Frankfurt-Griesheim station

Griesheim (German pronunciation: [ˈɡʁiːsˌhaɪ̯m] (listen)) is a quarter of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk West. Griesheim had been an independent town until 1928, the year of its suburbanisation. It is located between Nied, Sossenheim, Bockenheim, Gallus and Schwanheim.

Y-75 Frankfurt airfield was a German military airport. It was where No. 665 Squadron RCAF maintained one aircraft section from May to July, 1945.

Schwanheim is a quarter of Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It is part of the Ortsbezirk West and is subdivided into the Stadtbezirke Schwanheim, Goldstein-Ost and Goldstein-West.

Holy Roman Emperor Charles V had won a victory against Protestant forces in the Schmalkaldic War of 1547. Many Protestant princes were unhappy with the religious terms of the Augsburg Interim imposed after this victory. In January 1552, led by Maurice of Saxony, many formed an alliance with Henry II of France at the Treaty of Chambord. In return for French funding and assistance, Henry was promised lands in western Germany. In the ensuing Princes' Revolt, also known as the Second Schmalkaldic War, Charles was driven out of Germany to his ancestral lands in Austria, Innsbruck by the Protestant alliance, while Henry captured the three Rhine Bishoprics of Metz, Verdun and Toul. In August 1552, weary from three decades of religious civil war, Charles guaranteed Lutheran religious freedoms in the Peace of Passau. The implementation of the Augsburg Interim was cancelled. The Protestant princes taken prisoner during the Schmalkaldic War, John Frederick of Saxony and Philip of Hesse, were released. A precursor to the Peace of Augsburg of September 1555, the Peace of Passau effectively surrendered Charles V's lifelong quest for European religious unity.In August 1552 his younger brother Archduke Ferdinand I of Austria concluded the Peace of Passau, whereby he formally accepted the Lutheran Augsburg Confession, confirmed by the emperor himself in the 1555 Peace of Augsburg.

Au is the name of a building that has been squatted since 1983 in Rödelheim in Frankfurt, Germany. It bills itself as a 'self-organised cultural Centre and living project' (German: Selbstverwaltetes Kulturelles Zentrum und Wohnprojekt).Au was home to the Au Squat Festival on June 3, 2006, featuring many punk rock bands such as The Restarts. The 2007 festival was on June 9 with bands such as Sensa Yuma and the 2008 festival took place on June 7 with headliners Life... But How to Live It?. Any profits went to human rights organizations and were also given to antifascist networks and other autonomous centres. Beside the open air festival there are many other concerts and cultural or political events during the year.

Frankfurt-Rödelheim station is a regional and S-Bahn station in western Frankfurt am Main, Germany on the Homburg line, in the district of Rödelheim. The Kronberg line branches off the Homburg line north of the station and the junction with the Rebstock curve of the former Bad Nauheim–Wiesbaden line (Bäderbahn) is south of the station. The station connects with several bus lines.

Stadion am Brentanobad is a multi-use stadium in Frankfurt, Germany. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of 1. FFC Frankfurt and Rot-Weiß Frankfurt. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500 places.

Frankfurt-Nied station is a station in the district of Nied of the city of Frankfurt in the German state of Hesse on the Main-Lahn Railway. It is now served only by lines S1 and S 2 of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station.

Frankfurt am Main Stadion station (German: Bahnhof Frankfurt am Main Stadion) is a junction railway station in Frankfurt, Germany. Stadion station is close to Frankfurt's main football stadium, the Commerzbank-Arena. Prior to 1937 it was called Frankfurt-Goldstein and from then until 24 December 2005 it was called Frankfurt-Sportfeld ("Sport field"). According to Deutsche Bahn it is used by 570 trains a day and is the busiest railway junction in Germany. The station is located about a kilometre from the stadium.
