Croes Robert Wood

The Church of St Catwg in Cwmcarvan, Monmouthshire, Wales, is a parish church dating from the late 13th or early 14th century. It is dedicated to Saint Catwg or Cadoc, a 5th/6th-century Welsh saint. The existing building dates mainly from the 15th century, including its Tudor tower dating from 1525. The church was extensively restored by John Prichard in 1872–1879. It is an active parish church and a Grade II* listed building.

Cwmcarvan (Welsh: Cwmcarfan) is a small rural village in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. It is located 4 miles south west of Monmouth and about 4 miles east of Raglan, off the old A40 road two miles NW of Trellech.

The Cross at Croes Llwyd Farm, Raglan, Monmouthshire is a medieval cross which indicated a boundary of the Lordship of Raglan. As a rare medieval survival, it is both a Grade I listed structure and a Scheduled monument.

Caer Llan is a field studies centre, conference centre and former country house located at Lydart within the community of Mitchel Troy, Monmouthshire, south east Wales, about 3 miles (4.8 km) south-west of Monmouth. It is close to the top of a scarp slope with extensive views westwards over the valley of the River Trothy, and is accessed from the B4293 road.

Llanishen (Welsh: Llanisien) is a village in Monmouthshire, southeast Wales, United Kingdom. It is located 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Monmouth and 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Trellech on the B4293 road, although the main part of the village is set immediately to the west of the road, overlooking the Vale of Usk.

Gaer hillfort (Welsh: Bryngaer Croes Trelech) is a Celtic Iron Age hillfort near Trellech in Monmouthshire, Wales (grid reference SO492037). This fort was registered by Cadw and is identified with the number SAM: MM077. There are approximately 300 hillforts in CADW's list of monuments, although archaeologists believe there were nearly 600 in total.

Trellech (occasionally spelt Trelech, Treleck or Trelleck; Welsh: Tryleg) is a village and parish in Monmouthshire, south-east Wales. Located 5 miles (8 km) south of Monmouth and 4 miles (6.4 km) north-north-west of Tintern, Trellech lies on a plateau above the Wye Valley on the southern fringes of 320 acres (130 ha) of woodland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Three Bronze Age standing stones are situated in the village, known as Harold's Stones, which overlook the historic church of St Nicholas, a Grade I listed building. Although a relatively small village in modern times, it was one of the largest towns in Wales in the 13th century, and is now a site of archaeological interest to determine its extent and role at that time. The village is designated as a conservation area.There are four nature reserves nearby; New Grove Flower Meadow, noted for its orchids, and Trellech Beacon are both owned by Gwent Wildlife Trust while Cleddon Bog and Croes Robert Wood are both SSSIs.

The Church of St Nicholas, Trellech, Monmouthshire is a parish church with its origins in the 14th century. The historical and architectural evidence suggests that it was constructed largely in a single building period c.1300. The style is Decorated Gothic. The church was extended and repaired in the 18th century, and underwent two major reconstructions in 1893 and 1992. An "exceptionally fine and well preserved medieval church", it is a Grade I listed building. It remains an active parish church in the parish of Trellech and Penallt.
