Rincón de Beniscornia is a village in Murcia, Spain. It is part of the municipality of Murcia.

La Raya de Santiago, or simply La Raya, is a village or pedanía (suburban district) of the municipality of Murcia, in Región de Murcia (Spain). There are 2,289 inhabitants (INE 2004) and it has an approximate area of 2,901 km². It is situated in the central area of the orchard of Murcia, on the right bank of river Segura, 4 km from Murcia city centre and 55 metres above sea level. Boundaries: North: La Ñora and Rincón de Beniscornia, separated by the river Segura. East: Rincón de Seca. West: Puebla de Soto. South: Nonduermas.The village is formed by a central urban area and several neighbourhoods spread among orchards and plots: Los Caseros, Los Seanos, Los Sacristanes, Los Remendaos, Los Pajareros and Los Cerriches to the south; Los Terueles, Los Comunes and Los Aristones to the east; La Generala, El Gilandario, El Relenco, el Caserío de Los Pintaos and la Voz Negra to the west; and El Palomar-Camino del Cementerio, Los Pujantes, el Puente del Remolino, el Molino del Batán and el Caserío de Ruíz López to the north.

Guadalupe is a pedanía (village/suburban district) in the municipality of Murcia in the Region of Murcia, Spain. The main populated area is known as Guadalupe de Maciascoque. El Escorial Murciano, the complex that contains the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia and the Monasterio de los Jerónimos de San Pedro de la Ñora, an historic Hieronymite monastery, is located here.

El Palmar is a village and the most populated district in Murcia, Spain. It is part of the municipality of Murcia. 24,266 people resided in the territory in 2020.There are two hypotheses about the district name. According to the first one, the name is due to the presence of palm trees and European fan palms. The other hypothesis consists of the name deriving from El Palomar, a name that appears in historic documents of the 16th century, as the origin of the toponym.

El Puente de la Pólvora (Spanish for the Black-powder Bridge) was a metallic bridge with stone abutments spanning the Segura River. The structure was completed with five stone arches on the left side of the bridge designed to span the river flood plain. Built between 1870 and 1877 in the vicinity of Javalí Viejo and Alcantarilla, in the Región de Murcia (Spain), the bridge was designed by the civil engineers Manuel Pardo Sánchez-Salvador (for the stone structure) and José Caunedo Sánchez (for the metallic structure). Both structures were built by Pedro Díaz Sánchez y Francisco Peña y Baquero respectively.The bridge was originally built to allow the transit of black powder convoys arriving from the neighbouring military factory and heading to the Port of Cartagena. Prior to the construction of the bridge, these dangerous convoys had to pass periodically through the city of Murcia in order to cross the river by the only existing bridge over the Segura in the vicinity: El Puente de los Peligros. Until the construction of the bridge, the inhabitants of Murcia complained repeatedly about the risk that those black powder transports meant for the city.In 1975, the metallic structure was dismantled and sold as scrap due to the construction, in 1974, of a reinforced concrete bridge few meters upstream. Later on, the right abutment was demolished during the channelling of the river. The left abutment and the five stone arches still remain in place and are currently used to access the river channelling service road.

The Church of San Andrés is one of the traditional parish churches in the historic center of Murcia, Spain, located in the San Andrés neighborhood, in the Plaza de San Agustín. The parish dates back to shortly after the Conquest of Murcia, originally located outside the city's walls in the suburb of Arrixaca. However, the current church was originally the conventual church of the Augustinians, which, after the Ecclesiastical confiscations of Mendizábal, was repurposed several times until, in 1886, it became the parish church of San Andrés due to the poor condition of the previous parish church, located on Calle San Andrés, which no longer exists today.

Alcantarilla (Spanish pronunciation: [alkantaˈɾiʎa]) is a town and municipality in southeastern Spain, in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia. The town is only 7 km away from the capital of the region, the city of Murcia, and one of its peculiarities is that it is completely surrounded by "pedanías" (satellite districts or boroughs) of the municipality of Murcia like Sangonera La Seca, San Ginés, Nonduermas, Puebla de Soto, La Ñora, Javalí Viejo and Javalí Nuevo. The town is part of a low-lying fertile plain rich in gardens, orchards and citrus fruits, known as the "Huerta", which includes the valleys of the river Segura and its right-hand tributary the Guadalentín or river Sangonera and is surrounded by mountains. The Huerta belongs mainly to the large administrative authority of the city of Murcia but it also includes other small municipalities (Alcantarilla, Beniel y Santomera) that could not be omitted from the Huerta's framework either functionally or visually. The Paratrooper Military School (Escuela Militar de Paracaidismo) "Méndez Parada" of the Spanish Air and Space Force is quartered at the Alcantarilla Air Base, which is also used by the Paratrooper Brigade of the Spanish Army, an airborne elite unit called the Black Berets, which has a base in Murcia, not far from the air base at Alcantarilla.

The Battle of Murcia or Battle of the Huerto de las Bombas was a battle on 4 September 1706, between the Bourbons under bishop Luis de Belluga and a combined British and Dutch force. It formed part of the War of the Spanish Succession and occurred near the Spanish town of Murcia. It resulted in a Bourbon victory.

The Puente de los Peligros (Spanish for bridge of the hazards) or also known as the Puente Viejo (Spanish for old bridge) is an arched stone bridge, completed in 1742, that spans the River Segura in the city of Murcia (Region of Murcia, Spain). As this is the oldest bridge of the city, it is known as old bridge as opposed to the Puente Nuevo (Spanish for new bridge) built in 1903. The popular name of Puente de los Peligros is due to the presence on the south side of the bridge of a niche that keeps a wooden statue of Our Lady of the Hazards, work of Francisco Sánchez Araciel.

Murcia (, US also , Spanish: [ˈmuɾθja] ) is a city in south-eastern Spain, the capital and most populous city of the autonomous community of the Region of Murcia, and the seventh largest city in the country. It had a population of 460,349 inhabitants in 2021 (about one third of the total population of the Region). The total population of the metropolitan area is 672,773 in 2020, covering an urban area of 1,230.9 km2. It is located on the Segura River, in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula. It has a climate with hot summers, mild winters, and relatively low precipitation. Murcia was founded by Abd ar-Rahman II, Emir of Cordoba, in 825 with the name Mursiyah (Arabic: مرسية). It is now mainly a services city and a university town. Highlights for visitors include the Cathedral of Murcia and a number of baroque buildings, renowned local cuisine, Holy Week procession, works of art by the famous Murcian sculptor Francisco Salzillo, and the Fiestas de Primavera (Spring Festival). The city, as the capital of the comarca Huerta de Murcia, is called "Europe's orchard" due to its long agricultural tradition and its fruit, vegetable, and flower production and exports.

The Royal Monastery of Saint Clare (Monasterio de Santa Clara la Real) is a monastery of the Poor Clares located in Murcia, Spain. Originating in the 14th century and occupying the site of a 13th century Muslim palace, it is one of the most historically significant buildings in the city. It contains remains of the Arab palace, which are among the most important examples of Islamic art in Murcia. The monastery also features a Gothic cloister and choir, as well as a Baroque church. Part of the building currently houses the Museum of Santa Clara, while the western wing hosts the Las Claras Cultural Center of Caja Murcia.
