Waverly Hills Sanatorium

Waverly Hills is a neighborhood in Southwestern Louisville, Kentucky which is centered at Dixie Highway (US 31W) and Pages Lane. It is located in a hilly section of the city, which is part of the larger Knobs Region which extends into southeastern Kentucky. Its boundaries are roughly Stonestreet Road and 3rd Street Road to the south, Dixie Highway to the west, St Andrews Church Road to the north, and Auburndale to the east. Until the 1990s, the area remained largely rural and heavily forested, but has since been developed with many upscale subdivisions, and is now the most affluent area of Louisville's South End, with a median family income of over $101,499 and over 30% of inhabitants having a bachelor's degree or higher. Development has been most intense along Arnoldtown Road. It is named after the site of the former Waverly Hills Sanatorium. The area is also home to Waverly Hills Park.

Christian Academy of Louisville (a.k.a. "CAL") is a private Christian school system in Louisville, Kentucky. It is composed of several schools in the Louisville metropolitan area, the largest of which is CAL-English Station on the city's east side. The school system seeks to provide a "traditional education in a Christ-centered environment", and families seeking admission must have a reference from a minister certifying that they attend a church regularly. Pleasure Ridge Park (often referred to simply as PRP) is a former census-designated place (CDP) in southwest Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 26,212 at the 2010 census. In 2003, the area was annexed to the city of Louisville due to a merger between the city and Jefferson County's unincorporated communities. Pleasure Ridge Park is now said to be a neighborhood within the city limits of Louisville by local media. This community is served by the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District. The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is one of seven volunteer and combination departments that make up the Jefferson County Fire Service. This department covers 62 square miles and serves the citizens of Pleasure Ridge Park, Valley Station, Lake Dreamland and Rubbertown Area in southwestern Jefferson County, Kentucky. Pleasure Ridge Park High School is located in the area.

Valley High School is a high school in the Valley Station area of Louisville, Kentucky. Valley became a "traditional" school in 1999 in an attempt to boost enrollment after it had fallen to 63% of capacity.Currently the enrollment is about 1,000. Valley has been added onto three times plus has had temporary buildings built. Over the years six schools have been built to relieve Valley enrollment and better serve the greater Louisville area.

Valley Station is a former census-designated place in southwestern Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 22,946 at the 2000 census. When the government of Jefferson County merged with the city of Louisville, Kentucky in 2003, residents of Valley Station also became citizens of Louisville Metro. As a result, Valley Station is said to be a neighborhood within the city limits of Louisville by local media. It was named for its location in the valley between Muldraugh Hill and the Knobs. The area was first settled in the mid-nineteenth century. The Salt River Turnpike, today's Dixie Highway, ran through the area. Large-scale suburban development occurred in the 1950s and 1960s, similar to nearby Pleasure Ridge Park. Valley High School is located in the area. Valley Station is home to Riverside, The Farnsley-Moremen Landing and the Levee Trail.
