Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Public School is a private school in Thane, Maharashtra, India. The school was founded in 1995 at Balkum, Thane, but was moved to Tulsidham in 2004. It is one of a number of schools run by the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society which first started in Lahore. It follows the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pattern of education. The school caters for children from nursery through to Standard Ten. The school hosted Khoj, an International Science Festival, for three consecutive years.

Upvan (or Upavan) Lake is located in Thane in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is known for hosting the Sanskruti Arts Festival. Once, the major source of water for the entire Thane city, Upvan lake is now used primarily for recreation. The official residence of the Mayor of Thane Municipal Corporation lies adjacent to the lake.Upvan was decorated during Sanskruti Arts Festival 2015. Over 50,000 people visit the lake during the festival.

Bim's Paradise English School is a privately run school which is based in Thane, India. It is run by Excelssior Education Society. The school was established in 1979 by Mr & Mrs Khanna. Vartak Nagar is a locality in Thane city of Maharashtra state in India. It's nearly 4.3 kilometers from Thane railway station. Pokhran Road No. 1 cuts through this locality to join Pokhran Road No. 2 at Upvan Lake. A major part of Vartak Nagar is covered by the 63-acre MHADA colony buildings. These buildings are largely occupied by industrial workers employed in manufacturing units in and around Thane.Most of the residents used to work in manufacturing units/factories around Vartak Nagar and other localities.
