Whitehall Terrace, also known as the Richard H. Wright II House, is a Colonial Revival mansion in Durham, North Carolina. Completed in 1929, it was built for businessman Richard H. Wright II and his wife, Mary Scalon Wright. Whitehall Terrace was one of the first houses constructed on the north side of Durham's Duke Park neighborhood. Recognized as a historic landmark by the Durham City-County Planning Department and the Durham Architectural and Historic Inventory, it was included in Duke Park's nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.

The dwelling are mostly one to two-story frame buildings, dating mostly from the 1890s to 1930s and include notable examples of Bungalow / American Craftsman, Late Victorian, and Queen Anne architecture. Notable buildings include the Markham Apartments (c. 1910), Perry Building (1927), and Calvary United Methodist Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Triangle Brewing Co. (TBC) was a microbrewery owned and operated entirely by business partners (and high-school friends) Rick "the Brewer" Tufts and Andy "the Bloke" Miller who, in 2005, resettled in Durham, North Carolina from Connecticut. Andy Miller had extensive local restaurant management experience, and Rick Tufts apprenticed at Flying Fish Brewing Company and was an avid homebrewer long before founding a new brewery. TBC began selling beer on July 4, 2007 and was the only microbrewery in Durham. The arrival of a microbrewery in Durham is arguably part of the current downtown art, building, and cultural Renaissance.

Ephphatha Church, also known as Faith Tabernacle, is a historic Episcopal church at 220 W. Geer Street in Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. It was built in 1930, and is a small, one-story, six-bay deep, Gothic Revival style brick building. It is one of only four churches in the United States built exclusively for a deaf congregation. The Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina rented the Ephphatha Church building to another congregation from 1977 until early 1981, then sold the building.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Cleveland Street District is a national historic district located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 16 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure in a predominantly residential section of Durham. The buildings primarily date between the 1880s and 1910s and include notable examples of Queen Anne and Stick Style / Eastlake movement architecture. Notable contributing buildings include the Holloway-Hutchins House and Howerton-Masser House (c. 1890).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Durham Hosiery Mills Dye House is a historic textile mill building located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. It was constructed by the Durham Hosiery Mills Corporation in three sections between 1920 and 1921. They are the boiler room, office / warehouse, and dyeing area. It is constructed of exterior reinforced concrete bearing walls, steel trusses and a heavy timber (“slow burn”) structural system.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014.

Notable buildings include the Holloway Street School (1928), East Durham Junior High School (c. 1940), Advent Christian Church (1920s), John Cheek House (1899), Community Groceries (1900), George Brown Grocery Store (1920), Seagroves Grocery Store (1915), and The People's Bank (1921).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

West Durham Historic District is a national historic district located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 101 contributing buildings in a mixed industrial, commercial, and residential section of Durham. The buildings primarily date after 1892 and include notable examples of Classical Revival, Italianate, and Queen Anne architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Erwin Cotton Mills Company Mill No. 1 Headquarters Building. Other notable buildings include Erwin Cotton Mills Co. Mill No. 4 (1909–10), Erwin Cotton Mills Co. worker's housing (1910s), Fidelity Bank (1920s), E. K. Powe School (1928), Blacknall Memorial Presbyterian Church (1922), and St. Joseph's Episcopal Church.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Liberty Warehouse Nos. 1 and 2, also known as Liberty Warehouse No. 3 and Liberty Warehouse, was a historic tobacco auction warehouse complex located at Durham, Durham County, North Carolina. It was built in two sections in 1938 and in 1948. Together it was an expansive frame structure on a brick foundation with low-pitched, front-gabled roofs supported by massive timber columns. The last loose-leaf tobacco auctions were held in downtown Durham in the 1980s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. In May 2011 a portion of the roof collapsed and demolition of the building began in July 2014.
