Université Laval

The Faculté de droit de l'Université Laval is the law school of Université Laval. Founded in 1852, it is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in North America. It hosts more than 1,000 students in its curriculum of first, second, and third years, with more than 45 lecturers teaching and supervising research projects in most areas of law. The research activity is particularly intense in the field of human rights and public freedoms in light of legal issues, economic law, environmental law, public law, and private international trade. Teaching and research are based on a law library with more than 200,000 documents, which receives subscriptions of several hundred legal periodicals from Quebec, Canada, and internationally.

CHYZ-FM is the college radio station for Université Laval, located in Sainte-Foy, Québec, Canada. Its frequency is 94.3 MHz on the FM dial. Formerly known as Radio Campus Laval, CHYZ-FM broadcasts in French. The station is run by volunteers, most of whom are Laval students. Station programming follows mostly a music radio format of many music genres. After it was founded in 1991, when student radio programs from various university faculties merged to form Radio Campus Laval, the station launched its programming on closed circuit and cable FM. When it began broadcasting on the FM band in 1997, it became known by its call letters CHYZ. In 2000, it started broadcasting via the Internet. Since October 2005, CHYZ has been broadcasting with a 6000-watt antenna from a site at the university and, as a result, can now be heard on the FM band throughout the Greater Quebec City Area.

The Faculté de médecine is one of four medical schools in Quebec. The faculty is part of the Université Laval and is located in Quebec City.

The Pavillon de l'éducation physique et des sports de l'Université Laval ("Laval University Sports and Physical Education Complex"), usually called PEPS for short, is a sports complex located in Quebec City, Quebec, on the Université Laval campus. PEPS opened in 1970 and includes an outdoor stadium, an indoor stadium, two indoor swimming pools (aquatic centre), basketball and tennis courts, a fitness centre, and two hockey arenas. For the 1976 Summer Olympics, it hosted four women's and seven men's team handball competitions.The main arena seats 2,000 and was home to the reborn Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 1997 to 1999 when they moved back to their traditional home at the Colisée Pepsi. From 2004 to 2018, PEPS was home to the WTA Tour Coupe Banque Nationale. From 2009 to 2012, it was home to the Quebec Kebs basketball franchise in the National Basketball League of Canada. A major expansion from 2010 to 2012 added an indoor Olympic size swimming pool, a 3,000-seat gymnasium, a covered soccer stadium, and other facilities. Upgrades were also made to the outdoor stadium.

The outdoor Telus Stadium or Stade TELUS-Université Laval is home of the Laval Rouge et Or of U Sports football. It is officially a 12,817-seat Canadian football and soccer stadium. It was built in 1994. Approximately 2,000 seats were added to the stadium in preparation for the two events, which were the 45th and 46th Vanier Cup games, bringing seated capacity up to 12,257 from the previous 10,200. In June 2003, a Canadian Football League exhibition game between the Montreal Alouettes and the Ottawa Renegades was held at PEPS. In December 2008, Canadian Interuniversity Sport awarded the 2009 and 2010 Vanier Cup to Quebec City. The 2009 title game was sold out, with 18,628 fans in the stands including standing room. Attendance at the 2010 Vanier Cup was over 16,000. Subsequent championship games were awarded to Laval in 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2019. On October 20, 2019, a record 19,381 fans attended the Rouge et Or game against the Montreal Carabins as the program celebrated their 25th anniversary.

