WGHL (105.1 MHz) is a commercial FM radio station licensed to Shepherdsville, Kentucky, and broadcasting to the Louisville metropolitan area. It airs an alternative rock radio format and it is owned by Alpha Media. It carries the nationally syndicated Woody Show in morning drive time from KYSR Los Angeles. WGHL's studios are on Shelbyville Road in Downtown Louisville. WGHL has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 1,900 watts. The transmitter tower is on Top Hill Road in the Jefferson Memorial Forest in Fairdale.

Prairie Village is a neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, composed of a series of subdivisions and farms centered on the intersection of Third Street Road, Valley Station Road, and Stonestreet Road.

Cardinal Hill Reservoir is a historic site in Jefferson County, Kentucky. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by Chicago architect Victor Andre Matteson. A one-story structure of stone (ashlar), it includes Doric pilasters, full entablature, parapet wall, shouldered architraves, quoins, and balustraded stairs. Lights along front bank of old reservoir set on pedestal bases "with tomb-like structures" holding lights at corners.

The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is a former sanatorium located in the Waverly Hills neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. In the early 1900s, Jefferson County was ravaged by an outbreak of tuberculosis – known as the "White Plague" – which prompted the construction of a new hospital. The Sanatorium opened in 1910 as a two-story facility able to accommodate between 40 and 50 tuberculosis patients. The hospital closed in 1961, due to the success of antibiotic drug streptomycin in lowering the needs for such a facility. At some point, plans were made to turn the abandoned hospital into a hotel, but this is no longer the case.

Fairdale is a former census-designated place in southern Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 7,658 at the 2000 census. In 2003, the area was annexed to the city of Louisville due to a merger between the city and Jefferson County's unincorporated community. Fairdale is now a neighborhood within the city limits of Louisville. The ZIP Code for Fairdale is 40118.It is within the boundaries of the Fairdale Fire Protection District, which serves Fairdale and surrounding areas, including the large Jefferson Memorial Forest.

Christian Academy of Louisville (a.k.a. "CAL") is a private Christian school system in Louisville, Kentucky. It is composed of several schools in the Louisville metropolitan area, the largest of which is CAL-English Station on the city's east side. The school system seeks to provide a "traditional education in a Christ-centered environment", and families seeking admission must have a reference from a minister certifying that they attend a church regularly. Each school within the system holds accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Kentucky Non-Public School Commission, the National Council of Private School Accreditation, the State of Kentucky, and the State of Indiana.

Auburndale is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Palatka Road to the north, and New Cut Road and Third Street to the east. The area was originally a part of Isaac H. Fenley's farm, called Hickory Grove, which was 1,100 acres (4 km2) in size by 1879. Developer W.E. Stonestreet purchased and began to subdivide part of the farm in 1907, but the area was not fully developed until the 1960s when the city annexed the area, and developers promoted Auburndale's proximity to Iroquois Park, which is located on the other side of Palatka Road. The current president of the Auburndale Neighborhood Association is Kenneth Williams, a lifelong resident of the community.

Parkwood is a neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky near Iroquois Park. It is located along Manslick Road and Gagel Avenue.

Waverly Hills is a neighborhood in Southwestern Louisville, Kentucky which is centered at Dixie Highway (US 31W) and Pages Lane. It is located in a hilly section of the city, which is part of the larger Knobs Region which extends into southeastern Kentucky. Its boundaries are roughly Stonestreet Road and 3rd Street Road to the south, Dixie Highway to the west, St Andrews Church Road to the north, and Auburndale to the east. Until the 1990s, the area remained largely rural and heavily forested, but has since been developed with many upscale subdivisions, and is now the most affluent area of Louisville's South End, with a median family income of over $101,499 and over 30% of inhabitants having a bachelor's degree or higher. Development has been most intense along Arnoldtown Road. It is named after the site of the former Waverly Hills Sanatorium. The area is also home to Waverly Hills Park.

Kenwood Hill is a hill and neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are New Cut Road, Kenwood Drive, Southside Drive and Palatka Road. The hill, earlier known as Sunshine Hill and then Cox's Knob, was used by Native Americans to spot buffalo. By 1868 Benoni Figg owned the area as a part of his charcoal business. His family oversaw development on the land until it was sold in 1890 to a development company which named the area Kenwood Hill. Southern Parkway (initially called Grand Boulevard) was opened soon after in 1893. In 1893, Kenwood Hill residents Patty and Mildred J. Hill composed the song "Good Morning to All", which was to become "Happy Birthday to You". While wealthy Louisvillians built summer homes in the area, and the first subdivision did not begin until 1942, the neighborhood was widely developed by the 1960s, so much so that extensive work was needed to halt erosion on the hill in the 1980s.
