Masonville is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Daviess County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 2,129 as of the 2020 census, doubling from 1,014 in the 2010 census. It is included in the Owensboro Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Kentucky Motor Speedway is a 3/8-mile short track located in Whitesville, Kentucky. The track was built in 1960, as a 1/4-mile track, with an infield figure 8 crossover added in 1981. But the track was later reconfigured to a 3/8-mile short track, while the figure 8 still have races. Several NASCAR greats, including Darrell Waltrip, Michael Waltrip, Jeremy Mayfield, and the Green brothers Jeff, David, and Mark, got their start in racing at the speedway.Kentucky Motor Speedway hosted 2 NASCAR Southeast Series races in 2003 in the 3/8-mile short track layout. The track hosts weekly races of all that divisions: Sportsman Division, super streets, pure stock, mini mods, mini stocks, stock cars and scrappers. The facility was idle from 2005 to 2008 due to bankruptcy issues before officially reopening on April 19, 2009. Brad Payne ran the race track from 2012 to 2019. Scott Slaton and John Hayden took over KMS operations before the 2020 season. The facility was idled again in 2022 and 2023, with plans to reopen after further improvements.

Daviess County ( "Davis"), is a county in Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 103,312. Its county seat is Owensboro. The county was formed from part of Ohio County on January 14, 1815. Daviess County is included in the Owensboro, KY Metropolitan Statistical Area. Daviess County also shares its namesake with another nearby Daviess County of Indiana. Both counties are in the Illinois-Indiana-Kentucky Tri-State Area.

As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 109,875. In the 2010 Census the population was 114,752. Owensboro Health is the health system in Owensboro, Kentucky. It was originally known as "Owensboro Daviess County Hospital" until it merged with the nearby and much smaller Mercy Hospital in 1995. The hospital was renamed "Owensboro Mercy Health System" until 2003 when it changed its name to "Owensboro Medical Health System". A new hospital, again renamed as simply "Owensboro Health Regional Hospital" opened at the northeast outskirts of Owensboro, in 2013. Thruston is an unincorporated community located in Daviess County in the U.S. state of Kentucky, northeast of Owensboro.

Grace Reformed Baptist Church is a Reformed Baptist church in Owensboro, Kentucky. The church has been worshipping together since 2015. It is affiliated with the Mid-America Reformed Baptist Association of Churches. Among the pastors of the congregation is Samuel E. Waldron who serves as the president of the Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary that meets on the church's grounds.

The Elmer Smith Power Plant was a coal-fired power plant owned and operated by the city of Owensboro, Kentucky. Unit 1 opened in 1964 with Unit 2 opening 10 years later in 1974The power plant was the main source of power for the city of Owensboro during the years it was active.
