La Raya de Santiago, or simply La Raya, is a village or pedanía (suburban district) of the municipality of Murcia, in Región de Murcia (Spain). There are 2,289 inhabitants (INE 2004) and it has an approximate area of 2,901 km². It is situated in the central area of the orchard of Murcia, on the right bank of river Segura, 4 km from Murcia city centre and 55 metres above sea level. Boundaries: North: La Ñora and Rincón de Beniscornia, separated by the river Segura. East: Rincón de Seca. West: Puebla de Soto. South: Nonduermas.The village is formed by a central urban area and several neighbourhoods spread among orchards and plots: Los Caseros, Los Seanos, Los Sacristanes, Los Remendaos, Los Pajareros and Los Cerriches to the south; Los Terueles, Los Comunes and Los Aristones to the east; La Generala, El Gilandario, El Relenco, el Caserío de Los Pintaos and la Voz Negra to the west; and El Palomar-Camino del Cementerio, Los Pujantes, el Puente del Remolino, el Molino del Batán and el Caserío de Ruíz López to the north.

The University of Murcia (Spanish: Universidad de Murcia) is the primary institute of higher education in Murcia, Spain. With a student population of approximately 38,000, it is the largest university in the Region of Murcia. Founded in 1272 AD, the University of Murcia is the third oldest university in Spain, following only the University of Salamanca (1218 AD) and the University of Valladolid (1241 AD), and the thirteenth oldest in the world. The University of Murcia was established by the King Alfonso X of Castile under the Crown of Castile. The majority of the university's facilities and buildings are spread over two campuses: the older is La Merced, situated in the town center, and the larger is Espinardo, 5km to the north of Murcia. The university's San Javier campus is the center of its sports science programs. A third campus for Medical and Health Studies is currently being built next to the suburban area known as Ciudad Sanitaria Virgen de la Arrixaca, 5km south of the city.

El Puente de la Pólvora (Spanish for the Black-powder Bridge) was a metallic bridge with stone abutments spanning the Segura River. The structure was completed with five stone arches on the left side of the bridge designed to span the river flood plain. Built between 1870 and 1877 in the vicinity of Javalí Viejo and Alcantarilla, in the Región de Murcia (Spain), the bridge was designed by the civil engineers Manuel Pardo Sánchez-Salvador (for the stone structure) and José Caunedo Sánchez (for the metallic structure). Both structures were built by Pedro Díaz Sánchez y Francisco Peña y Baquero respectively.The bridge was originally built to allow the transit of black powder convoys arriving from the neighbouring military factory and heading to the Port of Cartagena. Prior to the construction of the bridge, these dangerous convoys had to pass periodically through the city of Murcia in order to cross the river by the only existing bridge over the Segura in the vicinity: El Puente de los Peligros. Until the construction of the bridge, the inhabitants of Murcia complained repeatedly about the risk that those black powder transports meant for the city.In 1975, the metallic structure was dismantled and sold as scrap due to the construction, in 1974, of a reinforced concrete bridge few meters upstream. Later on, the right abutment was demolished during the channelling of the river. The left abutment and the five stone arches still remain in place and are currently used to access the river channelling service road.

Alcantarilla (Spanish pronunciation: [alkantaˈɾiʎa]) is a town and municipality in southeastern Spain, in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia. The town is only 7 km away from the capital of the region, the city of Murcia, and one of its peculiarities is that it is completely surrounded by "pedanías" (satellite districts or boroughs) of the municipality of Murcia like Sangonera La Seca, San Ginés, Nonduermas, Puebla de Soto, La Ñora, Javalí Viejo and Javalí Nuevo. The town is part of a low-lying fertile plain rich in gardens, orchards and citrus fruits, known as the "Huerta", which includes the valleys of the river Segura and its right-hand tributary the Guadalentín or river Sangonera and is surrounded by mountains. The Huerta belongs mainly to the large administrative authority of the city of Murcia but it also includes other small municipalities (Alcantarilla, Beniel y Santomera) that could not be omitted from the Huerta's framework either functionally or visually. The Paratrooper Military School (Escuela Militar de Paracaidismo) "Méndez Parada" of the Spanish Air and Space Force is quartered at the Alcantarilla Air Base, which is also used by the Paratrooper Brigade of the Spanish Army, an airborne elite unit called the Black Berets, which has a base in Murcia, not far from the air base at Alcantarilla.

The Church of San Andrés is one of the traditional parish churches in the historic center of Murcia, Spain, located in the San Andrés neighborhood, in the Plaza de San Agustín. The parish dates back to shortly after the Conquest of Murcia, originally located outside the city's walls in the suburb of Arrixaca. However, the current church was originally the conventual church of the Augustinians, which, after the Ecclesiastical confiscations of Mendizábal, was repurposed several times until, in 1886, it became the parish church of San Andrés due to the poor condition of the previous parish church, located on Calle San Andrés, which no longer exists today.

Churra is a hamlet belonging to the municipality of Murcia (Spain), with a municipal board. It is a semi-agricultural town, although in recent years it has opened its economy to industry, and especially the service sector (commerce), with two hypermarkets (Thader and Nueva Condomina). It had a population of 4,912 inhabitants (Instituto Nacional de Estadística (Spain) in 2004) and an area of 5.6 square kilometers. The distance to Murcia city center is 3.5 kilometers, served with a tram, and lies at an altitude of 57 meters above sea level. It was founded during the Islamic domination around the ninth century and since then its history has always been closely linked to that of Murcia, becoming in this hamlet of the eighteenth century. There are vestiges of its history in the village, such as the New and Old Ditches and Torre Alcayna House.

Estadio Nueva Condomina, currently known as Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia for sponsorship reasons, is a multi-use stadium in Murcia, Spain. Completed in 2006, it is used mostly for football matches and hosts the home matches of Real Murcia. The stadium has a capacity of 31,179 seats, making it the 16th-largest stadium in Spain and the largest in the Region of Murcia. The Nueva Condomina replaced La Condomina stadium as the home venue of Real Murcia. The stadium was officially opened on October 11, 2006 with a friendly match between Spain and Argentina. Real Murcia played its first game at this stadium on 26 November 2006, against Real Valladolid.It was renamed Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia in December 2019, after an agreement with the namesake company. It is one of the potential host cities for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
