Shillford

Uplawmoor railway station was a railway station serving the village of Uplawmoor, East Renfrewshire, Scotland as part of the Lanarkshire and Ayrshire Railway.

Loch Libo is a freshwater loch in East Renfrewshire, Parish of Neilston, Scotland. The Lugton Water has its source from the southern end of loch, running 14 miles before reaching its confluence with the River Garnock near Kilwinning. The village of Uplawmoor and the hamlet of Shillford lie nearby. 3 mi (4.8 km) away to the northeast is the town of Neilston.

Uplawmoor is a village in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. Its population was 700 as of 2016. Historic Uplawmoor, associated for centuries with the Barony of Caldwell and the Mure family, is still a vibrant community today, although bereft of the shops once to be found there. It has a primary school, hotel (Uplawmoor Hotel), village hall (Mure Hall), sports ground for tennis and football (including a playpark) and a golf club (Caldwell Golf Club). Nearby is the extensive Caldwell Estate with the roofless 18th century Caldwell House, which was designed by Robert Adam. The separate Caldwell Tower, of probable 16th century origin, is visible from the village. Several farms surround the village, as agriculture has always been of importance locally. Historically the village was served by two railway lines - Lanarkshire and Ayrshire and Glasgow, Barrhead and Kilmarnock Joint Railway Uplawmoor has a rural setting, with farmland on one side and mainly beech woodland (Pollick Glen and Shillford Woods, with numerous paths) on the other. Below lies the valley where are the A736 and Loch Libo, a Scottish Wildlife Trust Site Of Special Scientific Interest, the winter home of flocks of whooper swans. At the end of the loch is an area of large tussock sedges and on the far side is a striking waterfall among more woodland. The old hamlet of Shillford lies towards Neilston on the A736.

Craighall Reservoir, known locally as Craighall Dam, is one of a number of small reservoirs, situated around Neilston in East Renfrewshire, Scotland. The reservoir is located on the western slopes of Neilston Pad and has a number of well maintained public access paths. As of August 2020 it has an area of 5.9 hectares (0.059 km2).The reservoir was constructed in 1817 to store flood water that would ensure a constant supply of water to bleach works situated on Kirkton Burn. The reservoir flows into Craig Burn, a small stream which runs along the western side of Neilston Pad, past Craig o' Neilston farm before joining Kirkton Burn. It first appeared on Ordnance Survey maps in 1856.The reservoir is owned by Elderslie Estates.

Neilston Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Neilston, East Renfrewshire who currently play in the West of Scotland League First Division.

Foxbar is a district of Paisley, bordered by the Gleniffer Braes and Paisley town centre. Consisting mostly of residential areas, Foxbar has rapidly grown over the past century to be one of the largest housing areas in the town. An area of low socioeconomic levels and poor social mobility, the local authority (Renfrewshire Council) has invested significantly in the area, which nowadays boasts multiple community centres, public parks and social areas.

Neilston Pad, referred to locally as The Pad, is a distinctive hill in East Renfrewshire, situated a mile (1.5 km) south of the village of Neilston. Its highest point is 261 metres (856 ft) and is characterised by a relatively flat summit plateau surrounded by steep slopes and distinctive forestry on its eastern side. Its odd shape and prominence make it easily identifiable and visible from many areas in Glasgow. The area was managed by Elderslie Estates from the 1990s until it was sold to a private buyer or consortium in 2021.
