The Chelsea-Elliott Houses is a combined housing project of the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), located between West 25th and 27th Streets and Ninth and Tenth Avenues in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. It consists of two contiguous projects which were originally separate but have been combined for administrative purposes: the John Lovejoy Elliott Houses, named after the founder of the Hudson Guild, has four 11- and 12-story buildings which accommodate over 1400 residents in 589 apartments. The Chelsea Houses has over 1,000 residents in 426 apartments within two 21-story buildings.

London Terrace is an apartment building complex located in Chelsea, Manhattan, New York City. It occupies an entire city block on Manhattan's West Side, bounded by Ninth Avenue to the east, Tenth Avenue to the west, 23rd Street to the south, and 24th Street to the north. Construction began in late 1929 and cost more than $25 million (equivalent to $394,525,000 in 2021) on what was to be the largest apartment buildings in the world.London Terrace has about 1,700 apartments in 14 contiguous buildings of 17 to 19 stories, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool. The complex was built by Henry Mandel Companies and the architectural firm Farrar & Watmough. The building is operated by two entities: London Terrace Towers is a co-op and managed by Douglas Elliman Property Management; London Terrace Gardens is a rental building, managed by Rose Associates.

500 West 25th Street, also known as The Emerson, is a mixed-use development consisting of a ten-story building located in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, at the corner of 25th Street and Tenth Avenue. The ground floor contains retail spaces, while residential units occupy the remaining floors. It is adjacent to the High Line elevated park and provides a view of the park and the Hudson River from each residence.The building was named after American poet and philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson. It was designed and developed by Michael David Kirchmann of GDSNY with GF55 Partners as the architect of record; construction started in 2016 and was completed in 2020. The building is situated on two lots that were formerly occupied by a single story car stereo store and a four-story apartment building, both of which were demolished to make way for the new development. The design of the building uses a grid of windows, columns, and beams and is clad in Alabama limestone. A distinctive feature of the structure is a cantilever on the upper three levels, which makes it one of only two structures with a cantilever along the High Line. The building is also one of only 24 properties in Manhattan to receive the New York City Green Property Certification (as 239 Tenth Avenue), which recognizes properties listed as among the safest in the city to live and work.

Avenues: The World School is an international system of for-profit private schools for toddler-12th grade. The first campus opened in September 2012 in New York City in the neighborhood of Chelsea. Avenues plans to open 20 or more campuses in other cities around the world over the next decade. The system is planned to be an integrated "learning community" with a shared vision, curriculum, technology, professional development of faculty and oversight by a centralized headquarters.

The R.C. Williams Warehouse is a Modern Movement style building in Chelsea, Manhattan, New York City designed by architect Cass Gilbert. It is located on the west side of 10th Avenue between 25th and 26th Streets and was built for a wholesale grocery company, the R.C. Williams Company. The design is a smaller version of Gilbert's design for the Brooklyn Army Terminal.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Avenues: The World School, a private school, now occupies the building.

Hill Art Foundation is a public exhibition and education space located in New York's Chelsea neighborhood. The foundation, founded by J. Tomilson and Janine Hill, opened to the public in February 2019. Located on 10th Ave and West 24th Street in Peter Marino's The Getty, the space exhibits works from the Hill Art Foundation collection as well as works on loan. The Foundation is free and open to the public and will offer educational programming for the public as well as for New York City high school students.

Chelsea Park is a park in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City, that dates back to 1910. The park has sports fields, basketball and handball courts, a children's playground and space for sitting. The surface is mostly tarmac or artificial turf, with pits for the plane trees and some plots with annual flower plantings. There is a statue to a World War I soldier, the "Doughboy Statue", erected in 1921. The process of approval, funding and clearing the tenements that occupied the site was protracted. The park has since been upgraded several times by the Works Progress Administration and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation.

The Getty Building (previously known as "Getty Station" or "Sheep Station") is a high-end luxury condominium located on the corner of 10th Avenue and 24th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan, New York City. It was originally a Getty Oil gas station and was turned into a public art display (known as "Sheep Station") in 2013 after being purchased by developer Michael Shvo. It featured a display of Lalanne mouton sculptures created by François-Xavier Lalanne which were from Shvo's personal collection. It was also considered the largest display of such sculptures by Lalanne.

Chelsea is a neighborhood on the West Side of the borough of Manhattan in New York City. The district's boundaries are roughly 14th Street to the south, the Hudson River and West Street to the west, and Sixth Avenue to the east, with its northern boundary variously described as near the upper 20s or 34th Street, the next major crosstown street to the north. The neighborhood is primarily residential, with a mix of tenements, apartment blocks, city housing projects, townhouses, and renovated rowhouses, but its many retail businesses reflect the ethnic and social diversity of the population. The area has a large LGBTQ population. Chelsea is also known as one of the centers of the city's art world, with over 200 galleries in the neighborhood. As of 2015, due to the area's gentrification, there is a widening income gap between the wealthy living in luxury buildings and the poor living in housing projects, who are, at times, across the street from each other. Chelsea is a part of Manhattan Community District 4 and Manhattan Community District 5, and its primary ZIP Codes are 10001 and 10011. It is patrolled by the 10th Precinct of the New York City Police Department.

23rd Street was a local station on the demolished IRT Ninth Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It had two levels. The lower level was built first and had two tracks and two side platforms. The upper level was built as part of the Dual Contracts and had one track that served express trains that bypassed the station. It opened on October 21, 1873 and closed on June 11, 1940. The next southbound stop was 14th Street. The next northbound stop was 30th Street.
