KFAX (1100 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to San Francisco, California, and heard around the Bay Area. As of 2014, the station is owned by Salem Media Group and programs a Christian radio teaching and talk format. The studios and offices are in suburban Fremont and the transmitter is in nearby Hayward near the San Mateo–Hayward Bridge. KFAX broadcasts with 50,000 watts, the highest power permitted for AM stations. But because 1100 AM is a clear-channel frequency reserved for Class A WTAM in Cleveland, KFAX must use a directional antenna to avoid interference, aiming most of its signal away from the east. The station is the most powerful Christian-formatted AM station west of the Mississippi.

Hayward Regional Shoreline is a regional park located on the shores of the San Francisco Bay in Hayward, California. It is part of the East Bay Regional Parks system. The 1,713 acre park extends to the shores of San Lorenzo. Part of the park is former commercial salt flats purchased in 1996. A former landfill, now capped with soil and plants, is located in the park. The park includes the 250 acre tidal wetland, Cogswell Marsh, and the 364 acre Oro Loma Marsh (constructed in 1997). Located to the south of the park is the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center, which provides information on the Bay shore habitats. The San Francisco Bay Trail runs through the park, which connects the park with San Lorenzo Creek.

Russell City (also known as Russell) was an unincorporated community in Alameda County, California, United States, about 10 miles (16 km) south of Oakland in present-day Hayward. The land is at an elevation of 16 feet (5 m). Russell City existed from 1853 until 1964, when the last of the residents were forced out to make way for an industrial park, with such parks dominating the area to this day. While the residents fought removal, many of the buildings were destroyed in arson fires.

Mt. Eden Cemetery is a cemetery in Hayward, California, in the area formerly called "Mt. Eden". The site was first established in 1860 as a pioneer cemetery. It is still in use. As of 2005, there were over 2,800 records (gravesites).

KTCT (1050 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to San Mateo, California, and serving the San Francisco Bay Area. It is owned by Cumulus Media and airs a sports radio format as KNBR 1050, a sister station to KNBR and KNBR-FM. In contrast to KNBR-AM-FM having local sports talk and play-by-play most of the day, KTCT emphasizes nationally syndicated programming from ESPN Radio and Westwood One Sports. KTCT is also the radio home for San Jose Earthquakes soccer, Stanford University football, and University of San Francisco men's basketball. By day, KTCT is powered at 50,000 watts, the maximum for commercial AM stations in the U.S. But because 1050 AM is a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A XEG Monterrey, KTCT reduces power at sunset to 10,000 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times with a five-tower array. The transmitter is off West Winton Avenue in Hayward, near San Francisco Bay.

Eden Landing (also, Mount Eden Landing, Edendale, Barrons Landing, Barron's Landing, and Peterman's Landing) is a former settlement in Alameda County, California. Eden Landing was located west-southwest of Mount Eden. Its site is now located within the corporate limits of Hayward. Eden Landing was established in 1854 by farmers who were dissatisfied with the freight charges at Allen's Landing, which was a quarter of a mile (400 m) west. The place was bought by Richard Barron in 1855, and renamed Barrons Landing. Henry Louis Petermann and Mary F. Petermann operated their salt works here. Stokes Landing was located east of Eden Landing on Alameda Creek.A post office operated at Edendale from 1873 to 1875. Coordinates were obtained from USGS GNIS for Barron's Landing.

Hayward Executive Airport (IATA: HWD, ICAO: KHWD, FAA LID: HWD) is a municipal airport in Hayward, California. The National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015 categorized it as a reliever airport. The towered airport near the east shore of San Francisco Bay was formerly the Hayward Air Terminal.

KCRH (89.9 FM) is a radio station in Hayward, California, serving the Bay Area, primarily the East Bay. The station is owned by Chabot College and operated by students in its Mass Communications department.

Chabot College (Chabot or CC) is a public community college in Hayward, California. It is part of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

Southland Mall is a shopping mall in Hayward, California owned and managed by Brookfield Properties. The mall is anchored by JCPenney, and Macy's (formerly Liberty House). There is also a vacant anchors left by Sears and Dick's Sporting Goods, which prior to Dick's was Kohl's, and way before Mervyn's. The mall is primarily a single-level structure, with a small lower level beneath JCPenney, a movie theater, and free standing restaurants in the outlying parking areas. The center is located off Interstate 880 at Winton Avenue, at the western end of the city. On July 10, 2020, it was announced that Sears would be closing as part of a plan to close 28 stores nationwide.Most of Southland was developed in the early 1960s. The site incorporated a freestanding Sears location and a few other stores operating as the Palma Ceia Center (Palma Ceia being Portuguese for "Palm Supper", a reflection of the ethnic Portuguese heritage of Oakland and its newly developing suburbs) and a $20 million expansion program was announced in the fall of 1963, in which the facility would become an enclosed mall. The Taubman Company was the primary developer (the developer of Chicago's Evergreen Plaza was also a partner) and John Graham (architect of Seattle's Space Needle) the primary architect.

Mt. Eden was an unincorporated agricultural district in Eden Township, Alameda County, California, United States. It was annexed by the City of Hayward. It lies at an elevation of 43 feet (13 m). Mt. Eden was founded in 1850 by a group of farmers from Mount Eden, Kentucky, drawn to California by the Gold Rush. The party disbanded upon reaching the San Francisco Bay, but a few settled at a road crossing where they nailed a sign "Mt. Eden" to two trees, and the name stuck. A post office opened in 1860 and was in continuous operation until 1953.

Kennedy Park is a large, multi-use park in Hayward, California, managed by the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD). It is the most heavily used park in the district. The park is adjacent to McConaghy Park, which contains McConaghy House, a historic property, built in 1886, and managed as a house museum by HARD and the Hayward Area Historical Society. McConaghy House features Stick/Eastlake architecture. It lies within San Lorenzo. In 2013, plans to renovate the park and combine the park and house into a Victorian-style venue were proposed.
