Daviess County, Kentucky

Daviess County High School is located in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States. It is one of the largest schools in the area, with roughly 1750 students. It is part of the Daviess County Public Schools system. Its sister school is Apollo High School. Daviess County Middle School and College View Middle School feed into Daviess County High School.

Owensboro Community and Technical College (OCTC) is a public community college in Owensboro, Kentucky. It is part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). Owensboro Community College (est. 1986) and Owensboro Technical College (est. 1929) consolidated to become OCTC. OCTC is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) to offer technical as well as associate's degree programs.

Western Kentucky University-Owensboro is a regional campus of Western Kentucky University offering public, post-secondary education. It offers 23 undergraduate degrees, partnering with the Kentucky Community and Technical College System in a +2 program wherein students can transfer to WKU in Owensboro to complete an undergraduate degree after earning their associate degree. WKU in Owensboro is located at 4821 New Hartford Road, across the street from the Owensboro Community and Technical College main campus and minutes south of the Ohio River. As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 109,875. In the 2010 Census the population was 114,752. Owensboro is part of the Illinois–Indiana–Kentucky tri-state area and sometimes, albeit seldom, referred to as Kentuckiana.

Grace Reformed Baptist Church is a Reformed Baptist church in Owensboro, Kentucky. The church has been worshipping together since 2015. It is affiliated with the Mid-America Reformed Baptist Association of Churches. Among the pastors of the congregation is Samuel E. Waldron who serves as the president of the Covenant Baptist Theological Seminary that meets on the church's grounds.

Rosehill Elmwood Cemetery is located at 1300 Old Hartford Road in Owensboro, Daviess County, Kentucky. There are about 55,000 interments at the cemetery, which is officially recognized as a historical landmark by the state of Kentucky. Notable people buried in the cemetery include a number of US Congressmen, as well as Rainey Bethea, the last person to be publicly executed in the United States.

Miller Field was a baseball stadium in Owensboro, Kentucky. Miller Field's final tenant was the Owensboro Oilers of the Kentucky–Illinois–Tennessee League (also called the KITty League), playing there from 1937 to 1955. Miller Field was considered the finest ballpark in the KITty League.Miller Field was situated at Triplett Avenue and East 18th Street in Owensboro. Home plate was oriented to the northeast. Its dimensions were 320 feet (left field), 365 feet (center field) and 320 feet (right field).Miller Field was demolished on September 19, 1955, after the dissolution of the KITTY League. James C. Ellis, who bought the property, stated that the parcel of land was too valuable to be a baseball park.

Kentucky Wesleyan College (KWC) is a private Methodist college in Owensboro, Kentucky. Fall 2018 enrollment was 830 students.

The Felix Grimes House, at 1301 Leitchfield Rd. in Owensboro, Kentucky, was perhaps built around 1867–76. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.According to family tradition, when working for a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania firm Felix Grimes identified potential for coal mining and limestone quarrying around what became Hawesville in Hancock County and around what became Cannelton in Perry County, Indiana, and led 40 coal miners into Kentucky by barge down the Ohio River to those areas. Also by family tradition, Felix Grimes and his cousin Patrick Grimes led the construction of the Indiana Cotton Mill factory on the north bank of the Ohio River in Cannelton, and they also led the construction of the Roman Catholic church on the hill overlooking the factory, both built of local stone. The house has been moved or demolished.

Owensboro High School is a public high school located at 1800 Frederica Street in Owensboro, Kentucky, United States. The school's digital newspaper is The Digital Devil. Owensboro High School is one of only 33 high schools in Kentucky to be listed among the "Best High Schools 2009 Search" published in U.S. News & World Report in December 2009. This was the second consecutive year that OHS has received this distinction.

WKWC (90.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Album Adult Alternative (or Triple A) format. Licensed to Owensboro, Kentucky, United States, the station serves the Owensboro area. The station is currently owned by Kentucky Wesleyan College.

The Western Kentucky Botanical Garden (WKBG) is a botanical garden in Owensboro, Kentucky. The garden contains several themed gardens, including a large collection of daylilies with an American Hemerocallis Society-recognized display garden. Other gardens include a large herb garden, a rose garden, an English cottage garden, a Kentucky symbol quilt garden, a Japanese memorial garden, an ericaceous garden, the Moonlite Children's garden, the University of Kentucky Extension display garden, and a Western Kentucky University experimental garden. The garden also includes several ponds and many works of public art, including insect and wind sculptures. Buildings in the garden include a house donated and moved to the garden and used for administration offices and gatherings, a large gazebo, an educational classroom building with attached conservatory, an English Cottage, a Country Doctors office built in 1890, a Children's Playhouse, and an antique ticket booth built in 1890. WKBG is part of the American Horticultural Society's Reciprocal Admissions Program.
