The Pratt Student Center opened in 2013 after a remodeling of the Pratt Gymnasium. The Pratt Gymnasium was a 600-seat multi-purpose arena in New Castle, Delaware, on the campus of Wilmington University. It was home to the Wilmington University Wildcats and formerly the home of the Delaware Stars, a basketball team in the USBL.

William Penn High School, also known as William Penn or simply Penn, is a four-year comprehensive, coeducational public high school located in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, United States. It is adjacent to the New Castle city limits and has a New Castle postal address. The school is a member of the Colonial School District, and is the largest high school in the state of Delaware. The school mascot is the Colonial. In addition to New Castle the school district includes Delaware City, Port Penn, St. Georges, Wilmington Manor, portions of Wilmington, and half of Bear.

The Hermitage was a historic home located at New Castle, New Castle County, Delaware. It was built between about 1700 and 1818, and consisted of three brick sections. The oldest section was the 2+1⁄2-story west wing. There was a two-story, rear kitchen wing, with servant's quarters above. The main section was built in 1818, and was a two-story, three-bay structure. It was built by U.S. Senator Nicholas Van Dyke (1770–1826) as a farm and summer retreat for his family.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.The Hermitage was heavily damaged by fire between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on February 18, 2007, in an act of arson. Following the fire, the two oldest sections of the house were completely destroyed, with only the walls left standing. The newer section (circa 1810) of the house was relatively intact, including a marble fireplace in the front, and a carved and gesso mantle and woodwork in the rear. Declared a safety hazard by the city of New Castle, the remains of the Hermitage were torn down in 2009. Nothing was salvaged.

Wilmington Manor is a census-designated place (CDP) in north-eastern New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The population was 7,889 at the 2010 census.

Delaware Valley Classical School is a private, K-12 classical Christian school located in New Castle, Delaware. For the 2023–24 academic year, enrollment was approximately 190 students, with approximately 30 faculty and staff.

First State National Historical Park is a National Park Service unit which lies primarily in the state of Delaware but which extends partly into Pennsylvania in Chadds Ford. Initially created as First State National Monument by President Barack Obama under the Antiquities Act on March 25, 2013, the park was later redesignated as First State National Historical Park by Congress.

Stonum, also called Stoneham, is a historic house at 900 Washington Avenue in New Castle, Delaware. Its main section built about 1750, it was the country home of George Read (1733-1798), a signer of the Declaration of Independence. His advocacy enabled Delaware to become the first state ratifying the declaration. The house was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1973. It is the only building standing associated with this Founding Father.

Lesley-Travers Mansion, also known as the Deemer House, Travers House, and Lesley House, is a historic home located at New Castle, New Castle County, Delaware. It was designed by noted Baltimore architects Thomas and James Dixon and built in 1855. It has a two-story, five-bay, brick core with several appendages and wings. It has a castle-like appearance, with a slate-covered steeply pitched gable roof and five-story tower, and is in the Gothic Revival style.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Farnhurst is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The site of two historic hospitals (one now gone) and a number of cemeteries, the community once had a post office, school, and rail station.

The Bellanca Airfield Museum is an aviation museum located in New Castle, Delaware focused on the history of Bellanca Airfield.

The Bellanca Airfield was an airfield, aircraft plant, and service hangar built in 1928 by Giuseppe Bellanca and Henry B. DuPont in New Castle, Delaware. Located off Route 273 near the Delaware River, the plant produced approximately 3000 aircraft before closing in 1954. The only surviving part of the airfield is the former Air Service, Inc. hangar, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

New Castle is a city in New Castle County, Delaware, United States. The city is located six miles (10 km) south of Wilmington and is situated on the Delaware River. As of 2020, the city's population was 5,551. New Castle constitutes part of the Delaware Valley or Philadelphia metropolitan area.
