Upper Twin Island

Lower Twin Island is a bar island on the Ohio River in the city of Wheeling, West Virginia. Lower Twin Island and its twin, Upper Twin Island, lie northwest of Wheeling's Warwood neighborhood.

Pike Island Lock and Dam is the fifth lock and dam on the Ohio River, located in Yorkville, Ohio 84 miles downstream of Pittsburgh. There are two locks, one for commercial barge traffic that's 1,200 feet long by 110 feet wide, and the auxiliary lock is 600 feet long by 110 feet wide.

Clearview is a village in Ohio County, West Virginia, United States. It is part of the Wheeling, West Virginia Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 565 at the 2010 census.

Warwood Fire Station is a historic fire station located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It was built in 1923, and is a two-story, rectangular brick building in the Classical Revival-style. The three-bay front facade has two garage openings with a single center entrance. Its entablature is a centered limestone panel incised with "FIRE DEPARTMENT NO. 11."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Warwood is a neighborhood of the city of Wheeling in Ohio County, West Virginia, United States. It lies at an elevation of 673 feet (205 m). Warwood was named for the Warwood Tool Company. Founded by Henry Warwood of Martins Ferry, Ohio in 1854, the company was sold to Daniel L. Heiskell in 1892 and moved to a location four miles north of Wheeling. The Warwood Tool Company remains in existence to this day.[1] In the first half of the 20th century, a large number of Greek immigrants predominantly from the island of Karpathos settled in Warwood to work in the coal mines. Among Warwood natives of Karpathian descent is the noted Greek Orthodox theologian John G. Panagiotou.Glenns Run, a tributary to the Ohio River, joins here.

Yorkville is a village in Belmont and Jefferson counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 968 at the 2020 census. Yorkville lies within two Metropolitan Statistical Areas; the Belmont County portion is part of the Wheeling metropolitan area, while the Jefferson County portion is part of the Weirton–Steubenville metropolitan area.

Martins Ferry High School is a public high school in Martins Ferry, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Martins Ferry City School District. Athletic teams compete as the Martins Ferry Purple Riders in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Buckeye 8 Athletic League as well as the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference. The Martins Ferry City School District has median household income of $23,960, thus making the school eligible for a Title I program, including access to state and federal assistance to help low-income and at risk students. The head school administrator, Joe Mamone, oversees the school's staff, including thirty full-time "equivalent" teachers serving the student body with an average class size of 17.8. The majority of students enrolled are White, making up about eighty-three percent of all students.

Martins Ferry is the largest city in Belmont County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River across from Wheeling, West Virginia. The population was 6,260 as of the 2020 census. It is part of the Wheeling metropolitan area.

The Central School was a school building in Martins Ferry, Ohio, United States. Located at the corner of South 4th and Hickory Streets, the school was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on July 23, 1979. It is no longer on the Register: the designation was removed on February 21, 1980, less than a year after it was added. Designed by Benjamin Exley and C.H. Owsley, it was built in 1897 in the Richardsonian Romanesque style of architecture.The building was demolished to make room for the Citizens National Bank, the current owners.

Betty Zane is an unincorporated community in Ohio County, West Virginia, United States. It is located to the east of the village of Clearview. The town is named after Betty Zane, who is believed to have saved Fort Henry by fetching gunpowder and ammunition while under siege during the American Revolutionary War.

H. C. Ogden House, also known as the Wise-Ogden House, is a historic home located at Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia. It was built in 1893, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, T-shaped, Queen Anne-style frame dwelling. It features a deep, full-width front porch with Doric order columns, a round tower with domed roof, and coursed wood shingles. The house has 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, 1 half-bath, 1 kitchen, and 9 additional rooms. The house was built for Herschel Coombs Ogden (1869-1943), a publisher, community leader, and businessman significant in the history of West Virginia.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. It is located in the Woodsdale-Edgewood Neighborhood Historic District.
