Lake Mary Jane, Florida

Split Oak Forest Wildlife and Environmental Area is an area of wilderness conservation lands southeast of Orlando, Florida. It straddles the border of Orange County and Osceola County and is managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which has been granted a conservation easement over the property by the two counties. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's management plan for Split Oak Forest is "is to restore and maintain the habitats critical to the long-term benefit of state and federally listed upland species, particularly the gopher tortoise." A parkway extension project across the southern portion of the forest is proposed to provide vehicular access to an area of new development. The wilderness area includes prairie and scrub habitat, including sandhill terrain, and is home to gopher tortoises, sandhill cranes, eastern indigo snakes, fox squirrels, butterflies, woodpeckers, kestrels, various songbirds, and some rare plant species. There are trails throughout the Park for visitors. A Friends of Split Oak Forest group formed to try to protect the area from the intrusion of the road. A conservation land swap is proposed to mitigate impact from the road and this plan has received support from county commissioners and Charles Lee of the Florida Audubon Society. The Orlando Sentinel editorial board supports the road project with planned mitigation. A proposed Osceola Parkway extension is planned through the southern part of the preserve. The road project is one of many including extensive new toll roads being proposed through largely undeveloped areas engendering controversy during Governor Ron DeSantis' tenure.

Sunbridge is a master-planned community located in Central Florida, developed by Tavistock Development Company. The community, which opened in 2020, encompasses more than 27,000 acres across both Orange County, Florida and Osceola County, Florida in Central Florida between metro Orlando and the Space Coast. Inspired by Lake Nona, Orlando, Florida, Sunbridge mixes residential, recreational, businesses and civic elements to foster connections to nature. Sunbridge is located approximately 20 minutes south of Orlando International Airport and 6 miles from Tavistock’s Lake Nona community. It is bordered by the Alligator Chain of Lakes to the east and Lake Tohopekaliga to the west. The community is located near major highways, including Florida's Turnpike and Florida State Road 417.

Lake Hart is a census-designated place and an unincorporated area in Orange County, Florida, United States. The population was 542 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Eagle Creek Golf Club is an eighteen-hole golf course located in near the Lake Nona region of Orlando, Florida. The course has a par of 73 and measures 7,198 yards (6,582 m), containing five par-5 holes and over ninety bunkers. The course is public and includes a 14,000-square-foot (1,300 m2) clubhouse with a pro shop as well as a 120-seat restaurant.

Lake Nona High School is a public high school in Orlando, Florida, United States. It was a relief school for Odyssey Middle School, Cypress Creek High School, and Oak Ridge High. Lake Nona High School stands as one of the more challenging schools in Orange County due to its rigorous academic workload, significantly high AP Enrollment and its open dual enrollment program through Valencia College. In addition to the school's collegiate focus, students have the ability to attend a fast track nursing program, Health Science Academy starting their freshmen year. The School rating has repeatedly received a high 'A' since 2012. Lake Nona also tops most schools in the district with its high graduation rate of 97.7%.

The Central Florida Reception Center is a state prison for men located in Orlando, Orange County, Florida, which is owned and operated by the Florida Department of Corrections. This facility was opened in 1988 (as the Orange Correctional Institution) and has a maximum capacity of 1659 prisoners, at a mix of security levels, as an inmate intake and processing center. The Central Florida Reception Center, East Unit is an adjacent state prison for men with capacity for another 1407 prisoners.

Lake Center (also called Center Lake) is a lake in Osceola County, in the U.S. state of Florida.

Narcoossee is an unincorporated community in eastern Osceola County, Florida, United States. It is located on the east side of East Lake Tohopekaliga. The only major road which runs through Narcoossee is County Road 15, commonly referred to as Narcoossee Road, which connects to U.S. Route 192. Every May, the community holds the annual Battle at Narcoossee Mill, which is a Civil War reenactment.

Turkey Creek is a creek and tributary of the Econlockhatchee River located in the community of Narcoossee in Southeast Orlando, in the U.S. State of Florida. The source of the 3-mile (4.8 km) river is Turkey Creek Bay, which is the northern beginning of the Econlockhatchee River Swamp that extends to Lake Conlin, the source of the Econlockhatchee River. From Turkey Creek Bay, the creek flows north and goes under Wewahootee Road and then State Road 528, commonly known as the Beachline Expressway. A tributary of the creek itself, the Green Branch, joins Turkey Creek at about 1,100 feet (340 m) before Turkey Creek joins the Econlockhatchee at 28°27′39.7″N 81°06′54.2″W.

Red Lake is a lake in Orlando, Florida, United States, near Orlando International Airport, between Lake Nona and Lake Buck.

Lake Nona is a 17-square-mile (44 km2, 10,900 acre, 4,400 hectare) mixed-use planned community within the city limits of Orlando, southeast of Orlando International Airport. Being developed by Lake Nona Property Holdings (owned by Tavistock Group), the Lake Nona Region is home to Lake Nona Golf & Country Club. The community is named for a large lake in the northern part. Lake Nona Medical City contains several centers for biomedical research and education including the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and the site of the planned relocation of the College of Nursing, as well as the addition of the University of Central Florida College of Dental Medicine, and the University of Florida College of Pharmacy, which is ranked #5 among all pharmacy schools in the nation. Several other private, governmental, and educational medical centers are located in the area as well. The population of Lake Nona has grown from merely 1,500 in 2000 to over 50,000 people in 2015. Some of the population growth is attributable to immigration from Puerto Rico during the Puerto Rican crisis of 2015.

The University of Central Florida College of Dental Medicine is a planned academic college of the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida, United States. Approved by the UCF Board of Trustees in May 2011, the college still needs to seek approval from the Florida Board of Governors and accreditation from the American Dental Association. The university hopes to open the college by 2020.When completed, the college will include a public dental school and be housed on the UCF Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona Medical City, a neighborhood of Orlando.
