The Château de la Cour d'Angleterre is a château in the commune of Bischheim, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France. It was built in 1751 and registered as a monument historique in 1995.

The Souffel (German: Suffel) is a river in Alsace, France. It rises near Kuttolsheim and joins the river Ill (a tributary of the Rhine), south of La Wantzenau after a course of 25 kilometres (16 mi). It gave its name to two villages on its banks: Souffelweyersheim and Griesheim-sur-Souffel. Tributaries of the Souffel are Haltbach, Plaetzerbach, Musaubach, Kolbsenbach and Leisbach. In 1815 the Battle of La Suffel was fought on its banks.

Château de Pourtalès (or Château de Robertsau) is a château situated in the Robertsau district of Strasbourg, France. It's dated to the 18th century and named after the Pourtalès family.

La Wantzenau (French pronunciation: ​[lavãtsəno]; German: Wanzenau) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

The European School of Strasbourg (French: École Européenne de Strasbourg), or EES, is a public Accredited European School in Strasbourg, France. Founded in 2008, it is an all-through school, which offers a multicultural and multilingual education leading to the European Baccalaureate as its secondary leaving qualification.

Fort Rapp (once called Fort Moltke) is part of the 14 fortifications erected in Alsace by the Prussian general Von Moltke after the fall of Strasbourg in 1870 during the Franco-Prussian War and following the siege of Strasbourg. Built between 1872–1874 and inaugurated on 26 September 1874, it was part of the fortifications meant to protect the city from French attacks. Since 1918 and the return of Alsace-Lorraine to France, it is named after the French general Jean Rapp. The fort is located in Reichstett, a village situated 10 minutes north of Strasbourg and belonging to the Urban Community of Strasbourg. The fort contains 200 rooms and was able to host a garrison of 800 men. It was protected by 18 cannons of 90-150mm.

Hœnheim (French pronunciation: ​[ønaim]; also spelled Hoenheim; German: Hönheim; Alsatian: Heene) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

The building of the European Court of Human Rights is located in the European Quarter of Strasbourg, France. It was designed by the Richard Rogers Partnership and Claude Buche and was completed in 1994.The building is located on the eastern corner of the water intersection, where the Ill river is crossed by the Canal de la Marne au Rhin. The court was formerly located in a building located just across the canal, which was built in 1965 and designed by Bertrand Monnet, J. Apriell and Papillard.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR or ECtHR), also known as the Strasbourg Court, is an international court of the Council of Europe which interprets the European Convention on Human Rights. The court hears applications alleging that a contracting state has breached one or more of the human rights enumerated in the Convention or its optional protocols to which a member state is a party. The European Convention on Human Rights is also referred to by the initials "ECHR". The court is based in Strasbourg, France. An application can be lodged by an individual, a group of individuals, or one or more of the other contracting states. Aside from judgments, the court can also issue advisory opinions. The convention was adopted within the context of the Council of Europe, and all of its 46 member states are contracting parties to the convention. Russia, having been expelled from the Council of Europe as of 16 March 2022, ceased to be a party to the convention with effect from 16 September 2022 in accordance with article 58. The court's primary means of judicial interpretation is the living instrument doctrine, meaning that the Convention is interpreted in light of present-day conditions. International law scholars consider the ECtHR to be the most effective international human rights court in the world. Nevertheless, the court has faced challenges with verdicts not implemented by the contracting parties.

Reichstett (French pronunciation: ​[ʁaiʃtɛt]) is a commune in the Bas-Rhin department in Grand Est in north-eastern France. Fort Rapp is located here.

The Aar is a river in the administrative district of Bas-Rhin which crosses the municipalities of Strasbourg and Schiltigheim. It is an arm which separates from the Ill at the University bridge to rejoin it at lock no 51 in Schiltigheim. Together the Aar and the Ill form the island of Saint-Hélène.
