Higashiōizumi (東大泉) is a district of Nerima, Tokyo, Japan, consisting of 1-chōme to 7-chōme. The district has an area of 2.433 km² as of October 10, 2005, and a population of 32,634 as of March 1, 2007. Its postal code is 178-0063. Located in the western part of Nerima, Higashiōizumi borders Ōizumimachi, Ōizumigakuenchō and Nishiōizumi on the north, Shakujiidai on the south, Miharadai and Shakujiimachi on the east, and Minamiōizumi on the west. Ōizumi-gakuen Station is situated in this district, around which a commercial and industrial neighborhood has flourished. On the other hand, Higashiōizumi 3-chōme and other areas nearby are known as well-designed, upper-class residential neighborhoods with a number of large stately homes.

Shakujii Park (石神井公園, Shakujii Kōen) is a public park in the Japanese town of Shakujii, in Tokyo's Nerima ward. It is one of the larger parks in the metropolis. As of April 2006, the site is managed directly by the Tokyo Metropolitan Park Association, an arrangement which ended in March 2011.The park contains within it two ponds, Sanpō-ji Pond and Shakujii Pond, several small Shintō shrines, and the remains of Shakujii castle. The Shakujii River runs east-west a short ways south of the park. The ponds are said to have formed naturally from the gushing up of underground water from the Musashino-dai Pond a short distance away. Over the years, however, the ponds have slowly shrunk, and so, in order to preserve the park's scenery and its recreational use, manmade systems have been installed to pump water into the ponds. The castle ruins date from the Kamakura period (1185–1333), or earlier, and thus it is known that the site was in use, and regarded as strategically important, for many centuries. The castle was the residence of the Toshima clan of samurai, who ruled over the surrounding area in the 14th–15th centuries. The clan's destruction came largely at the hands of Ōta Dōkan, who was responsible for the construction of Edo castle; many of the ruins and shrines in the area are associated with him. In the twentieth century, it came to be a popular site for birdwatching, strolling, and relaxation, and was formally established as a public park in 1959. In addition to being popular with local residents, the park is fairly well known throughout Tokyo. Shakujii Pond is a popular location for TV programs and films to shoot boating scenes, and the park, or its ponds, is often seen in manga, anime, and other productions of popular culture. Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma ½ takes place in Nerima ward, and there are a number of episodes of the manga/anime in which the characters visit the park. In addition, Kazutoshi Sakurai, of the Japanese band Mr. Children, is said to have conceived of the lyrics to the band's song "Tomorrow never knows" while jogging there.

Shakujii castle (石神井城, -jō) was a Japanese castle along the Shakujii River, in what is now Shakujii Park, in Tokyo's Nerima. The history of the inheritance of the feudal territory associated with it is the most clearly known of all territories in what is today Tokyo.

Hōya Station (保谷駅, Hōya-eki) is a passenger railway station on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line located in the city of Nishitōkyō, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Seibu Railway.

Hōya (保谷市, Hoya-shi) was a city located in the western portion of Tokyo Metropolis, Japan. At the time of its merger, the city had an estimated population of 102,720 and a density of 11,350 persons per km2. The total area was 9.05 km2. The area of modern Hōya was an agricultural region and agricultural products transshipment center for Edo in the premodern period, and was part of ancient Musashi Province. After the Meiji Restoration it came under the jurisdiction of the short-lived prefectures of Shinagawa (1868), Irima (1871), Kumagaya (1873) and Saitama (1876). On April 1, 1889, the villages of Kamihōya, Shimohōya, and Hōya-shinden merged to form the village of Hoya within Niikura District, then a portion of Saitama Prefecture. The district merged with Kitaadachi District in 1896, but subsequently was transferred to the administrative control of Tokyo Metropolis on April 1, 1907. Hōya was connected to central Tokyo by train from 1915. Hoya was elevated to town status in 1940, and to city status in 1967. On January 21, 2001, Hōya was merged with the neighboring city of Tanashi to create the city of Nishi-Tōkyō, and Hōya thus no longer exists as an independent municipality.

Ōizumigakuenchō (大泉学園町, Ōizumi-gakuen-chō) is a district of Nerima, Tokyo, Japan. It is located around 1.5 kilometers north of Ōizumi-gakuen Station of Seibu Railway Seibu Ikebukuro Line and consists of nine chōme. The district is colloquially simply called Ōizumigakuen. However, the simplified term is often used to refer to the greater Ōizumi area also encompassing Ōizumimachi (大泉町), Nishiōizumi (西大泉), Nishiōizumimachi (西大泉町), Higashiōizumi (東大泉) and Minamiōizumi (南大泉). Historically, the main industry of the Ōizumi area was agriculture. But after the establishment of Higashi Ōizumi Station (now Ōizumi-gakuen Station) in 1924, its surrounding area saw a great development as a commercial neighborhood and, consequently, Ōizumigakuenchō grew to be a quiet residential neighborhood for a number of upper-income earners.
