Brodhead Farm

Eshback, Pennsylvania is a ghost town in Lehman Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania near Dingmans Ferry, Pennsylvania and Bushkill, Pennsylvania. It is now a part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and the Eshback Boat Launch remains in the park.

The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is a 70,000-acre (28,000 ha) national recreation area administered by the National Park Service in northwest New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania. It is centered around a 40-mile (64 km) stretch of the Delaware River designated the Middle Delaware National Scenic River. At the area's southern end lays the Delaware Water Gap, a dramatic mountain pass where the river cuts between Blue Mountain and Kittatinny Mountain. More than 4 million people visit the recreation area annually, many from the nearby New York metropolitan area. Canoeing, kayaking, and rafting trips down the river are popular in the summer. Other activities include hiking, rock climbing, swimming, fishing, hunting, camping, cycling, cross-country skiing, and horseback riding. Worthington State Forest and a section of the long-distance Appalachian Trail are located within the area, alongside numerous waterfalls and historic sites. The region, known historically as the Minisink, was inhabited by the Munsee at the time of Dutch and French Huguenot colonization in the late 17th century. The national recreation area was established in 1965 ahead of a dam project which would have flooded a large region north of the Water Gap. Over 15,000 people were displaced as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers acquired land for the reservoir. The controversial project was ultimately canceled in 1978 and the land transferred to the recreation area. There are efforts as of 2022 to re-designate the area as a national park, the first in New Jersey or Pennsylvania.

The Brau Kettle is a geological feature known as a karst that is located along the Wallpack Ridge in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Sandyston Township, New Jersey. Its name derives from the Dutch for "brewing kettle" or "boiling kettle" which describes how water suddenly bubbles up from the ground. This site is referenced in early French Jesuit and Dutch colonial manuscripts as a landmark near which colonial traders exchanged goods with the Munsee and other local Native American tribes. According to the New Jersey Geological Survey, the feature looks like a sinkhole in dry times during the year. It is known to flow at random, after periods of precipitation, and is thought to be fed by a sinking stream that vanishes in the forest roughly 1,800 feet away.

The Nyce Farm, also known as the Eshback Farm and Van Gordon House, is an historic, American home and farm complex that is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Lehman Township, Pike County, Pennsylvania. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Richard Layton House is a historic farmhouse located in the valley of the Delaware River southwest of the Wallpack Center section of Walpack Township in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 23, 1979, for its significance in architecture. The house is now part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

The Cornelius Gunn House was a historic fieldstone farmhouse located on Ridge Road southwest of the Wallpack Center section of Walpack Township in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 23, 1979, for its significance in architecture. The farmstead is part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. According to the nomination form, the house was built around 1814 by John Shoemaker. He was the brother of Daniel Shoemaker, who built the nearby Shoemaker–Houck Farm. The house was later owned by Cornelius D. Gunn, a trustee of the Wallpack Center Methodist Episcopal Church.

Wallpack Valley (or Walpack Valley) is a valley located in Sussex County in northwestern New Jersey formed by Wallpack Ridge (elevation 600–900 feet) on the west, and Kittatinny Mountain (1400–1800 feet) on the east. Wallpack Ridge separates the Wallpack Valley from the valley of the Delaware River (also known as the Minisink or Minisink Valley), and contains the watershed of the Flat Brook and its main tributaries Big Flat Brook and Little Flat Brook. It is a narrow valley, roughly 25 miles (40 km) in length running from Montague Township south of Port Jervis, New York to the Walpack Bend in the Delaware River near Flatbrookville in Walpack Township where the Flat Brook enters the Delaware at 300 feet above sea level. Haneys Mill is a section of Walpack. A grist mill was built there around 1860. It appears on the Sussex County wall map of that year with a nearby sawmill, a lime kiln, and residences of C. Haney, J.W. Fuller and B.D. Fuller. Serving at various times as a gristmill, a sawmill and a cidermill, the last operator was Jake Haney. The mid-nineteenth century farmhouse of the Haney family also stood nearby. Some of the scenes from the 1933 Ford Motor Company promotional film "These Thirty Years" were filmed here. In the movie, the place was known as the Haines farm; across the road in front of the house were the barns where the auction scene was filmed. After the floods in the 1950s, which raised the water of the Delaware above the level of the roads alongside it, a controversial project to build a hydroelectric dam and reservoir on the Delaware River in the 1950s and 1960s led to government's seizure of land in northwestern New Jersey and northeastern Pennsylvania under the authority of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The construction of the dam would have created a lake reservoir that would have flooded the Walpack Valley. For political and geological reasons, the dam project was deauthorized and the land transferred to the management of the National Park Service for the establishment of a National Recreation Area. Currently, Wallpack Ridge is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area that was established by the National Park Service in 1978.

Van Campen's Inn or Isaac Van Campen Inn is a fieldstone residence that was used as a yaugh house during the American colonial era. Located in Walpack Township, Sussex County, New Jersey along the Delaware River, it is a historic site located along the Old Mine Road in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. It is operated under a memorandum of understanding between the National Park Service and the Walpack Historical Society, a local non-profit corporation.

The Shoemaker–Houck Farm is a historic 3.2-acre (1.3 ha) farmstead located on Haney's Mill-Wallpack Center Road south of the Wallpack Center section of Walpack Township in Sussex County, New Jersey, United States. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 23, 1979, for its significance in architecture and includes a farmhouse and barn. The farmstead is now part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

Wallpack Center (also known as Walpack Center) is an unincorporated community located within Walpack Township, Sussex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Wallpack Center is located in the Flat Brook Valley 6.7 miles (10.8 km) west of Branchville. Wallpack Center has a post office with ZIP Code 07881. It is now part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.

Walpack Township is a township in Sussex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 7, a decrease of 9 (−56.3%) from the 2010 census count of 16, which in turn reflected a decline of 34 (−82.9%) from the 41 counted in the 2000 census. Walpack Township was the smallest municipality by population and one of only four municipalities in New Jersey with a population under 100 as of the 2020 Census; it had the state's third-smallest population in the 2010 census, behind Tavistock (population 5) and the now-defunct Pine Valley (population 12), both in Camden County. The township is named from a corruption of the Lenape Native American content word "wahlpeck," which means "turn-hole," or an eddy or whirlpool, a compound of two Native American words, "woa-lac" (a hole), and "tuppeck" (a pool), though other sources attribute the name to mean "very deep water" or "sudden bend of a stream around the base of a rock".

Pocono Mountain Lake Estates is a census-designated place located in Lehman Township, Pike County in the state of Pennsylvania. The community is located near U.S. Route 209, and is between and shares borders with two other CDP's, Pine Ridge and Pocono Ranch Lands. As of the 2010 census the population was 842 residents.
