Lommedalen is a rural community in a small valley in Bærum municipality in the county of Akershus, Norway. The population is about 3,000 people. Lommedalen valley opens up at Bærums Verk and runs about 5 kilometers to the north.Lommedalen includes wooded areas, some agricultural land, and residential zones. It includes parts of the forest area Krokskogen. The river Lomma runs through the valley. A forest road from Lommedalen goes to Hole in Buskerud. The pilgrim road to Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim passed through Lommedalen in medieval times and was resurrected in celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Trondheim in 1997. Lommedalen is a popular area for skiing and slalom in winter time and horseback riding in summer time. Lake Burudvann is a popular hiking destinations and seaside resort located in the area. The area is also home to two golf courses, Lommedalen Golf Club and Bærum Golf Club. Lommedalsbanen is a narrow gauge railway museum located at the top of the valley. Lommedalen church (Lommedalen kirke) dates from 1995. The building material is stone and brick. The church is of rectangular plan and 700 number of seats.

Gullhaug is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Its population (2007) is 3,468. The area was developed with housing in the 1980s.

Skui is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Together with the district Emma Hjort, its population (2007) is 6,281.

The Bærum mosque shooting or Al-Noor Islamic Centre shooting occurred on 10 August 2019 at the Al-Noor Islamic Centre mosque in Bærum, Norway, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of the capital city Oslo. Philip Manshaus, a 21-year-old Norwegian man, shot and killed his adopted stepsister at their home. He then drove to the mosque and shot his way through the glass door before opening fire, hitting no one. He was subdued by three worshippers after a scuffle and turned over to police. Manshaus was convicted of murder and committing an act of terrorism, and sentenced to 21 years preventative detention - an order which, in Norway, can be extended indefinitely.

Bærums Verk is a village in Bærum in Viken, Norway, with a population of about 8000. It is located on both sides of the river Lomma.

Skuibakken is a ski jumping hill in Bærum in Akershus county, Norway. Skuibakken was opened in 1928. It is owned by Bærums Skiklub. The first major rebuilding began in the autumn of 1938. By the end of the 1950s, it was considered to build a modern ski slope. Today's facilities are largely the result of renovations in 1962-63 and partly in the early 1970s. It hosted two FIS Ski jumping World Cup events in 1981 and 1983. Former ski jumper Paal Hansen holds the ski slope record from 1996.

Norwegian National Road 168 (Norwegian: Riksvei 168) is a major route between Bærum and Oslo, Norway. It stretches from the industrial area of Rud, Bærum to the inner city of Oslo. It is connected with important roads like the European route E16 and the National Roads 150 (Ring 3), 161 (Ring 2) and 162 (Ring 1). The entire route is 20.6 km. Places to be found along the route are Bærums Verk, Øverland, Hosle, Østerås, Grini, Røa, Hovseter, Smestad, Vestre gravlund, Majorstuen and Uranienborg. It ends near the Royal Palace, Oslo. The road passes through both densely populated and rural areas. Due to the importance of this road and its many large intersections there is relatively heavy traffic during peak hours. A tunnel under Røa is considered. The road consists mainly of two lanes, but from Smestad to Majorstuen it has four lanes. At certain sections, the Røa Line runs parallel to the road.

Bryn Church (Norwegian: Bryn kirke) is a long church (Norwegian: langkirke) located in Rykkinn in the municipality of Bærum in Akershus county, Norway. The church functions both as a road church and is the parish church for Bryn.

Kolsås (Norwegian pronunciation: [ˈkôɫsoːs]), sometimes called Kolsaas, is a hill in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Geologically, Kolsås belongs to the Oslo Graben area. Its two peaks consist of hard rhomb porphyric lava covering softer rocks, forming steep cliffs to the east, south and west.
