared many of the same characteristics as The Charter School of Wilmington including a required yearly commitment, a selective admissions process, a block schedule, free bus transportation, no tuition, and a dress code including khakis and Pencader polo shirts, button-down long sleeve or short sleeve, sweater vest, or sweater.Pencader Charter was known on a state level through its involvement with athletics, and extracurricular groups.

Glebe House is a historic house located at New Castle, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built between 1821 and 1823 as the glebe house of the rector of Immanuel Church. The house consists of three sections, all brick: a 2+1⁄2-story plus attic, three bay section; a lower middle section of three bays with a shed roof; and a north section comprising the original kitchen.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

The Pratt Student Center opened in 2013 after a remodeling of the Pratt Gymnasium. The Pratt Gymnasium was a 600-seat multi-purpose arena in New Castle, Delaware, on the campus of Wilmington University. It was home to the Wilmington University Wildcats and formerly the home of the Delaware Stars, a basketball team in the USBL.

The Hermitage was a historic home located at New Castle, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built between about 1700 and 1818, and consisted of three brick sections. The oldest section was the 2+1⁄2-story west wing. There was a two-story, rear kitchen wing, with servant's quarters above. The main section was built in 1818, and was a two-story, three-bay structure. It was built by U.S. Senator Nicholas Van Dyke (1770–1826) as a farm and summer retreat for his family.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.The Hermitage was heavily damaged by fire between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on February 18, 2007, in an act of arson. Following the fire, the two oldest sections of the house were completely destroyed, with only the walls left standing. The newer section (circa 1810) of the house was relatively intact, including a marble fireplace in the front, and a carved and gesso mantle and woodwork in the rear. Declared a safety hazard by the city of New Castle, the remains of the Hermitage were torn down in 2009. Nothing was salvaged.

First State National Historical Park is a National Park Service unit which lies primarily in the state of Delaware but which extends partly into Pennsylvania in Chadds Ford. Initially created as First State National Monument by President Barack Obama under the Antiquities Act on March 25, 2013, the park was later redesignated as First State National Historical Park by Congress.
