Narita (成田市, Narita-shi) is a city in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. As of 30 November 2020, the city had an estimated population of 131,852 in 63,098 households and a population density of 620 persons per km². The total area of the city is 213.84 square kilometres (82.56 sq mi). It is the site of Narita International Airport, one of the two main international airports serving the Greater Tokyo Area.

Narita-san (成田山 "Narita mountain") Shinshō-ji (新勝寺 "New victory temple") is a Shingon Buddhist temple located in central Narita, Chiba, Japan. It was founded in 940 by Kanchō Daisōjō, a disciple of Kōbō Daishi. It is a lead temple in the Chisan branch (Chisan-ha 智山派) of New Shingon (Shingi Shingon 新義真言宗), includes a large complex of buildings and grounds, and is one of the best-known temples in the Kantō region. It is dedicated to Ācala (Japanese: Fudō myōō ("Unmovable Wisdom King")) who is usually depicted holding a sword and rope and surrounded by flames. Often called a fire god, he is associated with fire rituals.

FedEx Express Flight 80 was a scheduled cargo flight from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in the People's Republic of China, to Narita International Airport in Narita, Chiba Prefecture (near Tokyo), Japan. On March 23, 2009, the McDonnell Douglas MD-11F (N526FE) operating the flight crashed at 6:48 am JST (21:48 UTC, March 22), while attempting a landing on Runway 34L in gusty wind conditions. The aircraft became destabilized at flare and touchdown resulting in an unrecovered "bounced" landing with structural failure of the landing gear and airframe, and came to rest off the runway, inverted, and burning fiercely. The captain and first officer, the jet's only occupants, were both killed.

Jindai-ji (甚大寺) is a Buddhist temple located in the city of Sakura in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The temple was originally located in Yamagata Prefecture, but when the Hotta clan was granted control of the Sakura Domain, Hotta Masasuke moved the temple in 1746 to serve as the clan's funerary temple (菩提寺, bodaiji), or family temple. The Hotta clan's historical grave marker is located at Jindai-ji, as are the tombstones of Hotta Masatoshi, Hotta Masayoshi, and Hotta Masatomo, all of which are designated as Chiba Prefectural Historical Places. The bronze statue of the Eleven-Faced Kannon, the primary object of veneration at Jindai-ji, is by the artist Tsuda Shinobu (1875-1946).

The Sumi Furusawa site (墨古沢遺跡, すみ ふるさわ いせき, Sumi Furusawa iseki) is an archaeological site with the traces of a Japanese Paleolithic period settlement located in what is now the Sumi neighborhood of the town of Shisui, Chiba in the Kantō region of Japan. The site was designated a National Historic Site in 2019.
