Saclay (French: [sa.klɛ]) is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 18.7 km (11.6 mi) from the centre of Paris. It is best known for the large scientific facility CEA Saclay, mostly dealing with nuclear and particle physics.

HEC Paris (French: École des hautes études commerciales de Paris, lit. 'Paris School of Advanced Business Studies') is a business school and grande école located in Jouy-en-Josas, a southwestern outer suburb of Paris, France. The Centre de perfectionnement aux affaires de Paris (CPA Paris) is a French private higher technical education establishment created in 1929 by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry under the name Centre de perfectionnement aux affaires. Its original mission was to pragmatically train business management professionals using new teaching methods, in particular those of Harvard University with the help of Georges Doriot, one of the first French graduates.In 1999, the CPA was integrated into the École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris and has been running the “Executive MBA” program since 2002. The CPA is headquartered in Paris but offers its programs in Jouy-en-Josas.Following the model of the CPA Paris, other CPA have been created by chambers of commerce and industry from other regions of France (Lyon, Nice, Toulouse, Lille, etc.). The Groupement de Recherche et d’Etudes en Gestion à HEC Paris (GREGHEC) is a CNRS - HEC Paris joint research laboratory. It is located on the HEC campus in Jouy-en-Josas. GREGHEC is one of the largest joint research laboratories in the fields of economics and management in France.

Paris-Saclay University (French: Université Paris-Saclay) is a combined technological research institute and public research university in Paris, France. Paris-Saclay was established in 2019 after the merger of four technical grandes écoles, as well as several technological institutes, engineering schools, and research facilities; giving it fifteen constituent colleges with over 48,000 students combined.With the merger, the French government has explicitly voiced their wish to rival top American technological research institutes, such as the MIT. The university has over 275 laboratories in particle physics, nuclear physics, astrophysics, atomic physics and molecular physics, condensed matter physics, theoretical physics, electronics, nanoscience and nanotechnology. It is the main centre of education for nuclear energy in France.

Jouy-en-Josas (French pronunciation: [ʒwi ɑ̃ ʒozas] ) is a commune in the Yvelines department in the Île-de-France region in Northern France. It is located in the southwestern outer suburbs of Paris, 16.4 km (10.2 mi) from the centre of Paris, on the departmental border with Essonne. Jouy-en-Josas is home to the main campus of HEC School of Management (HEC Paris).

Paris-Saclay is a research-intensive and business cluster currently under construction in the south of Paris, France. It encompasses research facilities, two French major universities with higher education institutions (grandes écoles) and also research centers of private companies. In 2013, the Technology Review put Paris-Saclay in the top 8 world research clusters. In 2014, it comprised almost 15% of French scientific research capacity. The earliest settlements are from the 1950s, and this area was subsequently extended several times during the 1970s and 2000s. Several projects are underway to continue the development of the campus, including the relocation of some facilities. The area is now home to many of the Europe's largest high-tech corporations, and to the two French universities Paris-Saclay University (CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, Paris-Saclay Faculty of Science, etc.) and the Polytechnic Institute of Paris (École Polytechnique, Telecom Paris, etc.). The Paris-Saclay University was ranked 15th in the world in the 2023 ARWU ranking. It was also placed 1st in the world for Mathematics and 9th in the world for Physics (1st in Europe).The goal was to strengthen the cluster to build an international scientific and technological hub that can compete with other high-technology business districts, such as Silicon Valley or Cambridge, MA. This project started in 2006 and is likely to end in 2022. The main part is the construction of the campus du plateau de Saclay.
