The Hinze Dam is a rock and earth-fill embankment dam with an un-gated spillway across the Nerang River in the Gold Coast hinterland of South East, Queensland, Australia. The main purpose of the dam is for potable water supply of the Gold Coast region. The impounded reservoir is called Advancetown Lake.Hinze Dam was named in honour of local pioneers Carl and Johanna Hinze (grandparents of Queensland politician Russ Hinze) who lived in the valley that was flooded by the dam. The dam is almost always full, reaching 96% of capacity even during dry spells.

The H2 Hinde Tree is a heritage-listed tree of the species Macadamia integrifolia at Colliston, 926 Gilston Road, Gilston, City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 14 August 2008.

The Grand Golf Club is a privately–owned and membership–based golf club located in the suburb of Gilston in the Gold Coast hinterland of South East Queensland, Australia. While the street address is located in Gilston, the course is located on the opposite side of the Nerang River in Advancetown. It hosted the Australian Open in 2001, won by Stuart Appleby, an Australian. The Grand Golf Club has its entrance at 364 Gilston Road, Gilston. Most of the course is in neighbouring Advancetown, accessed by a bridge over the Nerang River. This private club has a 19-hole golf course designed by Greg Norman at a cost of A$30 million for its then Japanese owners. The course opened in 1990; however with no funds available for the daily operation of the course, it closed in dramatic circumstances after just one day. The course stayed untouched for five years and became unkempt and overgrown before a consortium of Australian business people acquired the course and established The Grand Golf Club. After 18 months of restoration, led by Norman, the course was re-opened in 1997 by Greg Norman. In 2004 and again in 2006 the course was ranked by Golf Australia within the top 35 golf courses in Australia.

Springbrook Road is a heritage-listed road at Springbrook–Mudgeeraba Road, Springbrook, Gold Coast City, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1925 to 1928. It is also known as Memorial Cairn, Springbrook–Mudgeeraba Road, and Toll Road. It is part of State Route 99. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 22 October 1999. The road has been closed from Little Nerang Dam since Cyclone Debbie with repairs expected to be completed before 2019.This road consists of two separate state-controlled roads as defined by the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). The part from Mudgeeraba to the Pine Creek Road intersection in Springbrook is named Gold Coast–Springbrook Road (number 104) and the other, from that intersection to the end, is named Springbrook Road (number 2015). Both roads are part of the district network and are rated as local roads of regional significance (LRRS).

The Springbrook National Park is a protected national park that is located in the Gold Coast hinterland of Queensland, Australia. The 6,197-hectare (15,310-acre) park is situated on the McPherson Range, near Springbrook, approximately 100 kilometres (62 mi) south of Brisbane. The park is part of the Shield Volcano Group of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. In December 1994, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee officially extended the area now known as the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area over the Scenic Rim (including Main Range, Mount Barney, Lamington, and Springbrook National Parks, and Goomburra Forest Reserve) and the rainforests of northern New South Wales. In 2007 the areas of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia were added to the Australian National Heritage List. The park is part of the Scenic Rim Important Bird Area, identified as such by BirdLife International because of its importance in the conservation of several species of threatened birds.In 2009 as part of the Q150 celebrations, the Springbrook National Park was announced as one of the Q150 Icons of Queensland for its role as a "Natural attraction".The park was the location for the discovery of the rare Eucryphia jinksii species of subtropical tree.

The main purpose of the dam is for potable water supply of the Gold Coast region. The impounded reservoir is also called Little Nerang Dam. The dam was closed to the public in 2013 due to safety concerns.
