Saint Benedict is the name of the post office at Mount Angel Abbey in Marion County, Oregon, United States. When it moved from Gervais to the town of Mt. Angel in 1884, the postal service would not allow the abbey to establish its own post office as it was less than a mile from the Mount Angel post office. A new abbey was completed on the top of nearby Mount Angel butte in 1903, and Saint Benedict post office was established there in 1914. Mount Angel Abbey was originally named Saint Benedict's Abbey, which in turn was named for Benedict of Nursia, the founder of the Order of Saint Benedict. The ZIP code of the post office is 97373.

Mount Angel Abbey is a Catholic monastery of Benedictine monks located in Saint Benedict, Oregon, northeast of Salem, it was established 142 years ago in 1882 from Engelberg Abbey, in Switzerland. The abbey, located on the top of Mount Angel, a 485-foot-high butte (148 m), has its own post office separate from the city of Mt. Angel. As of 2021, the abbey is home to approximately 51 monks.

Marquam is an unincorporated community in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. It is located on Oregon Route 213, between the cities of Molalla and Silverton. Marquam was named for pioneer settler Alfred Marquam, who came to Oregon in 1845 from the east (Maryland via Missouri). He secured a donation land claim of 640 acres (2.6 km2), and built the first house and the first store in the town. In 1889 the Marquam post office was established and named for Alfred Marquam, who was also the first postmaster. His younger brother was Philip Augustus Marquam, a noted early judge in Oregon.

Silver Creek Reservoir also known as Silverton Reservoir is a 65-acre (26 ha) impoundment on Silver Creek located in the Cascade foothills 2.5 miles (4.0 km) southeast of the city of Silverton, Oregon, United States on Oregon Route 214. The reservoir serves the purpose of flood control on the creek. The lake is popular in the spring and summer as a recreation area. Stocked with roughly 20,000 hatchery trout each spring and early summer, the lake also provides opportunities to catch bullhead catfish. Swimming is also quite popular on warm summer days as well as recreational boating, though no gas motors are allowed on the lake. Since the reservoir was created in 1960, there has been fear in Silverton that Silver Creek Dam might someday give way. Though structural engineers have declared the dam safe and deemed the conditions for a dam breach to be almost out of the realm of possibility, US Army Corps of Engineers studies have found that a collapse of the dam would be catastrophic to the city below.

The Murton E. and Lillian DeGuire House is a historic house built in 1906 and located in Silverton in Marion County, Oregon. It was built in the "Free - Classic Queen Anne" style with modest ornamentation that includes leaded glass, projecting bays, groups of windows that include both long and short windows, and differing siding textures. The basic block form with dormers and gables is perhaps most commonly associated with the Colonial Revival Style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011. It is one of three houses in Silverton listed on the National Register in the same day. The reasons for inscription are that the house is a representative of the "Free - Classic Queen Anne" and retains integrity.

Calvary Lutheran Church and Parsonage is a historic church building and parsonage in Silverton, Oregon, United States. The church is also known as the First Christian Church. The church is a combination of the Carpenter Gothic and the Queen Anne architectural styles. The parsonage is Bungalow/Craftsman and Greek Revival style. Originally, the church was known as the First Christian Church. In 1906, the church building became the Norwegian Lutheran Church and in 1926-1927 it was remodeled to its current configuration. The church was sold in 1975, and in 1984, it became the White Steeple Gallery and Tea Room, a name by which it was still known in 1992. The church, a balloon frame 26 by 52 feet (7.9 m × 15.8 m) building built during 1891-92, is Gothic Revival in style, with Eastlake ornamentation. It was moved to a new location on a raised foundation on the same tax lot in the 1920s. The parsonage, built in 1926, is a one-and-a-half-story bungalow. The property includes a non-contributing parson's study, a one-story detached building built between 1953 and 1956, behind the church. The church and parsonage buildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Silverton is a city in Marion County, Oregon, United States. The city is situated along the 45th parallel about 12 miles (19 km) northeast of Salem, in the eastern margins of the broad alluvial plain of the Willamette Valley. The city is named after Silver Creek, which flows through the town from Silver Falls into the Pudding River, and thence into the Willamette River. The community of Milford was founded in 1846 with a sawmill, store and several other buildings two miles upstream from the present location of Silverton. In about 1853 a second sawmill was built on Silver Creek near where the Silverton city hall now stands. In 1854 the town of Silverton was platted and registered with Marion County. Human habitation of the Silverton area extends back approximately 6,000 years before the present. In historical times, the region was dominated by the Kalapuya and Molala peoples, whose seasonal burns of the area made it plow-ready and attractive to early 19th century Euro-American settlers. Farming was Silverton's first major industry, and has been a dominant land-use activity in and around Silverton since the mid-19th century. Silverton is part of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area, and the population core of the Silver Falls School District. The population was 10,484 at the time of the 2020 census.

The June D Drake House is a historic house located in Silverton, Marion County, Oregon. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 12, 2011. It was the Silverton home of June D Drake (1880-1969; Silverton Chamber of Commerce secretary, Knights of Pythias member, farmer, commercial photographer, and owner of Drake Brothers Studio in Silverton) and his wife Eleanor Mercedes Schoenfeld Drake (1880-1968). He was a prime mover in the establishment of Silver Falls State Park. Their house was deemed historically significant for listing on the National Register partly for its association with him and partly for it serving as a fine local example of "Free-Classic Queen Anne cottage" architecture. It was the first house in Silverton to be electrified in 1904. It is one of three houses in Silverton listed on the same day.