Place Sainte-Foy is an upscale shopping mall located in the former city of Sainte-Foy of Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It is owned by Ivanhoé Cambridge. The anchors are Simons, Signature Maurice Tanguay, Metro, Saks Off 5th and Archambault. The mall has 135 stores covering 590,000 square feet (54,800 square metres) including the first Apple Store in the Capitale-Nationale. The mall is situated next to Université Laval and to the shopping malls Laurier Québec and Place de la Cité. Place Sainte-Foy, one of Ivanhoé Cambridge's oldest shopping centres, opened in phases in late 1958 and early 1959 and was developed by Ivanhoe Corporation on a site formerly anchored by just a Steinberg supermarket since November 1957. The Royal Bank of Canada is the oldest tenant of Place Sainte-Foy, while the Salon Maxime hairdresser shop has been in the mall for over 50 years. Initially an outdoor shopping centre, Place Sainte-Foy expanded in late 1961 to become a mall with 56 new stores including Simons and Wise. Among the current anchor tenants, Simons is by far the oldest; inaugurated in 1961 it expanded in 1988 and 2010. Past anchors include Steinberg (1958–92), Miracle Mart/M (1963–92), Eaton (1975–99), Holt Renfrew (1965-2015) and Les Ailes de la Mode (1997-2015). The sale of Mail Champlain to Cominar Real Estate Investment Trust in 2014 left Place Sainte-Foy as the last remaining shopping mall originally built by the former Ivanhoe Corporation that is still managed by Ivanhoé Cambridge. From 2004 to 2012, Place Sainte-Foy was owned in equal proportions by Ivanhoé Cambridge and Commerzbank AG (Commerz Real) of Germany. Ivanhoé Cambridge reacquired Commerbanz's stake in Place Sainte-Foy in 2012 to become wholly owner of the mall again.In October 2010, Place Sainte-Foy completed a two-year renovations which added an underground parking to the mall and increased the size of the Simons store.The most recent investment project was announced in 2016, when the mall owners announced a $60 million project to build a state-of-the-art parking facility in the rear of the mall, adjoining Hochelaga Boulevard. The structure will include four stories above ground and one other underground level, totaling 3000 parking spaces.

Champlain College St. Lawrence (French: College Champlain St.Lawrence) is a campus belonging to Champlain Regional College. The campus is located in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, and is the only English-language Cégep to serve the region.

The Cimetière Notre-Dame-de-Belmont (English: Belmont Cemetery) is a historic garden cemetery located in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. The Roman Catholic cemetery was built between 1857 and 1859. Its architect, Charles Baillargé, took inspiration from the noted garden cemetery of Green-Wood, in Brooklyn, New York State, United States. The cemetery was blessed on July 10, 1859, and Belmont Cemetery's first burial took place two days later.The war graves section is maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Undeveloped sections remain next to Quebec Autoroute 440. On the grounds is Coopérative funéraire des Deux Rives – Centre du Plateau. The cemetery is now surround by residential homes and Parc Centre de glisse Myrand.

The Aérodrome Saint-Louis, also called Aérodrome du Bois Gomin or Canadian Transcontinental Airways Airport, was the first airfield of the Quebec City area of Quebec, Canada. It was located in the suburb of Sainte-Foy. It was established by Canadian Transcontinental Airways (1927–38) (Compagnie Aérienne Transcontinentale) in 1928 in the fields between Cap-Rouge Road (now called Chemin Saint-Louis) and Gomin Road (Chemin Gomin), east of the Route de l'Église where the Laurier Québec and Place Sainte-Foy shopping centres are currently located. It was used during winter to transport mail between Montreal and Rimouski. It was closed in 1938, when Canadian Transcontinental Airways ceased operations, and in 1939 a new airfield was established in Quebec City; Aéroport de l'Ancienne Lorette, today known as Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport.

Cégep de Sainte-Foy is a French-language CEGEP in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. It is located in the borough of Sainte-Foy–Sillery–Cap-Rouge. There are nearly 8,000 students registered at the college, making it one of the largest in the province outside of Montreal. It was founded in 1967.

Laurier Québec (formerly called and still commonly referred to as Place Laurier) is one of Canada's largest shopping malls. It is located in Quebec City, Quebec (in what was formerly the city of Sainte-Foy). Though Galeries de la Capitale is the biggest mall in the city in terms of area, Laurier Quebec remains the largest by number of tenants. It has approximately 300 stores and restaurants and is built on three levels with underground, multilevel, and outdoor parking. Major tenants include La Baie d'Hudson, Best Buy, Toys "R" Us, Marshalls and Walmart. Other tenants include jewellery, gift, shoe, book, eyeware, music, toy, electronics, clothing, hardware, and pet stores as well as hair and beauty salons. Four of the original 50 tenants from 1961 are still in the mall: Reitmans, the Laurier Comneuf cordwainer shop, the Doucet jewellery store, and the Laurier dry-cleaner. The mall was noteworthy for having two Zellers stores at the same time in the 1990s and two Dominion supermarkets in the 1960s.
