L'Institut national des sciences et techniques nucléaires (INSTN, National Institute for Nuclear Science and Technology), is a public higher education institution administered by the CEA (French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission) under the joint authority of the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education and Research, the Ministry of the Economy, Industry and the Digital Sector and the Ministry of the Environment, Energy and Marine Affairs. It is the main centre of education for nuclear energy in France.

The Polytechnic Institute of Paris (French: Institut polytechnique de Paris) is a public technological university located in Palaiseau, France. It consists of five engineering grandes écoles: École polytechnique, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis. With the Paris-Saclay University, the Polytechnic Institute of Paris is part of the Paris-Saclay project, which is a research-intensive academic campus and business cluster being developed on the Plateau de Saclay near Paris. The project integrates several engineering schools and research centers that are part of the world's top research organizations in various fields.The technological university was formed around the École polytechnique, one of the most respected and selective grandes écoles in France. Among its alumni and teachers are five Nobel prize winners, two Fields medalists, three presidents of France and many CEOs of French and international companies.

École polytechnique universitaire de Paris-Saclay (Polytech Paris-Saclay) a French engineering College created in 2004.The school trains engineers in four sectors : electronics, computing, materials and optronics.Located in Orsay, Polytech Paris-Saclay is a public higher education institution. The school is a member of the Paris-Saclay University.

Paris-Saclay is a research-intensive and business cluster currently under construction in the south of Paris, France. It encompasses research facilities, two French major universities with higher education institutions (grandes écoles) and also research centers of private companies. In 2013, the Technology Review put Paris-Saclay in the top 8 world research clusters. In 2014, it comprised almost 15% of French scientific research capacity. The earliest settlements are from the 1950s, and this area was subsequently extended several times during the 1970s and 2000s. Several projects are underway to continue the development of the campus, including the relocation of some facilities. The area is now home to many of the Europe's largest high-tech corporations, and to the two French universities Paris-Saclay University (CentraleSupélec, ENS Paris-Saclay, Paris-Saclay Faculty of Science, etc.) and the Polytechnic Institute of Paris (École Polytechnique, Telecom Paris, etc.). The Paris-Saclay University was ranked 15th in the world in the 2023 ARWU ranking. It was also placed 1st in the world for Mathematics and 9th in the world for Physics (1st in Europe).The goal was to strengthen the cluster to build an international scientific and technological hub that can compete with other high-technology business districts, such as Silicon Valley or Cambridge, MA. This project started in 2006 and is likely to end in 2022. The main part is the construction of the campus du plateau de Saclay.

The Communauté d'agglomération Paris-Saclay (or CPS) is an administrative entity in the Essonne département, near Paris. The administrative center is Orsay. It was formed on 1 January 2016 by the merger of the former Communauté d'agglomération du Plateau de Saclay (CAPS) and the Communauté d'agglomération Europ'Essonne(E²). Its area is 185.9 km2. Its population was 314,169 in 2018.

The Computer Science Laboratory for Mechanics and Engineering Sciences (LIMSI) was a CNRS pluri-disciplinary science laboratory in Orsay, France. LIMSI academics and scholars come primarily from the Engineering and Information Sciences fields, but also from Cognitive Science and Linguistics. LIMSI is associated with the Paris-Sud University. LIMSI also collaborates with other universities and engineering schools within the University Paris-Saclay.

École supérieure d'électricité, commonly known as Supélec (French pronunciation: [sypelɛk]), was a French graduate school of engineering. It was one of the most prestigious grande écoles in France in the field of electrical engineering, energy and information sciences. In 2015, Supélec merged with École Centrale Paris and became CentraleSupélec, a constituent member of Université Paris-Saclay. Founded in 1894 and initially located in the 15th district of Paris, it was moved to Gif-sur-Yvette in 1975. Since then, two more campuses have been established, in Rennes in 1972 and Metz in 1985. It is a member of Top Industrial Managers for Europe (TIME) network. It is also a member of the CESAER Association and n+i Engineering Studies.

CentraleSupélec (CS) is one of the most prestigious and selective grandes écoles in France and is a member of the graduate engineering school of Paris-Saclay University in Gif-sur-Yvette, France. It was established on 1 January 2015, as a result of a strategic merger between two prestigious grandes écoles in France, École Centrale Paris and Supélec. CentraleSupélec is also considered to be among the best engineering schools of France and most elite institutions in Europe, with an admission rate of 6 to 8% in 2019. It is one of the constituent members of Paris-Saclay University.It is a key founding member of the Paris-Saclay University, the TIME (Top Industrial Managers for Europe) network and also the CESAER association of European engineering schools.

The École Spéciale de Mécanique et d'Electricité (English: Special School of Mechanics and Electricity), also known as ESME Sudria is a French private grande école founded in 1905. It is a part of the IONIS Education Group.Founded in 1905 by Joachim Sudria and certified by the State since 1922, the diploma is signed by the French Education Ministry and authorized by the "Commission des titres d'ingénieur". The ESME-Sudria is also member of the "Conférence des Grandes Écoles" and of the Union of Independent Grandes Écoles. Students & graduates of the school are called the Sussus. The school graduates students at different levels: Bachelor of Science Master of Engineering certified by the Order of Engineers PhD (cooperation with University of Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée or University of Paris-Saclay)Since 2006, the school has been part of the IONIS Institute of Technology from IONIS Education Group.In 2014, the university will open a new campus in Beijing and a Mastère en sciences course in partnership with the Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology.

The Parc botanique de Launay (90 hectares), sometimes known as the Parc botanique d'Orsay or the Parc de l'Université Paris XI, is a botanical garden located on the Université Paris-Sud XI campus at 3 rue Georges-Clemenceau, Orsay, Essonne, Île-de-France, France, and open daily; admission is free.

The Institut d'astrophysique spatiale (IAS; English: Institute of Space Astrophysics) is a French research institute supporting advanced research in aerospace and astrophysics. It is located in Orsay, just south of Paris. It is a public research institute in a partnership with the University of Paris-Saclay.
