Gourdon (French pronunciation: [ɡuʁdɔ̃] ; Occitan: Gordon) is a rural commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. The village of Gourdon is best known for the panoramic views it offers visitors.

Le Bar-sur-Loup (French pronunciation: [lə baʁ syʁ lu], lit. "Le Bar-on-Loup"; Occitan: So Barn; Italian: Albarno) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. Originally known simply as Le Bar, the commune was renamed Le Bar-sur-Loup by a decree dated 27 March 1961 published in the Journal officiel on 1 April, with effect from 2 April 1961.

Courmes (French pronunciation: [kuʁm]; Occitan: Cormes) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. It is part of Préalpes d'Azur Regional Natural Park. In 2020, Courmes had a population of 108. The Loup River, which marks the western border with Gourdon, offers scenic hikes in the area, renowned for its river gorges (Gorges du Loup), including around the Cascades du Saut du Loup between Courmes and Gourdon, as well as the Cascade de Courmes below.

Châteauneuf-Grasse (French: [ʃɑtonœf ɡʁas]; Occitan: Castèunòu de Grassa), alternatively known as names are Châteauneuf de Grasse or simply Châteauneuf, is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. Châteauneuf-Grasse is situated on the French Riviera, just over 4 km (2.4 mi) from Grasse and 21 km (13 mi) from Cannes; it borders the villages of Plascassier and Opio. It extends across 895 hectares (2,211 acres) and has a population of over 3,600 inhabitants. It is divided into two districts: Pré-du-Lac (where most of the commerce is found) and Le Vignal.

Le Rouret (French pronunciation: [lə ʁuʁɛ]; Occitan: Lo Roret) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France.

Opio (French pronunciation: [ɔpjo]; Occitan: Opiá) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France situated near Grasse.

The OCA–DLR Asteroid Survey (ODAS) was an astronomical survey to search for small Solar System bodies focusing on near-Earth objects in the late 1990s. This European scientific project was a collaboration between the French Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur (OCA) and the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The survey is credited for the discovery of one comet and more than 1000 minor planets during 1996–1999.

Tourrettes-sur-Loup (French pronunciation: [tuʁɛt syʁ lu]; Occitan: Torretas de Lop) is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. It has been called Tourrettes-sur-Loup ever since the early twentieth century although prior to that it was known as Tourrettes-les-Vence, a name that arose in the sixteenth century and lasted until the French revolution. This is an artisan's village situated near Vence. It features medieval and Romanesque buildings. Situated 14 km from the Mediterranean coast, between Vence and Grasse, Tourrettes-sur-Loup is predominantly a tourist village however it does have a rich historical background. Tourrettes-sur-Loup has a population of just over 4,000 residents. Inhabitants of the village are known as Tourrettans in French.

Plascassier is located between Valbonne (2.8 km) and Grasse (7 km) and only 31 km away from Nice airport. Although bordered by several communes—Valbonne, Opio, Mouans-Sartoux and Châteauneuf-de-Grasse—it falls under the jurisdictional umbrella of Grasse. French singer Édith Piaf died here on October 10, 1963.

La Pitchoune is a small stucco house that Julia Child and her husband, Paul, built in the Provençal village of Plascassier in France in the early 1960s. La Pitchoune is a Provençal expression for "the little one", deriving from the Occitan word pichon. The cottage was built on property belonging to Simone Beck and her husband Jean Fischbacher with a "handshake" promise they would turn it over to the Fischbachers when they finished their use. The Childs began construction in 1963 and occupied the property shortly thereafter. "La Pitchoune" was often lovingly shortened to "La Peetch", and the Childs visited the property yearly. Here they entertained the culinary likes of James Beard and M. F. K. Fisher. Following the deterioration of Paul's health and the death of long-time friend Simone Beck in December 1991, Julia relinquished the property in June 1992. She later recalled that La Pitchoune had lost its "raison d’être" without Paul or Simone and that she had no regrets giving up the property.

The CERGA Observatory (French: Centre de recherches en géodynamique et astrométrie; obs. code: 010) was a scientific department and astronomical station of the Côte d'Azur Observatory in southern France, where several asteroids were discovered during 1984–1993.

Valbonne (French pronunciation: [valbɔn]; Occitan: Vauboa) is a commune near Nice in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. Valbonne means "the good valley" in Provençal and translates to "Vaubona" in Occitan. The commune is part of the Communauté d'agglomération de Sophia Antipolis. The technology park of Sophia Antipolis is partly located in Valbonne.
