Beech Grove is designated an "excluded city" under Indiana law, as it is not part of the consolidated government of Indianapolis and Marion County.

Poplar Grove is situated 7 miles (11.3 km) southeast of downtown Indianapolis and is located just beyond the eastern border of Beech Grove, Indiana. The Marion County Fair is an annual fair held in Marion County, Indiana, United States. The fair was first held in 1930 and usually runs for ten days in late June, except that in 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the fair was moved to July 11–19. The fair maintains a rural theme despite being located in the most populous county in Indiana, with 4-H exhibits, live music, traditional dance shows, and historical displays. There was no fair between 1942 and 1945 because of World War II.

Christian Park School No. 82 is a historic school building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1931, and is a two-story, rectangular, Colonial Revival style brick building with a two-story addition built in 1955. It has a gable roof with paired end chimneys, balustrade, and an octagonal cupola.: 5–6 The building was originally known as "New" School 82 because it replaced "Old" School 82, which was a temporary building nearby on the same street. The student bodies from both "Old" School 82 and School 77 were merged into the new building when it opened. E. F Echolds was the first principal of the new school.The school was named for Christian Park, which is directly west of the school. After the death of the well-known physician Wilmer Christian in 1923, his wife Edna had donated 75 acres (30 ha) to the city of Indianapolis for a public park.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.

Horner–Terrill House is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built about 1875, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, roughly L-shaped, Second Empire style brick dwelling with limestone detailing. It features a three-story tower, mansard roof, and round arched openings. Also on the property is a contributing garage (c. 1930). It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The Indianapolis Speedrome is the oldest operating figure 8 track in the United States as it opened in 1941. It is believed by many historians that this is the first figure 8 track where cars intersect. The Speedrome is home to the World Figure 8 Championships, the Annual Spring Shootout, and the 3 Hour Endurance Race.The Speedrome is the USAC's most active track with 496 events held, and also produced Tony Stewart’s maiden USAC win on August 9, 1991.

The Benton House is a historic home located in Irvington, a historic neighborhood in Indianapolis, Indiana. Built in 1873, the home housed Allen R. Benton, a former president of Butler University, when it was known as North Western Christian University. It is a two-story, Second Empire style brick dwelling with a mansard roof. It sits on a rugged stone foundation and features an entrance tower and ornate windows.The Irvington Historic Landmarks Foundation was formed in 1966 to oversee the purchase and restoration of the Benton House. It now serves as a meeting place for the foundation and can be rented for private parties. All proceeds from events go toward the maintenance of the Benton House and future renovations. In 1973 the home was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.The Benton House is also listed as an Indiana Museum. It is the only house on the Indianapolis East Side listed in the Historic Register that is available to the public.

William H. H. Graham House, also known as the Stephenson Mansion, is a historic home located in the Irvington Historic District, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built in 1889, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, four-bay Colonial Revival style frame dwelling. The house features a front portico supported by four, two-story Ionic order columns added in 1923, and a two-story bay window. In the 1920s it was the home of D. C. Stephenson, head of the Indiana Ku Klux Klan.: 2–3 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
