The Montague Street Bridge is a railway bridge in South Melbourne, Australia, an inner suburb of Melbourne. The bridge is located at 83 Montague Street, between Woodgate Street and Gladstone Lane. The bridge has a very low height clearance of 3 metres or 9 feet 10 inches, and despite prominent signage warning tall vehicles not to approach, drivers who miscalculate the height of their vehicles frequently collide with and sometimes become wedged under the bridge. This has made the bridge a local landmark and the subject of much humorous media discussion.

Montague was a railway station, now converted to a light rail stop, on the former Port Melbourne railway line in the inner Melbourne suburb of South Melbourne, Australia. The station was located to the south of the Montague Street road underpass, between Woodgate Street and Gladstone Lane, with a large goods shed located on the Melbourne side of the station. The station buildings and platforms have been demolished, and there are now a pair of low-level platforms forming a tram stop on route 109.

South Wharf is also home to many apartments, shopping outlet Direct Factory Outlets and the 5-star luxury hotel Pan Pacific Hotel A five-storey Victorian warehouse, known as the Tea House (at 28 Clarendon Street), built in 1888, is one of the few buildings which survived the redevelopment of the area.

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is a group of three adjacent buildings next to the Yarra River in South Wharf, an inner-city suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The venues are owned and operated by the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust. Following the opening of its expansion in 2018, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre regained the status as being the largest convention and exhibition venue in Australia and one of the largest spaces in the southern hemisphere. The total size of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is 70,000 square metres. The venue consists of 63 meeting rooms, outdoor courtyard spaces, a Plenary that can be divided into three self-contained acoustically separate theatres, the Goldfields Theatre a 9,000 square metre multi-purpose event space with a retractable 1,000-seat theatre and 39,000 square metres of pillarless exhibition space. In 2017/18, 1,124 events were held at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. These events attracted 950,385 delegates, including 23 international conventions involving 28,750 delegates and 34 national conventions which attracted 38,626 delegates.In 2018/19 Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre contributed more than $1.10 billion in economic impact to the state of Victoria.

Planetshakers Church is an evangelical Christian Pentecostal megachurch adult and youth movement based in Melbourne, Australia, with several church campuses around the world. The church is also known for its contemporary worship music, with its bands Planetshakers and Planetboom, and its record label Planetshakers Ministries International, whose songs have been translated and reinterpreted in many evangelical churches of the world.

Polly Woodside is a Belfast-built, three-masted, iron-hulled barque, preserved in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia), and forming the central feature of the South Wharf precinct. The ship was originally built in Belfast by William J. Woodside and was launched in 1885. Polly Woodside is typical of thousands of smaller iron barques built in the last days of sail, intended for deep water trade around the world and designed to be operated as economically as possible.

The former Melbourne Maritime Museum, now, the Polly Woodside tall ship and museum, managed by the National Trust of Australia, is situated in South Wharf on the Yarra River in the city of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. It is home to the barque Polly Woodside, the now restored cargo vessel launched in 1885. The vessel resides in an original wooden-walled dry dock. The dry dock was used for the repair and service of ships for over 100 years. Historic buildings on the site include a pump house and boiler room for use in pumping water from the dry dock. Shed 2 is home to displays, artefacts and models of Polly Woodside relating to her working life. The museum is a popular attraction for school children and offers extensive education programs for primary and secondary school students. Facilities on the site include the interactive gallery, a souvenir shop and picnic area. Regular events include Pirate Sundays on the first Sunday of every month. The Seafarers Bridge is a footbridge over the Yarra River between Docklands and South Wharf in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The bridge connects the north and south banks of the river while providing a formal entrance to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The bridge main span is supported by steel ties connected to elliptical arches, with three arches on the north side and four arches on the south side. The bridge was named in homage to the ‘Mission to Seafarers’ centre located nearby on the northern bank of the Yarra River and to represent Melbourne's rich maritime history.

