Kolsås

Bærum (Norwegian: [ˈbæ̂ːrʉm] ) is a municipality in the Greater Oslo Region in Akershus County, Norway. It forms an affluent suburb of Oslo on the west coast of the city. Bærum is Norway's fifth largest municipality with a population of 128,760 (2021). The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Sandvika. Bærum was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838. Bærum has the highest income per capita in Norway and the highest proportion of university-educated individuals. Bærum, particularly its eastern neighbourhoods bordering West End Oslo, is one of Norway's priciest and most fashionable residential areas, leading Bærum residents to be frequently stereotyped as snobs in Norwegian popular culture. The municipality has been voted the best Norwegian place to live in considering governance and public services to citizens.

Norwegian National Road 168 (Norwegian: Riksvei 168) is a major route between Bærum and Oslo, Norway. It stretches from the industrial area of Rud, Bærum to the inner city of Oslo. It is connected with important roads like the European route E16 and the National Roads 150 (Ring 3), 161 (Ring 2) and 162 (Ring 1). The entire route is 20.6 km. Places to be found along the route are Bærums Verk, Øverland, Hosle, Østerås, Grini, Røa, Hovseter, Smestad, Vestre gravlund, Majorstuen and Uranienborg. It ends near the Royal Palace, Oslo. The road passes through both densely populated and rural areas. Due to the importance of this road and its many large intersections there is relatively heavy traffic during peak hours. A tunnel under Røa is considered. The road consists mainly of two lanes, but from Smestad to Majorstuen it has four lanes. At certain sections, the Røa Line runs parallel to the road.

Bærums Verk is a village in Bærum in Viken, Norway, with a population of about 8000. It is located on both sides of the river Lomma.

Lesterud is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Its population (2007) is 3,302.

Hauger is a station on the Kolsås Line (line 3) on the Oslo Metro system. It is located between Kolsås and Gjettum, 16.5 kilometers (10.3 mi) from Stortinget. It serves the neighborhood Hauger and the mainly industrial area Rud. Two upper secondary schools Rud and Rosenvilde are located in its vicinity. The station was opened on 1 January 1930 as part of the tramway Lilleaker Line.

Gullhaug is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Its population (2007) is 3,468. The area was developed with housing in the 1980s.

Kolsås is the end station of the Kolsås Line on the Oslo Metro. The station, located in Bærum municipality, comes after Hauger, and is located 17.3 kilometers (10.7 mi) from Stortinget. The station and line into Bærum was originally not built as a metro line but as the Lilleaker Line, built by Bærumsbanen. The station opened 1 January 1930. It was not until 1942 when the line became part of the heavier metro network. The station retains a turning loop for trams which can only run forwards. The station is the one closest to the military base Kolsås leir, which was the former home of NATO's Allied Forces Northern Europe. The station, along with most of the Kolsås Line was closed for maintenance, between 1 July 2006 and 12 October 2014. The station was also closed for over a year between 1 July 2003 and 22 November 2004.

Rosenvilde High School is a high school at Kolsås in Bærum municipality in the Viken (county) of Norway. The school offers an education within the general trades, restaurants and food processing, health and social care and media and communications, and in addition, supplementary school courses in general subjects. It is the closest school to Asker offering art education.

Dælivannet is a lake in Bærum, Akershus county, Norway. It lies just beneath the Kolsås hill on the East side. The lake contains perch and pike and has a rich bird life. The lake has been the subject of paintings and sketches by many significant artists including, Claude Monet, Eilif Peterssen and Christian Skredsvig (1854–1924), whose painting Seljefløiten shows a boy playing the flute by the South-East side of Dælivannet.

Levre is a district in the municipality of Bærum, Norway. Its population as of 2007 was 5,368.It is served by the rail station Gjettum on the Kolsås Line.

Gjettum is a station on the Kolsås Line of the Oslo Metro. It is located between Hauger and Avløs at the foot of Kolsås, 15.5 kilometers (9.6 mi) from Stortinget. The station was opened 1 January 1930 as part of the tramway Lilleaker Line.Along with most of the line, Gjettum was closed for upgrades between 1 July 2006 and 12 October 2014 with its service temporarily provided by bus route 42. Gjettum, among other things, received longer platforms which can accommodate trains with up to six cars like most of the subway system and was moved to compensate for the closure of Valler.

Valler is a former station on the Kolsås Line of the Oslo Metro. It was located between Gjettum and Avløs, 14.8 kilometers (9.2 mi) from Stortinget. The station opened on 1 January 1930 as part of the tramway Lilleaker Line.Along with most of the line, Valler has been closed for upgrades since 1 July 2006 and its service is temporarily provided by bus. The line reopened on 12 October 2014, but it was decided that Valler would not reopen. Instead, Gjettum station was moved closer to Valler. Gjettum, among other things, received longer platforms which can accommodate trains with up to six cars like most of the subway system.
