Kenwood Hill is a hill and neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are New Cut Road, Kenwood Drive, Southside Drive and Palatka Road. The hill, earlier known as Sunshine Hill and then Cox's Knob, was used by Native Americans to spot buffalo. By 1868 Benoni Figg owned the area as a part of his charcoal business. His family oversaw development on the land until it was sold in 1890 to a development company which named the area Kenwood Hill. Southern Parkway (initially called Grand Boulevard) was opened soon after in 1893. In 1893, Kenwood Hill residents Patty and Mildred J. Hill composed the song "Good Morning to All", which was to become "Happy Birthday to You". While wealthy Louisvillians built summer homes in the area, and the first subdivision did not begin until 1942, the neighborhood was widely developed by the 1960s, so much so that extensive work was needed to halt erosion on the hill in the 1980s.

The Little Loomhouse is a place on the National Register of Historic Places in the Kenwood Hill neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky. It consists of three cabins constructed between 1870 and 1896: Esta Cabin, Tophouse, and Wisteria Cabin. It not only displays weavings, but has active education and resident artist programs. The organization participates in several local festivals, giving demonstrations of spinning, dyeing, and weaving. It is the biggest repository of original and classic textile patterns in the United States.Among the history of the cabins have been the visits of past First Ladies of the United States, and the composition of the song "Happy Birthday to You".

Colonial Gardens is a restaurant complex and local landmark located in the Kenwood Hill neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky, across New Cut Road from Iroquois Park. It was formerly an entertainment complex, and in its earliest existence, a part of Senning's Park, the site of the first zoo in Louisville.

DeSales High School, is a private, Roman Catholic, college-preparatory school for boys in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It was established in 1956 and is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville.

Iroquois Park is a 725-acre (3.0 km2) municipal park in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, who also designed Louisville's Cherokee Park and Shawnee Park, at what were then the edges of the city. Located south of downtown, Iroquois Park was promoted as "Louisville's Yellowstone". It is built on a large knob covered with old growth forest, and its most prominent feature are the scenic viewpoints atop the hill. The summit of Iroquois Park presents an all-at-once vista of the city of Louisville, seen from the south. A bronze plaque at the site demonstrates the plan of the city's park and parkway system as planned and executed by Olmsted's firm. The park features an amphitheater, basketball courts, 18-hole golf course, a disc golf course and a riding stable. Louisville Metro Parks and partner companies stage concerts, musicals, and other shows each summer at Iroquois Amphitheater.

Southside is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Third Street to the west, Woodlawn Avenue, Allmond Avenue and Hiawatha Avenue to the north, the CSX railroad tracks to the east, and the southern boundary of the Greater Louisville Technology Park (formerly Naval Ordnance), Southside Drive and Kenwood Drive to the south. The neighborhood has been settled by a wide array of immigrant groups, mostly refugees. Those from Vietnam dominated throughout most of the 1990s, but have since been succeeded by those from Cuba. 37.6% were born in other countries to parents also born in other countries (first among all neighborhoods in the pre-merger city,) making up 1,976 of the total population of 5,260. Southland Park is a neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Southside Drive to the west, the Greater Louisville Technology Park (formerly Naval Ordnance) to the north, the CSX railroad tracks to the east, and the pre-merger Louisville city limits to the south.

Iroquois is a neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. It is split into two parts by Beechmont. From a historical perspective, the northwestern section would be the Bryn Mawr neighborhood and the southeastern section would be the Kenwood neighborhood. The Iroquois neighborhood is roughly bounded by Hazelwood Avenue, Beechmont, Third Street, Kenwood Drive, and Iroquois Park. Located near the Louisville International Airport, residents have frequently complained of noise and challenged airport expansion. The largely residential neighborhood was developed as a suburb after World War II and into the 1950s.The notorious Iroquois Tenement Housing Complex was torn down in 2012 and replaced with the Hope Garden Project, an urban farming collaboration involving KentuckyOne Health, the Food Literacy Project and the Metro Housing Authority.Iroquois has a lending library, a branch of the Louisville Free Public Library.Notable residents include musician Bryson Tiller.

Parkwood is a neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky near Iroquois Park. It is located along Manslick Road and Gagel Avenue.

Cardinal Hill Reservoir is a historic site in Jefferson County, Kentucky. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was designed by Chicago architect Victor Andre Matteson. A one-story structure of stone (ashlar), it includes Doric pilasters, full entablature, parapet wall, shouldered architraves, quoins, and balustraded stairs. Lights along front bank of old reservoir set on pedestal bases "with tomb-like structures" holding lights at corners.

Iroquois High School is a high school located in southwestern Louisville, Kentucky, United States near Iroquois Park, in the Beechmont neighborhood (nestled between two portions of the Iroquois neighborhood). It is part of the Jefferson County Public Schools. As of the 2014–15 school year, there were 1,205 students at the school.

Hazelwood is a neighborhood on the south side of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Its boundaries are Manslick Road to the west, I-264 to the north, Taylor Boulevard to the east, and Hazelwood Avenue to the south. Its development, as with other nearby neighborhoods, was spurred by the opening of Iroquois Park in the early 1890s. E.E. Meacham first subdivided the land in 1899. A larger subdivision, called Bergmann's Addition, was financed in 1902. The Hazelwood Center, opened in 1907, is a former tuberculous center and since 1971 a hospital for the mentally handicapped located in the neighborhood.
