St. Margaret's Church, Oslo

Maridalen Church is a wooden church in Maridalen at the northern outskirts of Oslo, Norway, next to Nordmarka. The church was originally built as a mission house (Bedehus) in at the northern shore of the lake Maridalsvannet in 1887. It was taken over by the Church of Norway and consecrated first as a chapel in the year 1900, later renamed a church.Maridalen Church is located not far from the ancient church ruins of the medieval church St Margaret's Church.Maridalen Church has about 140 seats. The altarpiece is depicting Jesus in Gethsemane. The small bell tower has one church bell from 1898.Maridalen Church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

Maridalen is a valley situated just north of Oslo, Norway, just above the suburb of Kjelsås. Considering that Maridalen is within the Oslo city limits, Maridalen has a very low population density. The valley consists of forests, lakes and agricultural land. Most of the valley is made up of the lake Maridalsvannet, which serves as the primary source of drinking water for 90% of Oslo's population. The only hydroelectric powerplant within the City of Oslo, Hammeren Hydroelectric Power Station is located at Brekke in Maridalen. The valley is a popular recreational area with many hiking trails and cycling tracks for summer usage, and groomed cross-country trails in winter. Both the lake and valley are protected. Maridalen Church and the church ruins of the ancient St. Margaret's Church are located north of Maridalsvannet. A bus route runs along Maridalen, starting at Nydalen Subway Station.

Hammeren Hydroelectric Power Station (Norwegian: Hammeren kraftstasjon) is a hydroelectric power station located in Oslo, Norway. It is the only power station in Oslo, and among the oldest power stations still running in Norway. It has a total installed capacity of 5 MWp, and an annual production of 16 GWh. The power station utilises the waterfalls from Skjærsjøen to Maridalsvannet, with a total height of 105 m. It was established in 1900 by the company Christiania Elektricitetsværk, originally with four generator units, and increased to six units in 1901. In 1927, the six generators were replaced by a single 5.6 MW unit.

Maridalsvannet (English: Lake Maridal) is a lake in Maridalen, Oslo, Norway. It is the largest lake in the municipality of Oslo, and serves as the main drinking water supply for the city. The lake drains via the river Akerselva to the Oslofjord. The primary inflows are Skjærsjøelva and Dausjøelva. The Hammeren Hydroelectric Power Station exploits the fall from Skjærsjøen to Maridalsvannet. The shores of the lake and substantial areas of woods and fields around it are owned by the city of Oslo to protect the water supply. Some farms are still operated under city supervision, but others were closed down in the mid 20th century; their remains are marked by historical signs. Hiking, cycling, and cross-country ski trails run near the south side of the lake and connect to the large system of trails in the forests that surround Oslo. They can be reached by a short walk from the Kjelsås trolley, bus, or train stations. Trails run alongside Akerselva from the Marridalsvannet dam almost all the way to Oslofjord. The Gjøvik Line runs along the same shore.

The Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology (Norwegian: Norsk Teknisk Museum) is located in Oslo, Norway. The museum is an anchor point on the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

Kjelsås Station (Norwegian: Kjelås stasjon) is located at Kjelsås in Oslo, Norway on the Gjøvik Line. The railway station is located 10.28 km (6.39 mi) from Oslo Central Station between Nydalen Station and Snippen Station at 155.6 meters (510 ft) above sea level and was opened in 1900, two years before the railway to Gjøvik was finished.The station is served by commuter and regional trains operated by Vy Gjøvikbanen. There is a tram and bus stop at the station. The station is located beside the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology.

Korsvoll is an area in the borough Nordre Aker in Oslo, Norway. The area is located between the areas Brekke and Nordberg, northwest of the old industrial area Nydalen. The area borders on the forest area Nordmarka, and is a popular residential area for families. The local sports club is Korsvoll IL. The local school is Korsvoll primary school, placed close to the forest area.

The Norwegian Telecom Museum (Telemuseet, formerly Norsk Telemuseum) was a Norwegian museum with a collection and several exhibits, including a permanent exhibit at the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology. The administration of the Norwegian Telecom Museum was maintained in the Kjelsås neighbourhoods of Oslo. The museum operated nationwide, with exhibitions and collections in several places. The main exhibition of the museum was located in the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology at Kjelsås in Oslo. Other location sites include Stavanger, Jeløy, Kristiansand. Lier, Lærdal, Lødingen, Sørvågen, Tromsø and Trondheim.The museum was mainly funded by the Telenor Group. In April 2017, Telenor announced that it would no longer finance the operation of the museum, which would be closed from January 2018. Applications were made for operating funds from the State, but in the state budget for 2018 no money was set aside for the Telemuseet . The museum was therefore merged with the Norwegian Museum of Science and Technology with effect from 1 January 2018.

Korsvollbanen is the home ground of the Norwegian sports club Korsvoll IL. The club is in the residential neighborhood of Korsvoll in Nordre Aker, Oslo. The stadium capacity is 2000. There are 200 seats in a small wooden stand on one side of the park. The site also has some small training pitches on the north side near the clubhouse. The club has installed an all-weather field.

Kjelsås, sometimes called Kjelsaas, is one of the northern neighbourhoods of Oslo situated in Nordre Aker, the northern borough of Oslo, Norway.

Nordberg Church is a hexagonal church, located in the neighbourhood of Nordberg in Oslo, Norway.The church was completed in 1962 and was restored and expanded with a church parlor in 1982. The facade is in white bricks and has a characteristic church tower which can be seen from large parts of the city of Oslo. It is one of the largest churches in the city.The altar tapestry, The Resurrection is made by Kari-Bjørg Ile. It came into place in 1992. The pulpit and the baptismal font are made according to the architects' drawings. The current church organ from 2015 is a digital organ of the type Johannus Monarke Präludium.There are two church bells from Olsen Nauen Bell Foundry in the church tower.Outside the church is a log house, a former chapel used for the church's nursery.The church is listed by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage and protected by Norwegian law.

The National Archives of Norway (Riksarkivet) is the institution responsible for preserving archive material from Norwegian state institutions, as well as contributing to the preservation of private archives. It does this work in cooperation with the regional state archives, together with which it forms the National Archival Services of Norway (Arkivverket).The National Archives was founded in 1817. Henrik Wergeland was appointed as the first national archivist in 1841.
