CSSC Offshore & Marine Engineering (Group) Company Limited (COMEC), formerly Guangzhou Shipyard International Company Limited (GSI), is the largest modern integrated shipbuilding enterprise based in Southern China. It was founded in 1954 and is parented by China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). It was reorganized and issued H share in Hong Kong Stock Exchange and A-share in Shanghai Stock Exchange in 1993 respectively. It is also the only shipbuilding stock listed in Hong Kong.It is engaged in the construction and trading of vessels; manufacturing and trading of steel structure and mechanical and electrical equipment, container transportation services and ship repair services. It has shipyards in Guangzhou and Foshan in Guangdong Province respectively. Its Chairman is Li Zhushi.Benefited by Chinese central government Eleventh Five-Year Plan and international flourishing shipbuilding market, the company has seen many-fold net profit rise since 2006.

Hedong Station (Chinese: 鹤洞站), formerly Baihedong Station (白鹤洞站) during planning, is a station on Guangfo Line. It is located under Hedong Road (鹤洞路) in Fangcun, Liwan District, Guangzhou. It entered operation on December 28, 2015.

Shayuan Station (Chinese: 沙园站) is an interchange station of Guangzhou Metro Line 8 and Guangfo Line. It is located at the underground of the junction of Rongjing Road and Gongye Avenue North in Haizhu District. It was put into service on November 3, 2010. The Guangfo Line service has entered operations on December 28, 2015.

Fenghuang Xincun Station (Chinese: 凤凰新村站) is a station on Line 8 of the Guangzhou Metro. The underground station is located on Gongye Avenue North (工业大道北) in the Haizhu District. The station opened on November 3, 2010 after a delay caused by the cooling tower at Shayuan Station. It was the terminus of the line until December 28, 2019 when the line was extended to Cultural Park station.

Huadiwan Station (simplified Chinese: 花地湾站; traditional Chinese: 花地灣站; Jyutping: faa1 dei2 waan1 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Fādéiwāan Jaahm) is a metro station on Line 1 of the Guangzhou Metro that started operations on 28 June 1997. It is situated under Huadi Avenue North (花地大道北) in the Liwan District of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, China. It is near the Huadi Bird Fish & Insect Market (花地花鸟虫鱼市场).The station is unique in being the only station on the Guangzhou Metro to use 'cut and cover' construction. The station is located in a large single-vault tunnel with two side platforms and two mezzanine-style concourses –one at each end of the platform. Half-height platform-edge-doors are used.

The Battle of Macao Fort was fought between British and Chinese forces in the Pearl River, Guangdong, China on 4 January 1857 during the Second Opium War. Macao Fort was located on an islet about 3 miles (4.8 kilometres) south of Canton (Guangzhou).

Kengkou Station (Chinese: 坑口站; Jyutping: haang1hau2 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Hāangháu Jaahm) is a station of Line 1 of the Guangzhou Metro. It started operations on 28 June 1997. It was located at the ground level of the junction of Huadi Avenue Middle and Longxi Avenue in Fangcun, Liwan District. It is adjacent to Fangcun Coach Station (Chinese: 芳村客运站), the transportation hub for the western area of the Pearl River Delta.

Fangcun Station (Chinese: 芳村站; Jyutping: fong1cyun1 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Fōngchyūn Jaahm) is a station on Line 1 of the Guangzhou Metro that started operation on 28 June 1997. It will be served by Line 11 and Line 22 in future.It is situated under the junction of Huadi Avenue North (花地大道北) and Fangcun Avenue Middle (芳村大道中) in Fangcun in the Liwan District. The station has four main exits (A-D) at each of the four corners of the concourse. There are two platforms on an island linked to the concourse by two banks of escalators and two stairways. Facilities include an ATM and a convenience store. The station is popular with revellers visiting the popular Bai'etan riverside bar street on Changdi Street approx 10 minutes walk from the station, as well as shoppers going to the large superstore located nearby.

Baogang Dadao Station (Chinese: 宝岗大道站; lit. 'Baogang Avenue station'), known as Changgang Zhonglu Station (昌岗中路站) during planning, is a metro station on Line 8 of the Guangzhou Metro. The underground station is located on Changgang Middle Road in the Haizhu District. The station opened on November 3, 2010 after a delay caused by the cooling tower at Shayuan Station.

Xilang station (Chinese: 西塱站; Jyutping: sai1long5 zaam6; Cantonese Yale: Sāilóhng Jaahm ), formerly Guanggang station because of nearby Guangzhou Iron and Steel's headquarters when planning, is a terminus of Line 1 of the Guangzhou Metro and Guangfo Line (FMetro Line 1). It started operations on 28 June 1997. It was situated at the underground of Huadi Avenue South in Fangcun, Liwan District.During COVID-19 pandemic control rules from 29 May to 24 June 2021, services of Xilang station had been largely restricted, as all entrances and exits are closed, passengers can't embark or disembark at this station, and while the trains on both lines can still stop here, passengers can only transfer between both lines within the fare zone. The entrance has reopened in the afternoon of 24 June.

The Battle of Guangzhou was an internal conflict within the National Revolutionary Army in the aftermath of Chiang Kai-shek's successes in the Northern Expedition. It occurred shortly after the Chinese Communist Party-led Guangzhou Uprising, which was crushed by Li Jishen's opponent Zhang Fakui. On December 28, 1927, Li Jishen's forces were able to capture Guangzhou, and Miao Peinan retreated to Huizhou. On December 29, 1927, local leader Li Fulin, an opponent of Li Jishen, was removed from office and replaced with Deng Yanhua.

The White Swan Hotel (simplified Chinese: 白天鹅宾馆; traditional Chinese: 白天鵝賓館; pinyin: báitiān'é bīnguǎn; Jyutping: baak6 tin1 ngo4 ban1 gun2) is a 28-story luxury hotel in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, located on Shamian Island, overlooking the Pearl River and facing the White Swan Pool. The hotel is reached by its own private 635 metres (2,083 ft) causeway.
