Fisantekraal is a township in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is located 10 kilometres (6 mi) northeast of Durbanville and about 40 kilometres (20 mi) northeast of central Cape Town. According to the 2011 census it has a population of 12,369 people.There is an airfield nearby by the same name, Fisantekraal Airfield.

Tygerberg Zoo was a 24-hectare (59-acre) zoo near Stellenbosch, South Africa, which was the only zoo in the Western Cape province and the closest to Cape Town. Established in 1979, it was privately run, operated for 33 years, and closed in 2012. It was "once a major tourist attraction and a hot spot for school educational outings" according to Cape Times coverage of its closure. Featured animals included chimpanzees and tigers, lions, and cheetahs. The zoo had 160 bird species and 63 reptile species, and "specialised in breeding rare and endangered animals."The zoo was notable for its breeding successes, including the 1998 birth of "the world's tiniest tortoise", a baby Namaqua speckled.

Kraaifontein is a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Organisationally and administratively it is included in the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality as a Northern Suburb. The name originated from large number of crows (Kraai in Afrikaans) that nest in the region.

Wallacedene is an informal housing settlement on the eastern outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa. The settlement was established during the 1980s when the relaxation of pass laws allowed rural populations to more readily migrate to urban centres. By 2004, Wallacedene had an estimated population of 21,000 people. The housing rights activist Irene Grootboom lived in Wallacedene. Grootboom and other inhabitants won a Constitutional Court ruling in 2000 which stated that they could not be evicted without being offered alternative accommodation.

Uitkamp Wetland Nature Reserve is a 32-hectare (79-acre) wetland reserve located in Durbanville in the Western Cape province of South Africa .A wetland valley that was proclaimed a nature reserve in 2001, this park lies within a region of Swartland Shale Renosterveld. It protects over 140 species of plants, many of which are very rare. More common Pink Watsonias and Arum Lilies cover the wetland in the spring, along with Restios, orchids, sundews and other colourful flowers. A major threat to the wetlands is from the invasive alien plants Port Jackson (Acacia saligna) and Kikuyu grass (Pennisetum clandestinum).

It is the oldest High School in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, and the only other school older in the Greater Cape Town metropolis is Simons Town School in the southern suburbs.

Brackenfell is a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa at the gateway to the Cape Winelands. Organisationally and administratively it is included in the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality as a Northern Suburb and is about 30 kilometres (19 mi) east of Cape Town City Bowl. In Brackenfell a variety of property situated on the slopes of the Bottelary Hills can be found.The Bracken Nature Reserve, situated in the Ruwari suburban area, was once a quarry site and was later declared a nature reserve after some negotiations between the Cape Town City Council and the Stellenbosch Divisional Council. Brackenfell offers schools, shopping malls and medical services, and many different sporting facilities.

The Dutch Reformed Church in Durbanville is a church building of the Dutch Reformed Church in Durbanville, South Africa, built in 1825 in the Cape Dutch style. The village was then still called Pompoenkraal. A separate bell tower has been built near the church with a bell visible from the outside. The church was enlarged in 1891. The building was restored and rededicated in 1957. The community of Durbanville has grown rapidly, especially in the 20th century.
