The Fulton County Courthouse, built between 1911 and 1914, is an historic courthouse building located at 136 Pryor Street SW in Atlanta, seat of Fulton County, Georgia. It was designed by noted Atlanta-based architect A. Ten Eyck Brown (1878–1940), along with the Atlanta firm of Morgan & Dillon. It is officially the Lewis R. Slaton Courthouse. On September 18, 1980, the original building was added to the National Register of Historic Places. An annex across the street is connected via skywalk. Both are located in South Downtown. On March 11, 2005, Brian Nichols killed three people, including a judge and a police sergeant, while escaping from the courthouse. He later killed an off-duty federal agent before being recaptured.

The M. Rich Building, also known as the M. Rich and Brothers and Company Building and the W. T. Grant Building at 82 Peachtree Street SW (formerly 52-54-56 Whitehall), Atlanta, is a landmark building significant for both architectural and commercial reasons. It housed Rich's department store from the time it was completed in 1907 until it moved into its much larger premises at Broad and Alabama streets in 1924.In September 1882 Rich's moved to 54-56 Whitehall and in 1906, the adjacent M. Kutz & Co. building at 52 Whitehall was acquired. Both it and the Rich store at 54-56 Whitehall were torn down. Rich's closed its furniture annex and moved its dry goods to that building temporarily, while a new building was built on the site of 52-54-56 Whitehall designed by noted local architectural firm Bruce & Morgan. In April 1907 the new emporium opened for business.In 1924, Rich's moved to new, much larger Palazzo-style quarters at Broad and Alabama streets. From 1925 to 1974 the W. T. Shrine of the Immaculate Conception is the second oldest structure in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Designed by local architect William H. Parkins, the cornerstone was laid September 1, 1869 by the priest poet Abram Joseph Ryan. It was completed and dedicated in 1873 and is still in use. It replaced a wood-frame structure that was located on the same site, and that was famously saved from the burning of the city in 1864.

Underground Atlanta is a shopping and entertainment district in the Five Points neighborhood of downtown Atlanta, Georgia, United States, near the Five Points MARTA station. It is currently undergoing renovations. First opened in 1969, it takes advantage of the viaducts built over the city's many railroad tracks to accommodate later automobile traffic.

The Connally Building is located at 54 Peachtree Street (corner of Alabama Street) in Downtown Atlanta, adjacent to the Underground Atlanta retail center. It is a work of architect William Lee Stoddart, completed in 1916. The building has been so extensively renovated that it bears little resemblance to the original design, other than the terra cotta façade on the lower stories. This was originally a six-story office building with a terracotta facade, which replaced an earlier Connally Building on the site. In 1990, eleven stories were added and it was converted into a hotel. It has operated under the names Howard Johnson Plaza Suites, University Place at Underground, The Suite Hotel at the Underground, and most recently it became a Fairfield Inn & Suites.

Atlanta City Hall is the headquarters of the City of Atlanta government. It was constructed in 1930, and is located in Downtown Atlanta. It is a high-rise office tower very similar to dozens of other city halls built in the United States during the same time period. Located in South Downtown, it is near other governmental structures, such as the Georgia State Capitol and the Fulton County Courthouse. The Neo-Gothic structure features many architectural details that have helped to make the building a historical landmark. It is Atlanta’s fourth city hall.

The M.C. Kiser Company Building is a historic building in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. Located in the South Downtown neighborhood, it was built in 1923 as a shoe factory, converted to apartments in 2017, and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

South Downtown is a historic neighborhood of Downtown Atlanta, Georgia, United States. South Downtown is primarily home to city, county, state, and federal governmental offices, which prompted the city to adopt signage declaring the area "Government Walk." Although much of South Downtown is dominated by surface parking lots, the neighborhood was passed over during the redevelopment boom of the 1960s and 1970s that resulted in the demolition of much of Downtown's architecturally significant buildings. The result is myriad buildings from the 1950s and earlier that retain their historic structural integrity.

Miller's Rexall Drugs is a landmark hoodoo and homeopathic remedy shop in South Downtown Atlanta .Owner Donald Miller opened a Rexall pharmacy in 1960 and moved to the present location at 87 Broad St. in 1965. Miller, descended from Polish Jews, has been cited as an example that one does not have to be a hoodoo practitioner in order to sell hoodoo supplies. The store originally opened as an ordinary pharmacy but due to customer requests for homeopathic and hoodoo remedies, Miller started carrying them.In 1994, then-owner Richard Miller (Donald Miller's nephew) began a website and by 2010 Miller's Internet sales had risen to over $1 million per year, far exceeding sales from walk-in customers.In 1999, Paul McCartney happened upon the drugstore, saw "Run Devil Run" bath salts in the display window and bought them. He named his next album Run Devil Run after the salts. The store is pictured on the album cover but with the name "Miller's" changed to "Earl's".Miller's is one of several businesses still remaining in a block of Broad Street struggling to reverse a decline. The block was at the heart of what had been a busy shopping district including the flagship Rich's store, but which has continued to decline since the 1960s.

The Thomas E. Watson statue is a public monument located near the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta, Georgia. Dedicated in 1932, the statue honors Georgian politician Thomas E. Watson, who served terms in the United States Congress as both a Representative and Senator in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Originally located on the steps of the capitol building, the statue was removed from this location in 2013 and relocated to a nearby plaza.
