William M. Cashin House

The Orchard Hill Observatory is an astronomical observatory located at the highest point on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus. Constructed in 1965, the observatory is a red brick building with a 16-inch Cassegrain reflector optical telescope. It is used for several community events.

The University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Education is a college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Began in 1906 as the Department of Agricultural Education, changing its name to the Department of Education in 1932, and was organized as the School of Education starting in 1955. The school was first accredited in 1962. The college offers both undergraduate and graduate programs.The college houses the journal Equity and Excellence in Education that addresses social justice issues in education.

The University of Massachusetts Amherst School of Public Health and Health Sciences is a school at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Marshall Hall, otherwise known as Marshall Laboratory, was the first microbiology laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Constructed in 1916, it housed the college's microbiology department for a number of years, and was used extensively for bacteriology classes and research. The building was named for Dr. Charles Edward Marshall, the first professor of microbiology at the college, a director of the graduate school, and editor of a textbook on the subject, considered "a standard text for many years." As the microbiology department grew with the university, it soon became necessary for additional research laboratory space. In 1947 the Marshall Hall Annex was placed adjacent to the building; the annex was a former army barrack from Westover Army Airfield in Chicopee, and would continue to be used as a classroom space long after the demolition of its brick cohort. With the expansion and removal of the microbiology department to the Morrill Science Center, and years of substandard maintenance, the original Marshall Hall building was demolished in 1996. The new Integrated Science and Laboratory Science buildings now stand at the site of former microbiology laboratory.

The University of Massachusetts Amherst Elaine N. Marieb College of Nursing is a nursing college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The John W. Lederle Graduate Research Center, also known as Lederle Tower or LGRT, is a building in Amherst, Massachusetts. It is part of the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It contains research laboratories, conference rooms, and offices for many departments within the College of Natural Sciences. There is also a substantial amount of classroom space, formerly teaching laboratories, and a large seminar room. The building is also connected to the Lederle Lowrise and other surrounding buildings. The buildings adjacent Lowrise is home to the Science and Engineering Library, one of the two Libraries at the UMass Amherst Campus, the other being the W.E.B. Du Bois Library.

The William P. Brooks House, also known as Brooks Hall, is a dormitory in Amherst, Massachusetts that is built in the georgian revival style with art deco accents. It is named after former professor and president of Massachusetts Agricultural College, William P. Brooks. It is part of the Central Residential Area at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Brooks Hall was dedicated in 1948.It was designed by Louis W. Ross, who designed many of the dormitories on campus as well as the Student Union. In addition to his academic and administrative career, Brooks is credited as one of six Founders of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity in 1873 at Massachusetts Agricultural College.

The Blue Wall is a former dive bar and current food court at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Opening inside the Murray D. Lincoln Campus Center in the 1970s, the bar made upwards of $600,000 in the late 1970s (over $2,300,000 in 2013 dollars), and went through 1,800 kegs a year. This made it one of the largest beer-consuming establishments in the Northeastern United States. Following the raising of the drinking age to 21 in the United States, the bar experienced a decline in sales, before finally going dry in the 1980s. In the early 2000s, alcohol was again served, although it proved to be unprofitable. In 2014, the dining facility underwent an almost year-long nineteen million dollar renovation, which saw it connect to a nearby restaurant and increase seating capacity by thirty percent. The new combined area totals 42,000 square feet and has space for 900 customers. The campus center also includes several other food and drink options, including the UPub (bar for 21+), the grab and go Marketplace, and People's Organic Coffee.

The East Ridge Historical Area of UMass Amherst consists of several of the older lecture halls on campus, primarily those used by the entomology, plant pathology and other natural science programs. These buildings were originally located adjacent to the campus orchard where the Central Residential Area currently stands today. The district consists mainly of lecture halls that were built prior to the First World War by the Massachusetts Agricultural College; however, it is also home to the Boltwood-Stockbridge House, the oldest house in Amherst.

Murray D. Lincoln Campus Center is a high-rise building on the University of Massachusetts Amherst campus, in Amherst, Massachusetts.

The Justin S. Morrill Science Center, more commonly known as the Morrill Science Center is a research center, lecture hall, and faculty office complex serving the College of Natural Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. It comprises four buildings that contain research laboratories for several different programs, including the biochemistry, biology, geosciences, microbiology, and public health departments.

The Ellis Drive Historical Area is an older section of the UMass Amherst containing many of the university's earliest laboratory buildings. Several of these buildings have since been converted for other uses, but research still continues in many of them to this day.
