Elaionas (Greek: Ελαιώνας, pronounced [e.leˈo.nas], sometimes Anglicized as Eleonas) is a neighborhood in Central Athens, Greece. It is an industrial area and one of the most deprived areas of the municipality of Athens.

New Panathinaikos Stadium (also known as Votanikos Stadium) is a football stadium with an additional multi-use sports complex in Athens, Greece, that will host all departments of the Panathinaikos sports club set for completion in 2026. The complex will be located in the historic Votanikos neighborhood, west of Athens. The entire project includes the football stadium (seating 39,000), a volleyball, handball and basketball stadium (seating 3,100), swimming pool (seating 500), and gymnastics facilities. The Votanikos neighborhood currently houses mostly vacant, dilapidated storage and industrial facilities. The football stadium was to be ready for the 100 years of the club in 2008, with the rest of the complex completed by 2011. This construction was the idea of popular former president of Panathinaikos Thanasis Giannakopoulos. By October 2013, and due to the club's and the country's financial troubles, the construction of the Votanikos Arena had stopped and consequently the plans for the demolition of the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium were cancelled. In 2022, mayor of Athens Kostas Bakogiannis announced that the project is going to be implemented and its construction will last 3 years. The most significant part of the agreement between Panathinaikos and the Municipality of Athens was the fact that the team had to offer Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium in exchange of its new stadium. After the construction of the arenas, Panathinaikos will be the owner of the entire Votanikos Sport Complex for 99 years. The new football, basketball, volleyball arenas and other facilities will be ready at the start of 2026.. The construction works started on the 6th of April 2023.

The Mosque Of Athens (Greek: Ισλαμικό Τέμενος Αθηνών, romanized: Islamiko Temenos Athinon) or Athens Mosque (Greek: Τζαμί της Αθήνας, romanized: Tzami tis Athinas, lit. 'Athens Mosque') is a mosque in the Votanikos neighbourhood of Athens, Greece. It is the first official mosque in the Greek capital since the Greek War of Independence. Athens was the only European capital without a mosque until its construction. The project faced opposition from the Greek Orthodox Church and civil protests.

Laciadae or Lakiadai (Ancient Greek: Λακιάδαι) was a deme of ancient Attica on the Sacred Way between Sciron and the Cephissus, and near the sacred fig-tree. It is celebrated as the deme to which the family of Miltiades and Cimon belonged.The site of Laciadae is tentatively located at 37°59′36″N 23°41′59″E.

Athens "Kifissos" Bus Station, also known as KTEL Kifissos Bus station, is the busiest intercity bus station in Athens. It is the largest bus terminal in Athens and the second-largest in Greece, the largest being the Thessaloniki "Macedonia" Intercity Bus Station. It is located in Peristeri towards Kifissou Avenue or European route E75. There are a lot of routes to Peloponnese, Epirus, Macedonia and Ionian Islands. For Thessaly and Central Greece there are routes from the second intercity Bus Station of Athens in Patisia known as "Liosion Bus Station". Both of these stations will be replaced with the new Central bus station being built in Eleonas by 2025. The bus station is used exclusively by KTEL buses. According to the latest available data, the station serves daily 24–44 thousands of passengers and around 12 million passengers annually. Due to the new highways such as Olympia Odos, Ionia Odos the routes have increased by 30% since 2009. The main buildings of the station are old and inadequate for a central bus station of a city like Athens. Inside the station, there are 63 ticket offices, some cafeterias and kiosks, and public toilets. Athens International Airport is connected directly to Athens intercity bus station by city bus route X93 (Athens Mass Transit System). The buses set down passengers at the departures level and depart from the arrivals level of the airport, between exits 4 and 5. Bus route 051 connects the bus station with the Metaxourgeio metro station and Omonoia square. Bus route 052 connects directly the bus station and the Elaionas metro station of Line 3. Bus route 420 connects the station and the port of Piraeus.

Egaleo (Greek: Αιγάλεω, Aigaleo) is a station of Athens Metro Line 3. It was opened on 26 May 2007 as part of an extension from Monastiraki.

The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA; Greek: Γεωπονικό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών) is the third oldest university in Greece. Since 1920, it has made contributions to Greek agricultural and economic development, by conducting basic and applied research in Agricultural Science and Technology.The university is situated in the neighborhood of Votanikos, on a 25-hectare green campus that straddles both sides of the historic Iera Odos (the Sacred Way of antiquity), close to the Acropolis, at the heart of the ancient Olive Grove.

Lusia or Lousia (Ancient Greek: Λουσία) was a deme of ancient Attica, of the phyle Oeneïs, sending one delegate to the Athenian Boule. Stephanus of Byzantium notes it was named after a heroine named Lusia, a daughter of Hyacinthus the Lacedaemonian.The deme is attested in inscriptions; one a funerary inscription of a townsperson, another describing the deme's contributions to construction of the Eleusinion.The site of Lousia is in the Kephisos valley, west of modern Athens.

Kolokynthou (Greek: Κολοκυνθού pronounced [ko.lo.cinˈθu]) is a neighborhood of Athens, Greece. In the past, in this area there were farms and gardens. The neighbourhood's name likely relates with the Greek word kolokythi ("zucchini") that was ordinary in the gardens. Today this area is an industrial zone between Colonus and Peristeri.

Profitis Daniil (Greek: Προφήτης Δανιήλ pronounced [pɾoˈfi.tis ðaniˈil]) meaning 'Prophet Daniel' is a neighborhood of Athens, Greece. It takes its name from the main church on Athinon Avenue.

Attica (Greek: Περιφέρεια Αττικής, romanized: Periféria Attikís, [periˈferi.a atiˈcis]) is an administrative region of Greece, that encompasses the entire Athens metropolitan area, the core city of which is the country's capital and largest city, Athens. The region is coextensive with the former Attica Prefecture of Central Greece and covers a greater area than the historical region of Attica.

Votanikos (Greek: Βοτανικός, pronounced [votaniˈkos]) is a neighborhood in Athens, Greece. The area is named after a nearby botanical garden situated to the southwest (Athens Botanical Gardens). The eastern part are residential, the western part are forested and industrialized. The subdivision has no squares but has a nearby school. Major streets bordering this subdivision includes Patsi Street to the west, Athinon Avenue to the north, Konstantinopouleos Avenue and the rail to the south and Petrou Ralli Avenue to the south. The Iera Odos runs in the middle. The population is around 5,000–6,000 people and the area is about 0.5 km². Athens's first mosque will be in Votanikos district.
