Church of St Nicholas, Trellech

Trellech (occasionally spelt Trelech, Treleck or Trelleck; Welsh: Tryleg) is a village and parish in Monmouthshire, south-east Wales. Located 5 miles (8 km) south of Monmouth and 4 miles (6.4 km) north-north-west of Tintern, Trellech lies on a plateau above the Wye Valley on the southern fringes of 320 acres (130 ha) of woodland in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Three Bronze Age standing stones are situated in the village, known as Harold's Stones, which overlook the historic church of St Nicholas, a Grade I listed building. Although a relatively small village in modern times, it was one of the largest towns in Wales in the 13th century, and is now a site of archaeological interest to determine its extent and role at that time. The village is designated as a conservation area.There are four nature reserves nearby; New Grove Flower Meadow, noted for its orchids, and Trellech Beacon are both owned by Gwent Wildlife Trust while Cleddon Bog and Croes Robert Wood are both SSSIs.

Trellech United is a community and electoral ward in the county of Monmouthshire, Wales. It lies south of the county town of Monmouth next to the Wales-England border.

Beacon Hill is the highest hill in eastern Monmouthshire, South Wales. It is located 0.6 miles (0.97 km) due east of the village of Trellech, and 1 mile (1.6 km) north-west of Llandogo. Its crowning point at 306m / 1006 ft above sea level is marked by an Ordnance Survey triangulation pillar. The summit, eastern slopes and uppermost western slopes are owned by Natural Resources Wales which manages the area not only for timber production but for recreation also.

Gaer hillfort (Welsh: Bryngaer Croes Trelech) is a Celtic Iron Age hillfort near Trellech in Monmouthshire, Wales (grid reference SO492037). This fort was registered by Cadw and is identified with the number SAM: MM077. There are approximately 300 hillforts in CADW's list of monuments, although archaeologists believe there were nearly 600 in total.

Cleddon Bog (grid reference SO509039) is a bog in the vice-county of Monmouthshire which has been notified as a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest. It lies within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It was declared a Local Nature Reserve in May 1970.The bramble Rubus trelleckensis, which is endemic to Monmouthshire, is present at the site. Other plant species present include cranberry (Vaccinium oxycoccos), bog asphodel (Narthecium ossifragum), round-leaved sundew (Drosera rotundifolia), bottle sedge (Carex rostrata) and heath spotted orchid (Dactylorhiza maculata).The site is one of the best sites for recording butterflies and moths in eastern Wales. The site's interfaces between boggy heathland and woodland, with patches of bilberry and heather grow under an open canopy of rowan and other deciduous trees, means that it is home to a variety of important lepidoptera species for Wales such as the Bilberry Pug and welsh wave moths. Cleddon Bog is important not because it has so many national rarities, the only one UK Biodiversity Action Plan Priority species present is the White-line Snout, although three Species of Conservation Concern have also been recorded, but in its diversity of species, for some of which it represents the sole Gwent site. A total of 57 nationally notable or local species of butterfly and moth have been recorded on site. Among the 18 species of butterflies which have been recorded the silver-washed fritillary was always uncommon, however the small pearl-bordered fritillary, which was common has gone unrecorded since 1987. This follows the pattern of this species decline across eastern Gwent. The green hairstreak also appear to have been extirpated from the site. The heathland moths have also declined, with some species not being recorded in recent years.An increase in the density of the grass growing and of tree cover threatened to dry Cleddon Bog out, and between 2009 and 2012 management was carried out by the Environment Agency and the Countryside Council for Wales to restore the bog and to create new wet habitats for the bog's flora and fauna.

The Cross at Croes Llwyd Farm, Raglan, Monmouthshire is a medieval cross which indicated a boundary of the Lordship of Raglan. As a rare medieval survival, it is both a Grade I listed structure and a Scheduled monument.

Cleddon Hall, formerly known as Ravenscroft, is a 19th-century Victorian country house in Trellech, Monmouthshire, Wales. In the later 19th century it was owned by Lord and Lady Amberley, and their youngest son, the philosopher Bertrand Russell, was born at the hall on 18 May 1872.

Croes Robert Wood is a nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), noted for its biological characteristics, in Monmouthshire, south east Wales. Gwent Wildlife Trust, the owners of the site, manage the woodland through methods of coppicing and charcoal burning to encourage its notable flora and fauna.

Caer Llan is a field studies centre, conference centre and former country house located at Lydart within the community of Mitchel Troy, Monmouthshire, south east Wales, about 3 miles (4.8 km) south-west of Monmouth. It is close to the top of a scarp slope with extensive views westwards over the valley of the River Trothy, and is accessed from the B4293 road.
