Sycamore Creek (Santa Clara County)

Uvas Reservoir is an artificial lake located west of Morgan Hill, California, in the United States. The reservoir is surrounded by a 626-acre (253 ha) park managed by the Santa Clara County Parks and Recreation Department. The park provides limited fishing ("catch-and-release"), picnicking, and hiking activities. Boating is not permitted in the reservoir.

Rancho Solis was a 8,875-acre (35.92 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Santa Clara County, California given in 1834 by Governor José Figueroa to Mariano Castro. The grant extended along Uvas Creek between present day Gilroy and Mount Madonna.

Lions Peak is a prominent hill in the eastern foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains in southwest Santa Clara County, California. The landmark lies west of San Martin, and is adjacent to the resort village of CordeValle. The headwaters of Lions Creek originate on the eastern flank of the hill, and flow southward before merging with Llagas Creek in Gilroy. The hill and surrounding area is located on approximately 1,400 acres (570 ha) of privately owned lands, and is viewable along U.S. Route 101 and California State Route 152 in South Santa Clara Valley.

CordeValle is a private golf course and spa resort on the West Coast of the United States, located near San Martin, California, southeast of San Jose. It is in the Santa Clara Valley, near the eastern edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The club's 1996 permit required that 60% of the golf rounds played be reserved for the general public, but the Club defines "general public" as including guests of members. In the resulting dispute with the county planning commission, the club agreed to create a Youth Golf Foundation, to pay for underprivileged youths to learn the game of golf at CordeValle or elsewhere. In exchange, the planning commission agreed to waive the requirement for 60% public play.Cordevalle is owned by Billionaire Hasso Plattner who is the Co-Founder of SAP and majority owner of the San Jose Sharks. The 2016 U.S. Women's Open was the 71st U.S. Women's Open, held July 7–10 at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, California, southeast of San Jose. The U.S. Women's Open is the oldest of the five current major championships and the third of the 2016 season. It has the largest purse in women's golf at $4.5 million, and was televised by Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports. Brittany Lang won her first major title in a playoff over Anna Nordqvist.

Twin Peaks are two prominent peaks along the foothills east of the Santa Cruz Mountains in Santa Clara County, California. The peaks are nestled between Uvas Reservoir to the west, and Paradise Valley in Morgan Hill to the east. The headwaters for Sycamore Creek rise from the eastern hillsides near these peaks. Although part of the Uvas Reservoir County Park, no trails currently lead to the peaks from the park side.

Eastman Canyon Creek is a perennial stream in Santa Clara County, California, United States. The headwaters rise on the eastern flank of Croy Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains, and flow eastward, eventually emptying into the Uvas Reservoir. Eastman Canyon Road follows alongside the creek for most of its length, ending at the intersection with Uvas Road.

The Frank Norris Cabin, also known as Redwood Retreat, was a retreat of the author Frank Norris in the Santa Cruz Mountains near Gilroy, California. A log cabin, it was only briefly owned by Norris before his untimely death in October 1902. A circular stone bench, the Frank Norris Memorial, was erected nearby by Fanny Stevenson, a close friend. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1962 for its association with Norris, whose novels McTeague and The Octopus: A Story of California are major American literary works of the turn of the 20th century.

Mount Madonna is a prominent peak located near the southern end of the Santa Cruz Mountains in southwest Santa Clara County, California. The iconic landmark is surrounded by a county park, and is viewable along U.S. Route 101 in South Santa Clara Valley, and California State Route 152 near Watsonville in south Santa Cruz County.

Llagas-Uvas is an unincorporated census county division (CCD) located on the eastern side of the Santa Cruz Mountains in southwest Santa Clara County, California. The area covers approximately 102 square miles (260 km2), much of it open space, and contains the Uvas and Chesbro reservoirs, as well as the Calero, Uvas Canyon, Rancho Cañada del Oro, and Mount Madonna county parks. As a result of the favorable Mediterranean climate, there are many wineries in the area, including Dorcich Family Vineyards, Sycamore Creek, Martin Ranch, Hecker Pass, Fernwood Cellars, Fortino, Kirigin Cellars, Solis, and Sarah's Vineyard. There are also several equestrian centers in the area, including Calero Ranch Stables, Cevalo Riding Academy, Five Star Farms, Great Strides, Hidden Creek, Legacy Oaks, and Bodfish Creek Ranch. As of the 2010 US Census, the population was 4,014 residents of whom 67.1% were non-Hispanic white, 20.1% Hispanic, 8.5% Asian, and 4.3% of other races, with a median age of 45.5 years old.
