Gleniffer High School is a Scottish state state school school located in Paisley for boys and girls aged 11 to 18. Since 1988, Gleniffer has been located in Paisley's Foxbar district, close to the Gleniffer Braes in the west coast of Scotland, south of Glasgow.The school serves children from the geographical areas of Foxbar, Ferguslie Glenburn and Lochfield. The school's pupils come from a mix of social and private housing. With a pupil population of 1,226 as of September 2012, Gleniffer is the third largest of Renfrewshire's 11 state high schools (The largest is Park Mains, with a roll of 1,360). As of 2010, Gleniffer High was ranked the 128th state school in Scotland, as measured by the percentage of students (11%) achieving five Higher passes. Since this number fell down to 10% for Gleniffer at the 2011 exams, Gleniffer would now be ranked joint 147th on this league. The school was inspected in 2011/2012. The Education Scotland report cited the school to be "very good" on 5 key quality indicators. It therefore did not achieve the top rank of "outstanding" for any of the inspection criterion. The Head Teacher, Mr David Nicholls, told the local press he was "absolutely delighted by how positive this report is"; thus fulfilling his self-stated key duty to "promote and protect the school ... [to] ... parents, the media and politicians".

Stanely was a railway station to the west of Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.

Stanely Castle is located in the waters of Stanely Reservoir, to the south of Paisley, Scotland, at the foot of the Gleniffer Braes. It was probably built in the early 15th century, on an island within a marsh. The castle is now a ruin. Since 1837 it has been partially submerged by the reservoir, and is completely inaccessible. When the water is drained it can be seen that the castle stands on a narrow promontory, which is connected to the reservoir bank on the southwest.

Ferguslie was a railway station to the west of Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. It was constructed as a planned extension of railway passenger services in the Paisley area by the Paisley and Barrhead District Railway, which opened in 1897, but none of the stations opened for passengers. The line was only used for freight services and closed in 1960s. The track has been lifted and the station buildings removed.

Gleniffer Braes ("brae" being the Scots language word for the slope or brow of a hill) is a short range of hills and park area to the south of Paisley, Scotland which form the boundary of Renfrewshire and North Ayrshire.

Elderslie railway station was a railway station serving the west of Elderslie, Scotland, originally as part of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway (now the Ayrshire Coast Line).

Elderslie (Scottish Gaelic: Achadh na Feàrna) is a village in the council area and historic county of Renfrewshire in west central Scotland. It chiefly serves as a commuter village, situated midway between the towns of Paisley and Johnstone, and lies 11 miles (18 km) west of Glasgow city centre. Elderslie is most famous as the assumed birthplace of Scottish hero Sir William Wallace, a knight born around 1270 who served as a military leader in the Wars of Scottish Independence before being captured and executed. There is a monument to him in the village, alongside what is believed to be his home.

The Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) is the main hospital in Paisley serving a large catchment area stretching all the way to Oban and Argyll. The hospital is managed by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

Ferguslie Park is a residential suburb at the north-west extremity of Paisley in Renfrewshire, Scotland. It is bordered by the town of Linwood to the west and Glasgow Airport to the north. Ferguslie Park has history of being among the most deprived communities in Scotland. Attempts have been made at regeneration despite significant challenges.
