The center maintains, stores, and demilitarizes tactical missiles and conventional ammunition for the Army, Air Force, and Navy. LEMC assembles, disassembles, and tests missiles and missile sections. It is also responsible for every aspect of conventional ammunition and missiles, including demilitarization, renovation and X-ray. The facility is part of the US Army Joint Munitions Command.

The 4.4-mile-long (7.1 km) tributary Rowe Run joins Muddy Run southeast of Orrstown. The 5.3-mile-long (8.5 km) tributary Lehman Run joins the Muddy Run near Pleasant Hall, Pennsylvania. The headwaters begin in the Letterkenny Army Depot. Muddy Run joins the Conodoguinet near Orrstown.

Corker Hill is a historic home and farm complex located at Greene Township in Franklin County, Pennsylvania. The manor house was built between 1810 and 1820, and is a two-story, seven-bay, brick dwelling on a limestone foundation in the Federal style. The facade was modified about 1905, to add Colonial Revival style elements, such as a cupola and wraparound porch. Also on the property are the contributing large stone and frame Pennsylvania bank barn, stone vaulted root cellar, frame shed / chicken coop, frame carriage house / garage, small stone furnace building, wagon shed / corn crib, and frame tenant house (c. 1870).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Wilson College is a private, Presbyterian-related college in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1869 by two Presbyterian ministers, it was named for its first major donor, Sarah Wilson of nearby St. Thomas Township, Pennsylvania, who gave $30,000 toward the purchase of the land and home of Alexander McClure. For 144 years, Wilson operated as a women's college. In 2013 the college's board of trustees voted to make the college coeducational beginning in the 2013–2014 academic year, with male residential students beginning in fall 2014.