Electoral district of South Melbourne was an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the British colony of Victoria (Australia). Its area was defined by the Victoria Constitution Act as: "Bounded on the North by the Yarra Yarra River, from its Junction with the Saltwater River to Princes’ Bridge, on the East by the Road bearing Southeast to the Northern Angle of Section No. 46, St. Kilda, thence by Fitz Roy Street to the Sea Coast, thence by the Sea Coast to the Yarra Yarra River, and by the said River to its Junction with the Saltwater River, being the commencing Point."South Melbourne was abolished by the Victorian Electoral Act, 1858. New districts of Emerald Hill and Sandridge were created.

The electoral district of Albert Park is one of the electoral districts of Victoria, Australia, for the Victorian Legislative Assembly. It covers an area of 22 square kilometres (8.5 sq mi) in inner suburban Melbourne, and includes the suburbs of Albert Park, Middle Park, Port Melbourne, St Kilda West, Southbank, South Melbourne, South Wharf, and parts of St Kilda. It lies within the Southern Metropolitan Region of the upper house, the Legislative Council.It was first proclaimed in 1889, and has been held by the Labor Party without interruption since the 1950 election. John Thwaites was the member from 1992 to 2007, serving as deputy leader of Victorian Labor from 1996 to 2007 and as Deputy Premier of Victoria from 1999 to 2007. He and Premier Steve Bracks, the member for neighbouring Williamstown, both resigned on 30 July 2007. A by-election was held on 15 September 2007, which resulted in Martin Foley retaining the seat for Labor.

Clarendon Street Junction is a tram stop located at the intersection of the St Kilda and Port Melbourne light rails with Normanby Road, Whiteman and Clarendon Streets in Southbank, Victoria. It is served by Yarra Trams routes 96 and 109 on the Melbourne tram network. It is also the terminus for the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant.The original stop of two side platforms was opened in 1987 as an unnamed station, when the Port Melbourne and St Kilda railway lines were converted for tram operation. Sometime during the early 1990s an unofficial sign was erected at the site of the station with the name, "Port Junction." This caught on an eventually became official. In January 2016 it was rebuilt with an island platform and separate platform for the Colonial Tramcar Restaurant. At the same time it was renamed Clarendon Street Junction.

Southbank is an inner urban neighbourhood of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 1 km south of the Melbourne central business district. Its local government area are the cities of Melbourne and Port Phillip. At the 2016 Census, Southbank had a population of 18,709. Its southernmost area is considered part of the central business district of the city. Southbank is bordered to the north by the Yarra River, and to the east by St Kilda Road. Southbank's southern and western borders are bounded by Dorcas Street, Kings Way, Market Street, Ferrars Street, and a triangle bordered by Gladstone Street, Montague Street, and the West Gate Freeway.Southbank was formerly a mostly industrial area, and simply part of the locality of South Melbourne, and the City of South Melbourne. It was transformed into a densely populated district of high rise apartment and office buildings beginning in the early 1990s, as part of an urban renewal program. With the exceptions of the cultural precinct along St Kilda Road, few of the older industrial buildings were identified for retention. Today, Southbank is dominated by high-rise development. It is one of the primary business centres in Greater Melbourne, being the headquarters of Treasury Wine Estates, Crown Limited, Alumina, Incitec Pivot, The Herald and Weekly Times (including the Herald Sun), as well as regional offices of many major corporations, in a cluster of towers with over 340,000 square metres of office space in 2008. It is also one of the most densely populated areas of Melbourne, with a large cluster of apartment towers, including Australia's tallest tower measured to its highest floor, the Australia 108. Southbank Promenade and Southgate Restaurant and Shopping Precinct, on the southern bank of the Yarra River, extending to Crown Casino, is one of Melbourne's major entertainment precincts. Southgate's landmark Ophelia sculpture by Deborah Halpern has been used to represent Melbourne in tourism campaigns.
