Runcorn Linnets F.C. are an English football club based in Runcorn, Cheshire. The club currently plays in the Northern Premier League Division One West, and is a full member of the Cheshire County Football Association. The club is run by a trust which is a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, and is registered with the Financial Services Authority.

The Sutton Tunnel railway accident occurred in the Sutton tunnel between Frodsham and Moore in Cheshire, England on 30 April 1851. As a result of it nine people died and between 30 and 40 were injured.

Sutton Weaver railway station was located in Sutton Weaver, Cheshire, England. The station was opened by the London and North Western Railway on 1 April 1869, closed to passengers on 30 November 1931 and closed on 30 April 1942.

Norton railway station was a station near Norton, a village to the east of Runcorn, Cheshire, England. It was located just north of the 1.25 mile (2 km) Sutton Tunnel and was built as a result of the recommendations of a Board of Trade enquiry into a fatal accident in the tunnel the previous year. It was opened by the Birkenhead, Lancashire & Cheshire Joint Railway company on 18 December 1850; originally named Norton, it was renamed Norton (Cheshire) in 1926; and it was closed to passenger traffic by the British Transport Commission on 1 September 1952. Most of the station has since been demolished, but the old station house remains in use as a private dwelling and there is a signal box nearby that still bears this name. A new station, known as Runcorn East was opened a few metres south of the original site in October 1983 to serve the southern end of Runcorn new town.

Norton is an area in the eastern part of the town of Runcorn, Cheshire, England. It was originally a separate village 3 miles (5 km) to the east of Runcorn, but in the 1970s and 1980s became absorbed within Runcorn by the expansion of its new town.

Town Park is a large urban park in Runcorn, Cheshire, England. Town Park was created as an integral part of the original Runcorn New Town development with the aim of forming a central landscape feature for local residents. The creation of Town Park preserved nearly 157 hectares of existing woodlands and undulating grassland. The park was planned to link the New Town centre with local centres via green corridors and included large areas of open grassland and woodland as well as buildings for recreational and cultural activities. Halton Miniature Railway (opened in 1979), Runcorn Ski Slope and Norton Priory Museum and Gardens sit within the park boundaries. In July 2010, a new play area was created at Stockham Lane adjacent to the miniature railway. From July 2017, the park was staffed with two full time park workers for the first time since the early 1990s, funded by the Viridor Runcorn Energy from Waste plant. In 2018, the Council adopted a Masterplan for Town Park which would see footpaths widened and three themed hubs created across the park.

Sutton Weaver is a village and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester, in the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It is 2 miles (3.2 km) northeast of Frodsham and 2.5 miles (4 km) south of Runcorn. According to the United Kingdom Census 2011, it had a population of 495 and a total land area of 3,198 sq metres (m2) (thousands). The village has 206 Households with some of the main industries of the village being Wholesale and Retail Trade, Human Health and Social Work Activities and Manufacturing; These three sectors alone account for 36.5% of Occupational Share.

Preston Brook is a village and civil parish in the borough of Halton, a unitary authority in the ceremonial county of Cheshire in North West England. It is located to the south-east of Runcorn and south-west of Warrington, adjacent to the M56 motorway. The parish includes the village of Preston on the Hill. At the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 809, up from 716 in 2001. Approximately 3,000 people are employed in the area. Preston Brook has a small industrial park called Abbot's Park, formerly used by the mobile telephone company O2 and Wincanton Logistics, though it is now used by Capita, Marks & Spencer, O2, First Group and Tesco Mobile. The Bridgewater Canal runs from Manchester through Preston Brook where it divides into two branches. One branch leads to Runcorn where it used to join the Manchester Ship Canal, and before that the River Mersey, while the other branch joins the Trent and Mersey Canal at the Preston Brook canal tunnel. Sutton Hall is a historic farmhouse, south of the village of Sutton Weaver in Cheshire, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building.The hall dates from the late 15th or early 16th century, and it was extended in the late 17th and early 19th century. It is built in brown brick in two storeys with attics. Internally there are two superimposed great halls which are a "feature of unique interest". Figueirdo and Treuherz consider that it is "one of the most important and least known late medieval timber-framed houses in Cheshire".The associated barn and shippon, which date from the late 17th century, are listed at Grade II. Also listed at Grade II is a circular feeding trough in the farmyard dating from the 19th century, which is made from a single stone and measures almost 2 metres across and 1 metre high. The hall is now a farmhouse, and the barn has been converted for residential use.
