Reinhardsbrunn

Friedrichroda (German pronunciation: [fʁiːdʁɪçˈʁoːda] ) is a town in the district of Gotha, Thuringia, Germany. It is situated at the north foot of the Thuringian Forest, 21 km by rail southwest of the town of Gotha. It is surrounded by fir-clad hills and possesses numerous handsome villa residences, a Kurhaus and a sanatorium. In the immediate neighborhood is the beautiful ducal hunting seat of Reinhardsbrunn, built out of the ruins of the famous Benedictine monastery founded in 1085. On 1 December 2007, the former municipalities Ernstroda and Finsterbergen were incorporated by Friedrichroda.

Reinhardsbrunn was a Verwaltungsgemeinschaft ("collective municipality") in the district of Gotha, in Thuringia, Germany. The seat of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was in Friedrichroda. It consisted of the following municipalities: Ernstroda Finsterbergen FriedrichrodaThe Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was disbanded on 1 December 2007. The municipalities Ernstroda and Finsterbergen were incorporated by Friedrichroda.

Finsterbergen is a former municipality in the district of Gotha, in Thuringia, Germany. Since 1 December 2007, it is part of the town Friedrichroda.

Bad Tabarz is a municipality in the district of Gotha, in Thuringia, Germany. It is a winter sports resort and the terminus of the Thüringerwaldbahn rural tramway.

The Spitter is a stream near Tambach-Dietharz in the Thuringian Forest in Germany. It flows through the Spitter Valley and has the highest waterfall in Thuringia. The course of the Spitter crosses the Rennsteig in the area of the Ebertswiese nature reserve and is the only stream along the route of the Rennsteig.

Großer Inselsberg is a mountain in the Thuringian Forest with a height of 916.5 m (3,007 ft) above sea level, located on Rennsteig in the districts of Gotha and Schmalkalden-Meiningen. It is the fourth-highest distinct mountain of Thuringia, after Großer Beerberg (982.9 m (3,225 ft)), Schneekopf (978 m (3,209 ft)) and Großer Finsterberg (944.1 m (3,097 ft)) and forms a landmark that can be viewed in particular from northern and western directions.

The Sender Inselsberg (transmitter Inselsberg) is an FM and television-transmission facility on the Großer Inselsberg in Thuringia, Germany. It has two aerial towers, which were built in 1939 and 1974. The transmission tower built in 1939 is a 43.31-metre-high (142.1 ft) freestanding cylindrical tower built of steel concrete, which carried until the beginning of the 1990s similar to Gerbrandy Tower a guyed steel tube mast on its top. This mast carried the FM- and TV-broadcasting aerials. Nowadays this mast is demounted and there are only small aerials for mobile phone services on its top. The tower is nicknamed because of its cylindrical form "thermos flask". The transmission tower built in 1974 is a 126-metre-tall (413 ft) freestanding steel tube tower on three feet. This tower which is similar to the tower of transmitter Brocken, which was built at the same time, carries above its legs three platforms for aerials for directional radio services and in its topmost section, protected by layers of glass-reinforced plastic, transmission aerials for FM broadcasting services and TV.

The Kilianstein is a free-standing rock tower on the Hopfenberg hill in the eastern part of the Sembach valley in central Germany. It stands about 800 m east of the (upper) village of Winterstein on the northern slopes of the Thuringian Forest in Germany. The pinnacle is about 15 metres high and some 500 m above sea level (NN). It consists of a relatively crumbly quartz porphyry and is visited, albeit rarely, by sports climbers. Several trails are signposted from here, climbing routes have been established on the rock and on the top is a summit register. According to one Winterstein legend, this rock was formed when the devil rammed his walking stick into the ground in anger at the success of the missionary St. Kilian in converting the local pagans, and the tip of his stick remained embedded.

Schwarzhausen is a village in Thuringia, Germany. In 1946, it was incorporated into the municipality of Emsetal in the district of Gotha.

The Hopfenberg is a wooded hill near Winterstein in the borough of Waltershausen, in the county of Gotha in the German state of Thuringia. With a height of 536.1 m above NN, the Hopfenberg forms the eastern boundary of the Emse valley within the municipality of Winterstein. The hill, which is cleared on its western and northern flanks, was used in the Middle Ages for the cultivation of hops, from which the hill derives its name. The rocky southern face of the Hopfenberg towers over the Sembach valley by about 125 metres. The Kilianstein rock formation in the east of the valley recalls the conversion of local pagans by the missionary, St Kilian. The rock face on the Treppenstein is also impressive; here there used to be a quarry whose rock was used in the construction of forest tracks.

Emsetal is a former municipality in the district of Gotha, in Thuringia, Germany. It took its name from the river Emse. It consisted of the villages Fischbach, Schmerbach, Schwarzhausen and Winterstein. On 31 December 2013, it was merged into the town Waltershausen.The Kilianstein is an unusual rock pinnacle in the municipality that is sometimes used by climbers. It is 800 m east of the village of Winterstein.

Brotterode-Trusetal is a town in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district, in Thuringia, Germany. It was named after the town Brotterode and the German river Truse that flows through the municipality. It was formed on 1 December 2011 by the merger of the former municipalities Brotterode and Trusetal.
