Durham County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 324,833, making it the sixth-most populous county in North Carolina. Its county seat is Durham, which is the only incorporated municipality predominantly in the county, though very small portions of cities and towns mostly in neighboring counties also extend into Durham County. The central and southern parts of Durham County are highly urban, consisting of the city as well as several unincorporated suburbs. Southeastern Durham County is dominated by the Research Triangle Park, most of which is in Durham County. The northern third of Durham County is rural in nature. Durham County is the core of the Durham-Chapel Hill, NC Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Raleigh-Durham-Cary, NC Combined Statistical Area, which had a population of 2,106,463 in 2020.

Voyager Academy is an elementary, middle, and high school in the northern part of Durham, North Carolina, United States, and is located in Independence Park. It was founded in 2005. Current enrollment is approximately 1350 students across grades K-12. Voyager is a charter school and uses a lottery to admit students.

Braggtown (or Bragtown) is a neighborhood located in the northeastern corner of Durham, North Carolina. The community is centered on N. Roxboro Street (Business US-501) and the Old Oxford Highway. The area has been within the Durham city limits since the 1950s. Branford Marsalis, the noted jazz saxophonist, named his 2006 album Braggtown after the neighborhood; Marsalis has been a resident of the Durham area for the past few years.

North Carolina Specialty Hospital (NCSH) is a specialty hospital located in northern Durham, North Carolina. The hospital provides orthopaedic, ophthalmogic, otolaryngology (ENT), plastic, and general surgery care, as well as pain management techniques and podiatric care. NCSH is the oldest hospital in Durham, dating back to 1926, when it was formed as an eye, ear, nose, and throat hospital originally known as McPherson Hospital, named after Dr. Samuel McPherson, an EENT specialist. In the early-1990s, the hospital was renamed as the North Carolina Eye and Ear Hospital. It was located at the time in its original building in downtown Durham, near the East Campus of Duke University. In May 2005, NCSH moved to its current location in northern Durham, and was renamed as North Carolina Specialty Hospital in 2000. In 2009, North Carolina Specialty Hospital was named the top hospital in North Carolina, and among the top 10 in the United States, for its patient care ratings, per the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), a division of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). NCSH is jointly owned by National Surgical Hospitals (NSH), and physicians from North Carolina Eye and Ear Associates and Triangle Orthopaedic Associates.

Duke Regional Hospital (DRH), located in northern Durham, North Carolina is a general-services hospital that has been part of the Duke University Health System since 1998. The hospital has 369 beds and over 500 physicians on the medical staff, and has a certified Level II Intensive Care Nursery.

WRJD (1410 AM) is a radio station based in Durham, North Carolina, which currently broadcasts a Spanish Christian format. It was a heritage radio station that went by WSRC for over half a century.

The Museum of Life and Science—previously known as the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science and the NC Children's Museum—is an 84-acre (340,000 m2) science museum located in Durham, North Carolina, United States. The museum campus lies in the midst of the Northgate Park neighborhood, bisected by Murray Avenue. The main building is located on the north tract, along with the Butterfly House, Hideaway Woods, Farmyard, Sprout Cafe, Explore the Wild nature park, Catch the Wind, Dinosaur Trail, and the 2 ft (610 mm) narrow gauge Ellerbe Creek C.P. Huntington train ride. The museum features both indoor and outdoor learning environments. The southern tract is now largely devoted to parking and administrative buildings, including a parking deck completed in early 2018. Prior to the construction of the new main building in the early 1990s, the structures on the southern tract contained the bulk of the museum's exhibit space.

Durham County Memorial Stadium is an 8,500-seat multi-purpose stadium located in Durham, North Carolina. Originally built in 1958, the stadium underwent significant renovations in 2010 that updated the facility to include an artificial turf lined for soccer, football and lacrosse and a track and field facility with an eight lane track. Durham County Memorial Stadium is the home field of Northern Durham High School Football, Carolina Flyers of the AUDL and Tobacco Road FC of USL-2. The stadium is also used as a special events facility hosting local, regional and national events. The stadium hosted Shaw University Football from 2007 to 2018, and again after the 2022 season. Shaw also hosts a majority of their men's and women's soccer matches at the stadium despite the school's location in neighboring Wake County. Durham County Memorial Stadium is managed by the Durham County Memorial Stadium Authority and owned by the County of Durham.

Little River is a 12.83 mi (20.65 km) long tributary to the Eno River in Durham County, North Carolina. Little River along with the Flat River are the major tributaries to the Eno River before it enters Falls Lake. Both the North Fork of Little River and the South Fork begin in northern Orange County, North Carolina near Hurdle Mills Road. The South and North Forks come together in a confluence near Guess Road and South Lowell Road in northern Durham County. 5.5 miles southeast of the confluence, the Little River is dammed to form the Little River Reservoir, a drinking water source for the City of Durham. The damming of the river in 1983 flooded a significant portion of the historic community of Orange Factory.

WTIK (1310 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican format. Licensed to Durham, North Carolina, United States, the station serves the Triangle area. The station is currently owned by Claudino Bonerges, Ashley Padilla Ayala, Brian Padilla, and Alexis Padilla, through licensee A&B Media LLC.

Geer Cemetery (1876–1939), is an African-American cemetery located on Colonial Street between McGill Place and Camden Avenue in northeast Durham, North Carolina. It has also been known as City Cemetery, Old City Cemetery, East Durham Cemetery, and Mason Cemetery.

West Point on the Eno is a city park and historical center covering 412 acres (1.67 km2) in Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. Several historical structures are conserved on the site: West Point Mill - a reproduction colonial-era mill that is now a museum.
