The Nines is a luxury hotel in Portland, Oregon. It is a franchise of The Luxury Collection by Marriott International and is owned by Pebblebrook Hotel Trust. The hotel and dining amenities are managed by Sage Hospitality Resources. Opened in 2008, the hotel occupies the top nine floors of the Meier & Frank Building, this paired with the building's opening date of 1909 gives the hotel its name. The 331-room hotel includes 32 suites, making it the sixth largest hotel in Portland based on the number of rooms after Hyatt Regency opened with 600 rooms in 2019.The hotel has two restaurants: Urban Farmer, a gourmet steakhouse is located on the 8th floor, which also serves as the lobby. Departure Restaurant and Lounge provides Pan-Asian cuisine and sits atop the building. Pebblebrook acquired the hotel in July 2014 for $127 million, or $384,000 per key.

The Georgian Room was a restaurant on the tenth floor of Portland, Oregon's Meier & Frank Building, in the United States. The Nines occupies space which had housed the restaurant. The Georgian Room hosted "ladies who lunch" and has been described as "a popular luncheon spot for well-to-do Portland women". In 2016, Grant Butler included the Georgian Room in The Oregonian's list of "97 long-gone Portland restaurants we wish were still around", writing, "Since the 1930s, this was a spot where ladies lunched on iceberg lettuce salads and chicken a la king. The food was hardly remarkable, but there was a sense that you were dining in a place with history. And the atmosphere – sea foam-green walls, majestic curtains, crystal chandeliers – was like an elegant grandma."

The Selling Building, also known as the Oregon National Building, is a building located in downtown Portland, Oregon, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was built in 1910 for Ben Selling & Associates, composed of Ben Selling and partners Charles Moore and Moses Blum.In 1967, when the Oregon National Life Company became a new, major tenant, the Selling Building was renamed the Oregon National Building.

The Marquam Building was an eight-story, Romanesque Revival office building in Portland, Oregon, United States. Named for Philip Augustus Marquam, the building has been called Portland's first skyscraper and first modern office building. The building resembled a structure designed by Seattle architect John Parkinson and Pennsylvania architect John B. Hamme as an entry in the Portland Chamber of Commerce design competition of 1890.The demolished Marquam Building, formerly at the corner of SW 6th Avenue and Morrison Street in Portland, Oregon, is not to be confused with the Marquam Building at 2501 SW 1st Avenue. The demolished building was replaced by the American Bank Building.

Animals in Pools is a series of fountains and bronze sculptures of Pacific Northwest animals, designed by American artist Georgia Gerber and located in Portland, Oregon, in the United States. The series was installed in 1986 as part of the renovations associated with construction of the MAX Light Rail. Funded by the Downtown Merchants Local Improvement District, TriMet and the United States Department of Transportation, the sculptures were presented as gifts to the city and remain part of the collection of the City of Portland and Multnomah County Public Art Collection courtesy of the Regional Arts & Culture Council.

The Meier & Frank Building is a fifteen-story, glazed terra cotta building located in downtown Portland, Oregon, across from the northeast corner of Pioneer Courthouse Square. The building is the former flagship store and headquarters building for the Meier & Frank department store chain, which was taken over by Macy's in 2006. In 2006–2007, the building's lower five floors were remodeled as a Macy's, while the upper eleven floors were renovated in 2008 into a luxury hotel known as The Nines. Macy's closed in April 2017 and the lower levels were rebuilt as office space. The building site is a full block, bounded by SW Fifth and Sixth Avenues and Morrison and Alder Streets. The present building was constructed in stages, starting in 1909 with major expansions occurring in 1915 and 1932. It replaced an earlier Meier and Frank store built in 1898.

The Ungar Building is a building in Portland, Oregon, United States. It is set to become known as the James Beard Public Market Building. The building has housed a Rite Aid location.

The Pioneer Courthouse is a federal courthouse in Portland, Oregon, United States. Built beginning in 1869, the structure is the oldest federal building in the Pacific Northwest, and the second-oldest west of the Mississippi River. Along with Pioneer Courthouse Square, it serves as the center of downtown Portland. It is also known as the Pioneer Post Office because a popular downtown Portland post office was, until 2005, located inside. The courthouse is one of four primary locations where the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit hears oral arguments. It also houses the chambers of the Portland-based judges on the Ninth Circuit.

The American Bank Building is a 15-floor building in Portland, Oregon, U.S. It stands 63 metres (207 ft) tall, and was built in 1913. It replaced the Marquam Building.

Pioneer Courthouse/Southwest 6th and Pioneer Place/Southwest 5th stations are a pair of light rail stations on the MAX Green, Orange and Yellow Lines in Portland, Oregon. They are the 4th stop southbound on the Portland Transit Mall MAX extension. The Pioneer Courthouse/Southwest 6th station is served only by the Green and Yellow Lines, and the Pioneer Place/Southwest 5th station is served only by the Green and Orange Lines. Originally, from the opening of these stations in 2009 until 2015, the Yellow Line served both, but in September 2015 the then-new Orange Line replaced the Yellow Line at all southbound stations on the transit mall. The stations are built into the sidewalks of 5th and 6th Avenues, with the 5th Avenue platform heading southbound and the 6th Avenue platform northbound. The station connects with Blue and Red Line trains on the original downtown MAX tracks at the Pioneer Square South, Pioneer Square North, Mall/SW 4th Avenue, and Mall/SW 5th Avenue stations. Nearby points of interest include Pioneer Courthouse Square, Pioneer Place and the Pioneer Courthouse. When opened on August 30, 2009, the stations were located in Fareless Square (within fare zone 1), which was renamed the Free Rail Zone four months later, but the fare-free zone was eliminated in 2012 when TriMet discontinued all use of fare zones.

The Oregonian Building was a building in downtown Portland, Oregon, United States, which served as the headquarters of Portland's major newspaper, The Oregonian, from 1892 to 1948. It was the first steel-framed building constructed in the Western U.S., and from its opening until 1911 it was the tallest building in Portland. In addition to the newspaper's offices and printing press, in 1922 the building became the home of Portland's first commercial radio station, KGW, which was owned by the Oregonian Publishing Company. A second radio station, KEX, was acquired by the paper in 1933, and joined KGW in new, shared studios in the Oregonian Building. A fire in 1943 forced the radio stations to relocate. The company sold the building in December 1947 as it prepared for a move to a larger building. In June 1948, the newspaper moved to a new building on Southwest Broadway, also called the Oregonian Building. The 1892 building with the landmark clock tower then stood vacant for about two years until it was demolished, in 1950.
